Frog Hollow Golf Club
About
Frog Hollow Golf Club in Middletown boasts the title of "best public golf course" in Delaware. The course has a links-style layout that is challenging but still player-friendly enough to appeal to beginners, seniors, and juniors. The layout is wide open and quite forgiving but there are still plenty of hazards with which to contend. There are more than 50 strategically placed bunkers throughout the golf course. Their thoughtful placement makes up the bulk of the layout's challenges. There are ponds that come into play on six holes as well as tall native grasses that appear along the fairways and greens. The wind is often a factor on the course too and will test your accuracy even further. Frog Hollow Golf Club's par 3s and par 5s are manageable but the par 4s will test even the best players.

Friendly staff
First time played and I really like the course. Staff was extremely friendly. Course layout wasn’t bad. Not a hard course except a few holes. Hooked up with a really nice group of guys. Will definitely come back.
Well maintained!
Frog Hollow offers moderate challenges, playing relatively long from the senior tees with several shots requiring forced carry over water and punitively heavy rough. The course was meticulously manicured with its tees rivaling greens of many lesser courses while the fairways resemble thick, plush carpets. Patrick in the pro-shop was very helpful in directing us through Frog's layout as we played the back-9 first. An electrical storm approached as progressed down #18, forcing suspension of play. We were offered a raincheck for our remaining 9-holes, so we opted for dinner at the Frog Pub. Although the pub is fairly small, the service and food were excellent. Looking forward to our next round... ribbit, ribbit!
In great condition despite all the rain which made it very soggy and playing long.
Had the course to myself with the rain and forecast. Cart path only was very justified.
Greens
Greens were quick! Replace your ball marks people. Fairways in excellent shape. Roughs going to be what you make of it. Overall, Frog Hollow, keep doing what you do!
Disappointed
It's been years since I've played here. From what the course was when it was first built till now are two different courses. Back in the day the greens were so fast, the rough was so high the fairways were so green. Now it's a $19 dollar course. For that price it's a playable course. To bad the players can't fix any divots anywhere on the course. Hope for better days on this once beautiful course
7/16/18
Signage for first timers sadly lacking. Where’s the pro shop? Parked once then moved the car after finding the shop, opposite end of facility from the cart return... Definitely better signs would be helpful. Course in good shape with the exception of one ladies tee box. No refreshment cart on a day of 98 degree weather.
Froh Hollow - value
Very nice course. Play here a lot. great value. Some traps do need more sand
Ok for the price
Short course thru residential community. Course was in excellent condition. Pretty vanillla
Good course
The course was in good shape and challenging however clubhouse was under renovations and there was a bag drop rack with no one tending bags or carts. At cash register you are given a cart key and you just take any cart and return key at the end. We were paired with 2 guys we didn't know and it worked out fine. Driving, putting areas adequate
Course in good shape, bunkers need work
The fairway and greens were in good shape, but the bunkers needed sand. Pace of play was a little slow but ranger did ask group in front to speed up around the 7th hole and it did improve
Greens are better than last year
The course still needs work, but that’s what happens when the prior owner lets thing go. Bunkers need work, but greens are in good shape. Clubhouse menu could use more options, some salads.
Challenging but fair course!
Course is well maintained; traps are being renovated; all in all an enjoyable round.
Unexpected negatives
Very bad hitting area at range, horrible Matts
Too many blind landing shots off tee
Worse sand bunkers, sand not conditioned ,hard pan!
No marshals to keep up play .. hence 5 hours plus
Didn’t inform players their round involved a wedding occupying 1st hole in the middle of round ... never saw anything like this before! Really
To be fair, a very decent track
This course should NOT be getting 4 stars at this point.
good course and improving
Frog Hollow has always been a nice course, but it is now improving with the new ownership. Most of the course is in really good shape and they are working hard to improve it, especially the sand traps. It is nice to see all the work they are putting into this place. Staff is all very friendly too.
If there is a better bang for your buck
I wasn't sure what to expect as it is under new ownership. Never fear, it is still a quality golf course with one of the best closing holes around. The other 17 holes ain't all bad either. It is part of a housing development but I kind of like seeing the different style houses along the way and different ideas for backyard landscapes.Well worth the 50 plus mile drive to play. Will return soon, hopefully before gas hits 3 bucks a gallon.
