About
Frog Hollow Golf Club in Middletown boasts the title of "best public golf course" in Delaware. The course has a links-style layout that is challenging but still player-friendly enough to appeal to beginners, seniors, and juniors. The layout is wide open and quite forgiving but there are still plenty of hazards with which to contend. There are more than 50 strategically placed bunkers throughout the golf course. Their thoughtful placement makes up the bulk of the layout's challenges. There are ponds that come into play on six holes as well as tall native grasses that appear along the fairways and greens. The wind is often a factor on the course too and will test your accuracy even further. Frog Hollow Golf Club's par 3s and par 5s are manageable but the par 4s will test even the best players.

Nice Course
This course is getting a little better every time I play it. Good value
Course is coming back nicely
Played today in perfect weather. Teamed up with 3 other people I didn't know and we all had a great time. Play was faster then normal and the course conditions are getting better every week. Good job Frog Hollow staff
Call it a Come Back
Last summer the courses irrigation system was struck by lightning in the middle of a heat wave. Toasted the course. It’s back to very playable conditions. Greens still have a few rough patches but tees and fairways are playable. Can’t beat the layout, challenging and pace of play is good as well. I’d expect them to be in great shape after one more growing season.
Not ready yet
Walked 9 holes during covid. For the first time in my life. Have not played here in a couple years due to poor reviews of poor conditions. Had read a couple positive things, but didn’t see much happening. Again, maybe because of covid? Whatever. Played the front 9. Most of everything was rough. I’m giving a generous 3 stars at this time. MAYBE I’ll try again at the end of the season, and HOPEFULLY it gets back to past firm. Fingers crossed!!!

Course conditions are getting better
This course was in very bad shape the past two years esp the greens. The course conditions have improved on the greens and fairways and hopefully will be much better by end of May. Most Sand traps need fresh sand. The big reason for 3 starts is the slow play. 5 hour rounds are not uncommon

Solid layout
In spite of less than desirable course conditions, I enjoyed my round here. It is described as links style but it gets lost as the course runs between houses, some a little bit in the danger zone. Owner assured us that the course conditions will come back as weather improves. Greens seemed unusually large but that opens the door for multiple pin positions. The holes were all playable but personally I think the 17th green is not set up properly for a long par 4 with a demanding narrow entry and green complex contour towards water and woods. It seems to me this green is more suited for a short hole where you are hitting a short iron into it. Clubhouse and on course staff very friendly and courteous.
Wet Weather
First time playing this course and it was during covid-19 social distancing. They did a great job handling the situation by having you pay in advance, removing rakes, etc.
Lots of rain the day before and morning of golfing and considering it is also the off season, the course conditions were expected. But you can tell the course could use some tlc -even on a good day.
I plan to return on a better weather day to see how the course plays under better conditions.

Dog track of a course
My round at frog hollow was maybe one of the worst courses I’ve ever played. The tee boxes were filled with sand or sometimes places in the rough. The greens were sandy, burnt out, or just completely torn up. No true lies on the course, granted the off season conditions it was still absolutely terrible. I wouldn’t recommend this course to my greatest enemy.

course layout is good
Course needs a lot work and nothing seems to be started yet I don't no what they are what their wanting for may be summer.

February Golf
It is late Feb so getting a round of golf in is always "iffy" when it comes to the weather. Yesterday was in the low 60's and just right. Made a tee time at Frog Hollow and got my round done in 2.5 hours. This was only my second time playing Frog Hollow...the last time was some years ago. I had heard that they had had some issues late last season with their greens. One of the employees told me what happened and that there were also some "temp greens" while they worked to get the greens back in shape.....and they WERE WORKING to get the greens and the course back in shape for the new season. They have a lot of work to do, but that will not stop me from returning for another round if the weather cooperates like it did yesterday

Course in bad shape
The course was not worth the money. Most of the greens were unplayable. Needs a lot of work. I will not be playing there no time soon.

Still Needs a lot of Improving
As of 1/26, the course is showing signs of a turnaround, but it probably won't get back to how it once was until 2021, maybe fall of this year if they have/continue to put money towards repairing it. Still have 3 temp greens. A lot of greens have dead patches that are near impossible to putt through. All of their bunkers need new sand and many have standing water (granted it did rain heavily the day before). I'm really hoping the spring brings this course back to life, because I enjoy playing here when conditions are good.

The course was in rough condition. The fairways were in poor shape as well as the greens. Hopefully they will put some work into the course this winter and it will be in much better shape this spring.

Needs work
Nice layout but the fairways and greens need a lot of work. Used to be one of the nicer courses in Delaware but is not being kept up.
