Frog Hollow Golf Club
About
Frog Hollow Golf Club in Middletown boasts the title of "best public golf course" in Delaware. The course has a links-style layout that is challenging but still player-friendly enough to appeal to beginners, seniors, and juniors. The layout is wide open and quite forgiving but there are still plenty of hazards with which to contend. There are more than 50 strategically placed bunkers throughout the golf course. Their thoughtful placement makes up the bulk of the layout's challenges. There are ponds that come into play on six holes as well as tall native grasses that appear along the fairways and greens. The wind is often a factor on the course too and will test your accuracy even further. Frog Hollow Golf Club's par 3s and par 5s are manageable but the par 4s will test even the best players.

Wasn’t impressed
Starter was rude, and the service sucked. They aerated the greens and didn’t have a warning about it when booking. Drove over an hour to get there, and it wasn’t worth the asking price. I would rather sit in shore traffic during the summer and at least play a course in good shape with friendly staff. I have played Seaview for less than what I payed for Frog Hollow, and I wouldn’t ever pay their asking price again.
Still needs a little work, especially pace of play
New ownership is at work but the sand bunkers, in-particular have a long, long way to go. Greens were great, as usual, though they had just been aerated and top dressing had blown out of most of the plug holes. Biggest qualm was the pace of play - 5 hours. Lots of people shouldn't, necessarily, translate into slow play.
Great layout, plenty of challenges
I really enjoy Frog Hollow. The course is well designed and quite challenging. The staff is welcoming, food was excellent, I will be back.
The course lay out was very good. Loved the topography and different looks of each hole
The greens were just aerated, but if not I could imagine the greens as quite challenging, fairly large and contoured
The only negative is that all holes are surrounded by pretty close packed homes and had to drive through the community to get to some tee boxes
Great Day for December
The rain held off and the course was in great condition. We came in a little early and they were Very accommodating. Looking forward to going again!
Getting better
Last time I played, things looked rough. This time, it’s what I expect for frog hollow. Everything in above average shape. Especially for this time of year. The course had quite a few wet areas that caused my ball to plug a few times, but fairways were in nice shape and the greens were a lot faster then anyone would expect. Again, everything I expect from frog hollow.
Good Course
Solid golf course. It's one of those courses that really wants to be a links course, but can't quite get there. Conditions were fantastic! Staff in the bar were a bit unfriendly. I would overall recommend this course.
beautiful course
Plenty of challenging holes, balanced with some that are a little less difficult. Nice, wide fairways that are very green. Course in great shape except for some of the sand traps, which could really use some sand without pebbles in them. Overall a great course for the money.
Golf is better than NFL
A beautiful fall round of golf much better than watching football on TV. Course was in good shape staff is friendly as always. Enjoyed round and will be back
Has good features
No golf aid at all. No ball cleaning towel at all spike cleaning tools out of order, some cars brake dosnt work, all bunkers are not in good shape.
Decent course
Not a bad course, but directionals are very poor. Pro shop and pro staff extremely disorganized.
Nice course
Excellent pace of play on a Monday. 36 holes in 5 hours. Greens Have some crazy breaks, tee boxes push you towards bad shots, bunkers weren't in good condition. Fun course that penalizes errant shots but can reward great shots. Great value and pace of play routinely faster than Back Creek across town.
Wet conditions
With wet conditions and no roll it is a long course.
Good Condition, Good Value, Quick Pace of Play
Played on a Saturday morning and thought it would be busy. Maybe the heat kept people away but we teed off at 8 and were done in 3 hrs. One 2-some was the only group in front of us. Greens were in good shape, & putted true, very few spots that were heat damaged.
Definitely recommend the course, the conditions were good for the price and the pace of play was fantastic!
