About
Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, Del., is a 145-acre public course, billed as a “natural treasure.” The 18-hole championship course gets the moniker thanks to its surroundings -- the ancient forest of White Clay Creek State Park. The 145-acre play, acquired by the state of Delaware in 2005, is a par-70, 6,323-yard golf course that features rolling terrain, smooth bent grass putting surfaces and scenic vistas. The mix of memorable, distinctive holes adds to the difficulty, as does the memorable, heavily wooded setting and dramatic elevation changes. Before or after your round at Deerfield Golf Club, enjoy the large putting green, full-service practice range, or lighted tennis and paddleball courts.

Every bit of the 133 slope
This course is supposed to be the Delaware track with the most changes in elevation. Job done! Challenging from tee to green. The course was an excellent condition and forces you to think about every shot. Beautifully laid out in a true Nicklaus style that rewards good shots and punishes poor ones. Staff was friendly and efficient. Will definitely be back.

Not worth it
Disappointed in this course. Unfair layout and blind shots on basically every hole. Other then tee boxes you will not find a flat spot. Every shot is on a slope. Greens weren’t that nice. Shaggy.
Save your money and play white clay down the street
Great spot
Great golf course. Has some great elevation changes. It's in great shape,greens are fast and true.

Pace of play was slow due to cart path only play. Got backed up on the back side! No Ranger! No beverage cart!

Nice yet challenging course
Ciurse was in good shape. Many slopedfairways, so hitting your spot is important. Punishes big slices or draws.,
Beautiful Public Course
The course was very well maintained. Lots of challenging holes and undulation on the greens and fairways. This course gives any private country club a run for the money.
Driving range is limited to 240 yards and has turf or grass options. Amenities are very clean and ample. Food at the turn was affordable, fast and tasty. Pace of play was somewhat of an issue. This is by no means a beginner’s course. I will definitely play this course again in a heartbeat.
Pace of play was brutal - man d afternoon. If play again it will be in early morning. Starter not friendly at all, maybe was having a bad day (?).
