About

St. James Plantation in Southport is home to four championship golf courses. There are three 18-hole courses and one 27-hole layout. The Reserve Club is a Nicklaus Design layout that is the newest course to join the original P.B. Dye design. It sprawls across a rolling coastal landscape that will test your shot-making skills. The challenging layout features multi-tiered greens and split fairways. Good strategy and careful course management will be generously rewarded on this course. Large expanses of native vegetation and densely wooded wetlands provide not only beautiful scenery but also a variety of challenges. The natural landscape was carefully preserved throughout every golf course, earning each a designation as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.

It's a Challenge!

I live here back in SJP. First thing I'll state is that price is deceiving in that, that is my cost, as a tiered member, for an afternoon rate. there are ALL SORTS of prices. Course was in good shape. Hard track, esp. the first time you play it. Lots of blind shots and forced carries. Greens have been weak. Just too slow and very tired of it. that is why this gets lots of 4s and no 5's. It is a Nicklaus Corp course - but NOT a Jack Nicklaus design, FYI. It is a treat, and a difficult challenge, I like to bring my best golfing friends here, it humbles everyone!
