About
Frog Hollow Golf Club in Middletown boasts the title of "best public golf course" in Delaware. The course has a links-style layout that is challenging but still player-friendly enough to appeal to beginners, seniors, and juniors. The layout is wide open and quite forgiving but there are still plenty of hazards with which to contend. There are more than 50 strategically placed bunkers throughout the golf course. Their thoughtful placement makes up the bulk of the layout's challenges. There are ponds that come into play on six holes as well as tall native grasses that appear along the fairways and greens. The wind is often a factor on the course too and will test your accuracy even further. Frog Hollow Golf Club's par 3s and par 5s are manageable but the par 4s will test even the best players.

Rude Staff
The course is in ok shape compared to what it was last year. The starter was rude, and I didn’t like the fact that they lure you in with the $30.00 price. When you check in, they then tell you that that price is walking only and charge you an extra $20.00 to ride. GO PLAY ODESSA NATIONAL OR BACKCREEK, much better courses with better staff!
Course is great
Played this course last year and do to no fault of their own ,the heat and sprinkler system a few holes were damaged. Now this year all is repaired and it’s GREAT!!,
Rounding back to shape
The work they’ve put in to get the course in good shape after the unfortunate irrigation system incident last summer left most the greens and a lot of the fairways in horrible shape. Most of the greens are in good shape, just a few spotty areas and they’re keeping them just a little long as they continue to recover. Everything else is in good shape. I’ve really liked this course a lot and I’m glad to see it playing well again! Definitely be back again soon and am hoping they can get back to the smooth fast greens!
Course improving
Post the irrigation issue from last summer the course is making a comeback, although there are still some rough spots. It’s a great layout at a great price. To me, the only thing keeping it from a full 5 star rating are the conditions of the traps which are improving slowly but still have a ways to go
Course conditions are good
After the past year and a half of bad fairways and greens the course is in much better shape except for the 14th green

Disrespect
It is hard to understand why this course gets sparse play. Great layout and conditions. Some greens do have fungal spots, but most courses do. Very disappointed the Pub is not open, could be why golfers are not playing here.
As good as ever
Go play it. The course is in great condition now. Greens, fairways, etc. all very good.
Disappointing Business Practices
Price online did not represent cart cost and didn't make this clear. Also didn't give a cost for carts, so staff is free to charge whatever for carts when you get there. Also not enough carts for everyone to ride separately.
Next time will be going to a course with price transparency.

Great layout
I really like this course and the layout. They did a great job refurbishing the greens and the were in good shape. It’s always a good round there and the staff are great.

Course is coming back nicely
Played today in perfect weather. Teamed up with 3 other people I didn't know and we all had a great time. Play was faster then normal and the course conditions are getting better every week. Good job Frog Hollow staff
Call it a Come Back
Last summer the courses irrigation system was struck by lightning in the middle of a heat wave. Toasted the course. It’s back to very playable conditions. Greens still have a few rough patches but tees and fairways are playable. Can’t beat the layout, challenging and pace of play is good as well. I’d expect them to be in great shape after one more growing season.

Not ready yet
Walked 9 holes during covid. For the first time in my life. Have not played here in a couple years due to poor reviews of poor conditions. Had read a couple positive things, but didn’t see much happening. Again, maybe because of covid? Whatever. Played the front 9. Most of everything was rough. I’m giving a generous 3 stars at this time. MAYBE I’ll try again at the end of the season, and HOPEFULLY it gets back to past firm. Fingers crossed!!!

Course conditions are getting better
This course was in very bad shape the past two years esp the greens. The course conditions have improved on the greens and fairways and hopefully will be much better by end of May. Most Sand traps need fresh sand. The big reason for 3 starts is the slow play. 5 hour rounds are not uncommon

Solid layout
In spite of less than desirable course conditions, I enjoyed my round here. It is described as links style but it gets lost as the course runs between houses, some a little bit in the danger zone. Owner assured us that the course conditions will come back as weather improves. Greens seemed unusually large but that opens the door for multiple pin positions. The holes were all playable but personally I think the 17th green is not set up properly for a long par 4 with a demanding narrow entry and green complex contour towards water and woods. It seems to me this green is more suited for a short hole where you are hitting a short iron into it. Clubhouse and on course staff very friendly and courteous.
