Frog Hollow Golf Club
About
Frog Hollow Golf Club in Middletown boasts the title of "best public golf course" in Delaware. The course has a links-style layout that is challenging but still player-friendly enough to appeal to beginners, seniors, and juniors. The layout is wide open and quite forgiving but there are still plenty of hazards with which to contend. There are more than 50 strategically placed bunkers throughout the golf course. Their thoughtful placement makes up the bulk of the layout's challenges. There are ponds that come into play on six holes as well as tall native grasses that appear along the fairways and greens. The wind is often a factor on the course too and will test your accuracy even further. Frog Hollow Golf Club's par 3s and par 5s are manageable but the par 4s will test even the best players.

CHS golf
The course was very good, an excellent value but there was no water anywhere on the course for patrons. No beverage cart. And the clubhouse is too far from the turn with not enough time to get to the clubhouse without causing a delay with the foursome behind us.
Great Value
Frog Hollow is a nice course at affordable price. It is currently in good shape with lush green fairways, landing zones, and greens. Very good staff at the clubhouse.
Don't play during Ryder Cup
Course is in good shape. Greens were good. Rough areas could be a little lower. Could barely find my ball just off of the fairways. Also. Beer cart girl never came around the course at all. 90 degree heat and she decided to cater to the guys who played in the Ryder cup tournament going at the pub which had 2 other girls working inside. My buddy threw up from not having any water. We stopped after hole 9 but seeing a beverage cart on the back 9 or even the whole course would have been great!
Frog Hollow Golf Course
The greens were in near perfect condition. They were consistent and held.
The bunkers are in poor shape although they had been raked. Lots of stones in them.
The fairways were great in spots but other areas were a bit shabby probably due to the uneven weather.
Pace of play was very aggravating with too many ebbs and flows.....play through a couple of holes and then wait 5 minutes per shot. Pace was just too slow to get anything going on a regular basis. Looks like they are doing the best they can with limited resources.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!
Making strides to improve
Frog Hollow opened during the early 2000s golf boom and was an upscale layout in DE farm cou try not really near anything. After a few years conditions deteriorated to poor and players quit coming out to play it. The new owners have improved conditions dramatically with still more turf work to be done. At the price point for tee times it is an challenging layout that is worth the tripand the clubhouse pub is a fun place to be. Keep up the course conditions and we will be back.
Bunkers just ok.
Even though there had not been much rain much of the course was wet and “spongy”. Tough to get a good strike. Told something about irrigation system?
Tee boxes, fairways and greens were still in great shape., but again, sloppy strikes, even from fairways.
Hidden Gem!
Had a great time playing this course with one of its members!!
Welcome Back Frog Hollow
Wow has this placed changed. The course is finally fixing up the traps( the traps are the only reason I didn't give the course excellent). Fairways are excellent as are the greens. Best place tp play for the price. High on my list of top public courses to play.
Great greens
Greens awesome and the bunkers were being worked on while Iwas there. Great course.
Back to normal
Frog Hollow is back to being near the top of my list of places to play. The course has come back strong from the problems of a couple years ago. Tee to green is 85%. The bunkers could still use some love. The toughest 6 finishing holes around. ( in my opinion.)
Course in great shape, bunkers unplayable
I’ve been playing this course for years and even with the hot summer, the tee boxes fairways and greens are in great shape. The rough could use some water but still not bad. The course has been under a few different managements over the years and still none of them have tacked the terrible bunkers. It’s like dirt not sand and there’s giant rocks in almost everyone of them. It’s so bad that you will definitely destroy your clubs if you play out of them. The course is fun and I would recommend to anyone in the area, but stay away from the bunkers.
