Needs a lot of work.
Made an account just to review this course. Started out with 4 groups on the 1st tee as we were supposed to tee off. No marshall moving things along. Staff didn’t seem concerned. Singles, twosomes, and even fivesomes going off on a Saturday morning. Tee boxes were weed covered, hard, and almost grassless. Fairways, rough, and greens were not any better. Some greens had literal cracks in them. Giant cracks like they hadn’t been watered in months. If you want to spend $40, play a terribly kept course, almost get hit with a dozen balls, and wait 10 min between each shot on your way to a 5+ hour round, this course is for you. Zero stars.
Dirt road
Never seen a course in such bad shape.putting on the greens was like putting on the moon. Fairways had less grass then i have hair.how do you charge 42 dollars.they should pay you to play there.the highlite of the day was when we left.what a waste of time
Moon landing
Played this course a number of time last year and it was in poor shape.went and played dismorning and the course was in the worst shape ive ever seen.tee boxes were mainly dirt.fairways looked like i was on the moon.and god forbid you go into a sand trap was wet hard sand.this is a 19.99 dollar course at best.WOW cant belive a year could change the course so bad.must be bad management
bad condition
Very nice people but bare spots on greens and in fairways. Sandtraps had water due to sprinklers being on. no water, poorly marked holes. It was cheap!!!
Club House/Pro Shop & Course Maintenance
The ONLY rest room in the pro shop needs complete revamping. It smells in there and it’s so small and so tight and seems like a 19th century Rest room.
Needs more maintenance. Fairways are not very level, lots of ridges and rough to drive the cart over these bumps.
Also the fairways are not well mowed-hard to tell which way we’re going. There is no 1st cut and the rough. Seems like rough all the way through instead of the fairways for some of the holes.
The greatest thing is the staff. Everybody there is extremely friendly. The other good thing is you can get a Tee Time almost every day not just this year but for at least the past 6 Years that I have been going there.
Overall it’s an average course and not bad.
GOOD LUCK CHAPEL HILL!!!
Thanks for all you have done in the past.
Mediocre course
Fairways were just trimmed rough. Tee boxes were very small and in bad shape
Play factors
Seemed like many golfers did not know "golf ettique" riding into fairways delaying play and picking up our balls.
Poorly Maintained
With wise open fairways and little hazards to contend with, it is great for beginners. That being said, the course is in brutal condition. Tee boxes were 50-75% dead, huge spots of fairway was dead grass and even large spots on the greens. The only saving grace was 18 and a cart for 25 dollars. Both times I’ve played here the course was in bad shape, hoping it will be turned around
Great course with an awesome layout with some rolling hills. The front nine was kinda long in length and the back nine was seemed kinda short (except for the obscene 700+ yrd par 5 on 17).
The tee boxes were not great quality and some fairways were in bad shape. The course layout was great and overall a great value for $18!
Needs Work
Not well kept at all. Would only play this if it was under $15 for the round, if that
Nice course
Great course to play on and pretty open with little to no water hazards. Will definitely golf here again.
Okay course
The course is not well maintained - beat up fairways and some greens are patchy too. Layouts are kind of strange, front nines are long whereas back nines are short, tugged with a extremely long par 5 17th hole, which is 700 yards. But considering the value, it’s an okay course.
Nice course
The course layout is very nice and the staff is great. With that said the course was late to open plus the course really needs some water. I will go back and for the price it is worth the trip
Nice course and well priced.
It overall was a nice course. I had a lot of nice valley and it had a good about of difficulty. A couple greens were rough but besides that the course was well taken care of. A little bit over booked but for a 1045 tee time on a saturday it was not bad.
Tough greens
the course is very nice, but those greens will punish you. Very firm, very fast, very undulating. Definitely not my best score card. Pace of play was very slow today because of the number of golfers, and no rangers. Still dealing with Corona precations
