Chastain Park Golf Course

I love the location. The greens were furry grass and scorched bald in other spots. Looks like maybe an attempt to aerate?

Course is in terrible condition. They clearly do not put any money into it. The greens are some of the worst I’ve seen in years: patches of mismatched grass, sand everywhere, and nothing rolls true. The starter is rude. Every water cooler on the course was empty. There are several unplayable patches on several fairways.

The greens aren’t even greens. The person changing and cutting the pins isn’t trained correctly.. .5/5 stars not even 1 star.

Greens were in such bad shape you couldn’t reliably putt. I didn’t even play an actual round I just tried to hit greens in regulation and then picked my ball up when I got on the putting surface. Will never go back.

-You can have a straighter more true putt off the fairways here.

-No fringes in site just a bare grassless “ green” with all 18 of them rolling at different speeds and no true lines. This course does nothing for a decent/ good player. Sad too because the front desk is tired of telling myself and the other fellow pass holders that they have no control of “ conditions”…

-A new sinkhole or broken pipe appears every 2 days.. then the hole is left exposed and fills with rain water or the dirt that wasn’t backfilled just settles so that’s another hazard.

- Each hole has 5-10 different issues(some of these are huge safetyt concerns, that could be solved so easily and not just by “ roping off the hazard.

. The greens are non playable at this point. Whoever is in charge of the scheduling for punching and aerating must not be much of a golfer..

-You could get a truer/smoother putt-on the fairways or the grass-less tee boxes than these “greens”. They can’t be rolling no more than a 4 on the meter.

Each green had four types of surfaces within any one 5 foot putt.

Thick grass

Putts that should go in were diverted by holes or clumps of grass. And at least one putt that a golfer in my party had given up on because it got diverted got a second diversion back into the hole. We would’ve laughed if it wasn’t so horrible.

It was a super slow Monday morning and my round with a friend started off in an annoying manner. Instead of asking me what my name and tee time was I was met with aggression and a series of questions like. When did you book? Who did you book with? Have you ever played this course?

I could have played the race card but for now we’ll go with “profiling” me and a friend as not your typical Monday morning golfer. Won’t be returning for some time and neither will my group of friends.

This is a travesty. This is maybe the worst shaped golf course in the city right now. I’ve played this course over 100 times, and it has been completely let go. The greens have no grass. The tee boxes have no grass. The bridges across the water are falling apart, and no one seems to care.

When you factor in that it is a six hour round, you are going to have more fun burning your money than spending it here. Even at an affordable price, you cannot help but feel ripped off.

The City of Atlanta needs to stop fooling itself into thinking it can handle running a golf course. Please turn the operation of this course over to a third party. We need someone competent to restore it to what it could be.

Do not walk. Run away from this course.

Greens were pretty terrible, even for my low expectations with the government run course. Pretty good besides that. Could charge $30 more if they would fix the greens.

Multiple locations are permanently flooded with one washed out bridge

Hello! Due to weather and course conditions, my tee time at Chastain Park Golf on January 23, 2026, was canceled by the course. The course will reopen on January 27th.

Could you tell me if I am eligible for a refund money or Refunded amounts will be available as an account credit and can be used against prepaid amounts on my next booking.

Great course...get there early cause finding parking could be a bit challenging.
