About
Lockwood Folly Country Club is a superbly conditioned, semi-private, member owned "hidden gem". The course is located at the confluence of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Lockwood Folly River, providing golfers with breathtaking vistas of tidal estuary, moss covered hard- woods and the solitude of nature. Tree lined, nonparallel fairways winding through hardwoods and pine afford a sense of seclusion while challanged with championship golf.

The staff was extremely friendly, course was great, very nice layout, greens were in great shape for this time of year, a bit of a drive from Myrtle beach though
Nice layout
Played Lockwood Folly for the first time. Easy check-in. Was paired with a nice twosome. Space of play was good and overall conditions were good. The course requires shaping a few tee shots which is nice and the greens were sneaky fast. Definitely will play it again.
Great Saturday golf
My husband and I play this past Saturday, course was in good shape, staff friendly, splendid day
Greens and teeing areas in very good condition. Fairways still dormant (not overseeded), with a lot of roll, but should green up in about a month. Greens were smooth and fast but fair, with subtle breaks on longer putts that were hard to read. Definitely a good test of golf from any tee box.
Best course near HB
Played here several times. Great service and great conditions.
First TIme Playing the course
The course was a very nice layout. Difficulty was very challenging. The course was still moving from winter to full spring conditions. Would definitely come back to play it again
Nice layout, needs updates
Im hoping the greens get the attention they needs this season. This course has a nice layout, but shows its age. Greens need tlc, cart paths are chewed up and many roots. Tee boxes ok, fairways will grow and fill in. Many large, mature, beautiful oak trees and other nature to enjoy.
Had a great and was paired with two great guys. I really enjoyed the green speed. Quick, but fair.
Winter golf post snowstorm
Played on Friday, February 6th, the course had just opened back up from winter weather (snow). Staff were super friendly! In my opinion, the course was in really good shape for thawing out after a storm. The were a few damp spots on the course (no muddy spots within the course of play), but there were no cart restrictions. I really enjoyed my round and will definitely be back.
Coastal Classic
I have had the privilege of playing this track at least ten times over the years that we have escaped to Holden Beach for our annual summer reset, and it remains a "Ship in a bottle" classic.
The staff is always friendly and helpful, the course is forevermore a classic layout, and always in great shape. She is challenging but not punishing, alwqys teasing you to take that chance..to cut the corner. Perhaps today is the day I can make it home in two on Number 10 (you can't). This course never disappoints. And the tale of "Lockwood's Folly" is a classic juxtaposition of ambition versus reality, much like the game itself.
Nice course
We were greeted by the cart attendants. They were very nice and informative. They took the time to explain specific holes and challenges. The starter was just as friendly. As for the course, the greens seemed to be very slow, but there was a lot of rain leading up to the day of golf. The fairways and greens were in really good shape. Would definitely play this course again.
