Chastain Park Golf Course

Totally unannounced temporary greens for 1-18 until the new year. Full price. Absurd, terrible experience.

Parking is the worst. We were shooting at makeshift greens located on the fairway. I gave it a chance but after 9 holes if pointless golf bc you’re not putting for real at all. We got to 10 and the starter let someone walk on behind us when groupings were already full. This created 3 groups per hole and getting an audience waiting with us on the tee box for the next 3 holes. I left bc it wasn’t even worth $20

Course is under construction yet they are charging full price temporary green on EVERY hole. Collapsed bridge on 4.

I played this course on a hot deal special. Not worth it. 3 holes were closed and the greens were horrible. Parking was also terrible

Leave plenty of time for parking .

I like the combination of affordable , distance and layout. I heard they're having water pipe issues.greens arent great

Terrible course conditions. The greens are the worst shape I’ve ever experienced. Holes 2-4 were closed without any prior notification. To top it off as I was dropping off the golf cart, the cart attendant asked me to pull up to a spot. I was half paying attention since I was on the phone so I didn’t exactly see where he wanted me to park. I thought I was kindly leaving the cart in the spot where he wanted so I started to get my things and walk away, then I hear “did you not hear that I asked you to pull up the cart?” Apparently I missed it but a few feet of his liking and he didn’t want to walk the extra steps. First time in my 25+ years of golfing have I had a cart attendant talk to me like that. Never again

Greens are in terrible condition. Many of the tee boxes have trees overhanging that make tea shots difficult. Greens are incredibly sloped and pin positions are often extremely difficult. Pace of play is very slow. No real amenities to speak of. No driving range. Putting green doesn't prepare you for what you're about to play. Could be a really beautiful course if some money was invested into it.

I've played this course at least 5 times over the years and it has always been an enjoyable round at a better than average public course. However, my recent experience this past Saturday was a course in terrible shape. The fairways were filled with recently cut grass and the amount of cut grass around the greens were completely unacceptable. I expected a lot more based on my past experience at this course. I'm hoping that this was just a bad day of maintenance and not the current standard.
