White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park
About
White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park is a challenging but playable layout that is well known amongst locals. At just over 7,000 yards, the golf course offers a fair amount of challenges. Water hazards come into play on most holes, demanding several difficult forced carries. There are also some spots on the course that can be quite narrow. The terrain is mostly flat but the layout provides enough diversity to appeal to both low and high handicappers. White Clay Creek has a strong reputation not only for the golf course but also for its various amenities, which give it the feel of a private club. Staff assists you with getting your clubs to and from your car and use of the driving range and chipping green are included in the reasonable fee.

Golfer Reviews
Great choice for December prices
This course is a great layout, located in Delaware Park. Play is unusual this time of year anywhere,
so this course was a real treat. Invited two friends to go along. Had a great day.
Great fall golf
After a short frost delay we were well in our way ahead of our tee time ! We started in 1 and finished in about 3hr 30 mins .... Course in great shape just need to get more people to repair ball marks on greens and replace divots in fairways .... We totally enjoyed our round and would play there again .... Didn't use any of the other facilities such as locker room , bar or grill area for dining .... Asked for scorecard to be emailed never received glad I used a real scorecard along with the electronic scorecard on GPS device on cart ....
Hi John,
Thank you for leaving your review with us, your feedback is important. We appreciate the kind words, glad you loved the course conditions and the pace of play was incredible. We look forward to your return round.
Great course
Great course for high handicapper to the single digit with the 7008 yds tees in the back. Challenging and still fair, undulating greens in great shape as well.
Glad you loved the challenge! We appreciate your feedback and are happy to hear you loved the conditions and layout too. See you soon!
Good time
WCCC it's been a year. And it still remains one of the best around. Me and my buds jumped on a 30dollar hot deal. We had a blast. Course is a monster. Big and challenging. Such a fun day. Then some gambling at the track next door. It's a mans day
Awesome! So glad you love the course and got a great deal on your tee time and had fun at White Clay Creek. Come back again soon we can't wait to see you!
white clay creek
Very nice course. Many traps and some difficult greens and pin placements. Played on November 1 and they has just aerated the fairways?? Can not walk this course. Second green to third tee was about half mile. A lot of lateral hazards.
Thanks for leaving your review on White Clay Creek! We're happy to hear you loved the course and found it challenging. See you next season!
Disappointing
I received an email for a $45 round for this course. That was a good deal since their normal price for a round on a weekend morning is over $80. A friend and I took advantage of the offer. However, the club did not warn anyone until you were there that it was cart path only. Additionally, they had just aerated most of the fairways. Ball plugged with every drive in the fairway. And the cart paths are not always next to the fairways. The cart path rule made no sense in that the course was dry except for a few places in the extreme rough. This made pace of play very slow. 4 3/4 hours for a round of golf, and we really weren't waiting on many holes. The cart path rule slowed things down considerably. It would have been nice for the course to let golfers know of the cart path rule and the aeration in the email notification with the special.
We are so sorry for the miscommunication about the cart path and will make sure this information is noted along with the special. We appreciate you taking the time to write a review about White Clay Creek and hope you'll give us another chance in the future!
Last minute fun
Good course, wouldnt be able to walk as it is a total of 10 miles as you weave between holes. But it was in good condition even though it was cold. Really enjoyed the scenery and the challenge. AND we paid 45 bucks, cant beat it.
Thanks for the awesome review, mlloyd920! We agree, the scenery is amazing and definitely adds that extra perk to the course. We can't wait to have you back again soon!
Excellent course!
One of my favorite courses. They just finished aerating so it wasn't in perfect condition, but to keep it looking great, I understand that has to be done. Pace of play was a little slow and ranger passed us a couple of times and didn't say anything.I always play from the white tees and it is challenging, but the guys I played with were hitting from the black tees. Some of the holes are really difficult from the black tees, mostly because there are a couple of forced carries of 230 yds. Practice facility is great, I always try and get there an hour early just to use that. Probably the best course in the area.
Love to hear our course is one of our golfer's favorites! Thanks for the awesome review and we look forward to having you back soon!
Am awesome course
Will definitely play it again the only unfortunate thing was the that the greens were just airated.
Tony5439973 - Wow, thanks for the five star rating despite the greens being newly aerated. We are so glad you think our course is awesome and would definitely come back again! Can't wait!
aerated greens
Would like to have known greens were aerated. everything else was perfect. Weird finishing hole.
Thank you for the five star rating! We will make sure to inform our golfers of aeration so this doesn't happen again! We are glad everything else was perfect for you at White Clay Creek. Can't wait to have you back here soon!
Excellent Course
The overall facility and golf course is very nice. Excellent layout with a variety of different looking holes.
Awesome! Glad you loved the variety and the course itself here at White Clay Creek. We look forward to seeing you again - keep on practicing!
hidden gem
Not sure why this course doesn't attract more golfers but i guess that good for pace of play and the greens are immaculate and fast. lots of trouble on every hole, be prepared to donate a few balls to the course.
Great tip! Yes, shoot straight at White Clay Creek it can be quite the challenge. Thanks so much for your kind words we are happy to hear you enjoyed your round and consider the course a gem! See you again soon.
Great course!
First time playing at White Clay and will definitely visit again. Facility is great and the course is awesome. Very tough but fun.
Glad you found it a challenge! We can't wait to see you on your next round at White Clay Creek. Come back soon!
Great Time
The warm up facilities are top notch. It was a great value for the money. The technology for navigating the course was excellent. We played Sunday afternoon and the only negatives were the cold hotdogs from the cart girl and the restaurant closed just as we finished. we were looking forward to eating there.
Thanks for letting us know! We appreciate your review on White Clay Creek and glad you loved the practive facility before your round. We can't wait to see you again come back for a delicious meal at the course!
Great Course
Great Course, Great value through Golfnow. I always walk but this course is riding only and for good reason, long distances between holes. Most holes are tree lined and you're right next to the train tracks. The course was in good shape I played the black tees and shot near my handicap. Greens were pretty fast on the day I played and rolled true. I will try to play again.
Thank you for taking the time to review our course, White Clay Creek! Glad you enjoyed your round and the condition of the course. We can't wait to see you again!
Can't walk, but a fun track
WCC really does it up right with a great warm-up / practice facility to get you prepared for your round. PLEASE know your carry yardages b/ you have a lot of forced carry situations that will spoil your round if you play the wrong tees. Our GPS in the cart today was not working the entire back side and it made it difficult to get comfortable ( saving grace- had a yardage book from the first time we played the course). After 4 inches of rain the day before, the course was great! No mud balls or standing water. Bravo to the staff-
Thank you for taking the time to review and play our course, White Clay Creek! We have noted the GPS in cart situation thank you for bringing to our attention. We will let our staff in on your compliment much appreciated! Come back again soon.
enjoyed the course
some tough holes, but really enjoyed, as did the others in my foursome. Will definitely come back and play again
Awesome! Glad you had a great time at White Clay Creek. Come back and see us soon - we love our fans!
Just ok
Not as good as I expected, scored to handicap but the long ride between holes is distracting. Points to carry should be marked. Hot day , saw cart girl once and there is no club house access once you leave
Paul
Thanks for letting us know and for playing at White Clay Creek Country Club! We are sorry to hear that the bev cart was not as readily available as usual we will inform our staff. We hope to see you again on your next round!
Miles of cart paths and sever dogleg holes
The staff is very friendly. You drop your clubs in front of the clubhouse and they bring them around back, I personally do not like that as I am protective of my clubs, I do not like leaving them anywhere that I cannot see them, don't want anything stolen.
The practice facility is really nice, and it is free with a round of golf.
The course itself was in nice shape after not having any rain for weeks, few dry spots here and there but the fairways and greens were in great shape, even the first cut of rough was excellent.
The layout is not great, you could never walk the course. The distance from one hole to the next is way too long. It felt like I was driving the cart forever, and many times you would backtrack after getting to the hole to get to the next one or the fairway. Overall, too much cartpath.
I also found there were a lot of doglegs, which is ok, but these were severe, a lot of shots were blind and in hopes of finding fairway in the direction of the green. Lots of trees and water come into play, if you miss your tee shot you will lose a ball. I took a lot of drops, way more than I ever have before. The only somewhat saving grace was the GPS in the cart, it helped on the tougher holes. We played the black tees, 6467 yards, only one short par 3, 150 yards or so, all of the other were 185 or more.
Overall it was ok, I had a comp from my play at Delaware Park, that helped on the end since it was free.
The other aspect I did not like was not having a half way house after hole 9, they have a beverage cart running the course, but I do like that halfway feeling seeing the clubhouse and being able to walk in and get something quick to eat.
As of now I am not sure I would play it again, mainly due to the cart paths being way too long.
We hear your Rob! Thanks so much for writing a review and posting your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the majority of your experience, although, yes the course is sometimes long and the doglegs add an extra challenge to which GPS may come in handy on those blind shots. We appreciate your business and hope to see you on your next visit soon!
Always a treat
The course was in excellent shape for late summer, considering how little rain we've gotten. Some bare/dead spots here and there, but everything else was lush. Hot deal around 2pm was a bargain and a no-brainer; got us in ahead of all afternoon shotguns. Greens were rolling pretty true. To give you an idea of what kind of course this is, rangers were driving around handing out ice cold wet towels as late as 5pm to help beat the heat. Nuff said.
Hi thank you for playing at White Clay Creek CC, we really appreciate your feedback and are so happy to hear you got a great deal and enjoyed your round! Come back again soon!
