About
Bowes Creek Country Club is situated on the western edge of Elgin amidst gently rolling hills. The golf course enjoys an idyllic setting, sprawling across lush farmland accented with stands of mature trees, natural wetlands, and rocky bluffs. The layout incorporates the natural hazards provided by the terrain but massive, sweeping bunkers were also strategically placed throughout for added challenge. Tall fescue grasses edge the face of the bunkers as well and the undulating terrain guarantees that you will come across a few uneven lies. The trickier elements of the golf course are balanced by expansive, player-friendly fairways that offer a little room for error. In addition to the golf course, Bowes Creek C.C. also boasts a comprehensive practice area with an elevated, 30-station driving range with target greens at varying distances, and putting and chipping greens.

Great Challenge
This is a Terrific Course, 5 sets of tees based upon your skill level, so choose wisely, because the wrong tees will make you feel inadequate, and Bring lots of balls.
Greens and fairways are in great condition, sand traps are hand raked daily, tee boxes had some burned out spots, but didn't effect your stance.
It was a little breezy with 15 mph winds gusting up to 25. Makes it interesting, so be prepared.
GPS is nice and consistent, only a few spots where the flag was not where it showed, but close enough.
We were 2nd off at 640 am and we played in 2:35 for 18. Shot a 79 from the white tees. I play 3 times a week and this was an overall pleasant and fun experience and a solid value at $59.00, which is a discounted rate from peak times. Book online and have a Great Time!!
Well maintained course. Awesome value for money
Very well maintained course, staff was very friendly , awesome value for money, played 45 holes.
Disappointed
Good design, course has personality, I like the layout. My disappointment is because of the greens. The greens were terrible - fast, which is ok but hard as a rock. Shots would not hold the greens. Even pitch shots would not stop. Hard and fast is not a good combination, they were unfair. Do they have sprinklers there?? Also, the cart paths are too close to the fairways & greens.

Excellent Track, fast greens
Great course in Elgin of all places. Wonderful hidden gem. Fast greens, but either the greens are over used...ie. too many rounds, or people just do not fix their ball marks. Staff friendly, played fast on a Sat afternoon tee time. Great practice facilities, wonderful club house, amazing conditions. Go play it..!

Like the layout
Very changeling course. I really like the layout. The staff was great. The only negative were the greens. They were really beat up. I know this course gets a lot of play but the condition of the greens were a major disappointment.like
We apologize if you didn't find the course in the best shape possible. The summer heat has been taking its toll a bit, but we strive to get the course in the very best possible shape.

Great Golf Experience at Bowes
We had full access to the course all day - ended up playing 23 holes. The driving range, chipping range and putting green was well stocked and in great shape! It was HOT, and they even drove out to the fairway with icy cloths for refreshment! All in all, it was a great experience.

Hidden Gem
When I think Elgin for some reason great golf courses did not come to mind but there are two now I have found Bowes Creek and The Highlands which are exceptional.

What a track!
Played this round from the tips and shot my personal best here. Nothing bad to say about this club. Great conditions, staff, clubhouse, bar, practice....etc.
Take advantage of this beautiful place as much as possible.

First Class course with first class service! Challenging and beautiful layout with great conditioning makes this a must play in the area. A challenge for any level golfer.

This course is outstanding.
Great overall course. The front nine is relatively flat like most Chicago area courses, but the back 9 is one of my favorite in the Chicago area - elevation changes through wooded areas. Great strategic course with overall good course conditions.

Great course challenging holes must hit precise shots
It is a game of inches and we defiantly have a few holes where you don't have to miss by much to find yourself in some trouble. We're glad you found the course "excellent" and we hope to see you again soon.

Wonderful place to play for the money
I booked it as a HOT DEAL on Golf Now and was very excited that I got to play this for $45. First time there for a friend and myself but the smart carts were so helpful with the fly over that it made holes feel like you've been there before. Love the elevated tees!!

Great layout
Enjoyed playing this course for the first time a few weeks ago. The layout was fun and challenging but the greens were in pretty poor shape. A lot of unrepaired ball marks! I paid $55 which was a good value but I would probably not pay much more than that solely because of the greens. The carts, food and amenities were excellent, but that's not what I come for.
We apologize if you didnt find the greens in the best shape ... We strive to keep the course in the best possible condition, but have had a lot of rain lately.
