Chapel Hill Country Club

Local course that usually has the cheaper greens fees in the area. Course is in need of some major work. Many of the greens have large bare spots. Frequently find yourself playing off of dirt in many places in the fairway or just off the fairway. My most recent visit also had an extra wrinkle with many of the pin placements in very unnecessary locations. I don’t expect much from this course normally, so this review being a negative one, is due to the course falling into a place of possibly no return.

The greens were about as fast as could be expected for this time of the year. Most were very firm

Worst condition of any course I played in 2020! The course needs lots of love!

Our tee off time was 11:45 Am today. I saw many empty golf carts as of 11:15AM

But ladies at the proshop indicated to us the keys for the cats will not given to us 20 more minutes

which would be 11:35.AM.

Outside, I asked a guy who was already on the cart what time their tee off time and

his answer was 11:37. He got the keys long time ago.

I went back to the proshop and complained why treated us so differently from other people.

I ended up getting the keys around 11:30 but it was very unpleasant experience.

I have been playing golf every weekend for the past 20-30 years and I have never experienced something like today.

Greens were tiny, fairways were like concrete and the rough was even harder if that is possible. Staff was friendly but the coarse needs to get some love big time!

This course could be a beauty if they just did some routine maintenance. Fairways were hard with many areas just dirt. Greens in terrible shape. This course is way overpriced for what you get.

Pace was excellent since we were first ones out but man the conditions are horrible. Not much difference between fairways and rough. Dead patches and weeds are all over, some tee boxes are just dirt. Could probably be a good course with a makeover. I will never play there again. Waste of money.

Good course to play. Definitely worth spending the money. It was my second time playing the course and it’s seemed to go downhill over the last year. Hopefully the course will be watered someday as the entire course is hard as a rock. Overall the course is laid out well, but the maintenance is lacking.
