White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park
About
White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park is a challenging but playable layout that is well known amongst locals. At just over 7,000 yards, the golf course offers a fair amount of challenges. Water hazards come into play on most holes, demanding several difficult forced carries. There are also some spots on the course that can be quite narrow. The terrain is mostly flat but the layout provides enough diversity to appeal to both low and high handicappers. White Clay Creek has a strong reputation not only for the golf course but also for its various amenities, which give it the feel of a private club. Staff assists you with getting your clubs to and from your car and use of the driving range and chipping green are included in the reasonable fee.

Great greens
WCC is always in great shape. Greens roll very true. This course is very challenging and requires precise target shots. Some low lying wet areas do cause the ball to plug deep. Won't get much roll out here but the overall length of the course is friendly to the average golfer. I would undoubtedly recommend playing this course and consider it my favorite in the Wilmington area.
Challenging but best course around
The course is in great shape. Ground crews are continuously working on course. Staff is very friendly and professional. Great value for the quality golf the provide. Practice facility comes with your green fees and is first class. Arrive early to practice before you play. (Driving range, chipping area and putting green). I highly recommend you play this course. I'm going back next week!!! Thanks White Clay Creek!!!!
Great Course; So So Score
Beautiful course; well maintained; very challenging, but sometimes it felt like the course was smarter than you. Despite playing the Black Tees (6400 yds), used hybrid off the tee more than the driver; too many layup shots and could never get a feel for the greens. Still, one of the few courses in the area that lives up to its price
Scenic and Challanging
Very challanging course with scenic views on almost every hole. Lots of water and many bunkers. Most enjoyable if you move up one tee box. Saved $25 using Golf Now Hot Deal.
Bring lots of balls
Great CC level service. A little confusing when we got their as the guys had bags on the wrongs carts, etc.
The course: Bring plenty of balls. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are all in great shape. This course requires course knowledge as there are several blind shots, dog legs, and lots and lots of water and "rough". Requires accurate shots and driver is not the best choice for several of the holes. The rough is unplayable and surrounds each hole. It is a tangled mess, so, take an unplayable and move on. Would love to play three or 4 times as this was my first and I would have changed my shot/club selection on many of the holes if I knew what lies ahead.
The private club experience
From the start you are treated as if it was a private club. Course in great condition, but you better bring your "A" game if you are playing from the back tees. Challenging course with great views. A must play.
Lovely course
Complimentary practice areas, friendly staff, lovely course!
Not for average player
I thought it would be a nice day out, but full sun, 93 degrees and 90% humidity did me in. Course is very challenging. The greens were the fastest, that I have played this year. Course was well maintained. Three out of four in group were suffering from heat. Course provided water on even numbered holes, They had cart come around about 5 times. Like to try again in late fall. Bag valet to and from car, cleaned clubs, free balls for driving range, nice putting green, and short game pratice area.. Up-scale club very nice.
Great course. Very challenging.
Fantastic course. I have played it numerous times. Extremely challenging. And was in fantastic shape. Only negative is that the course was very wet/damp in certain areas. Especially a few of the fairways which in turn makes it hard to hit clean shots and it makes it easy to hit fat shots.
This is a challenging course, but one that I think gets better the more you play it.
The course is very challenging, especially if you have never played it. It was in very good shape and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. It rewards a straight hitter who can put the ball in spots that set up your next shot (hence the challenge if it is your first time looping the course). I look forward to going back with a little course knowledge to see if I can better my score and keep a few more balls in the bag.
Great Course
I like many things about this course. The greens are fast and roll nicely. The fairways are well maintained. The staff was very helpful. We were only able to play 9 holes on the day we played due to the weather. We played the white tees so the course plays fairly short, but it is still challenging. The white tees on the 6th were up too far (hole played only 250 yards). I can't wait to get back so I can play from the Black tees.
Nice course, very challenging, friendly staff. Great free practice facilities for those who have paid their green fees.
White Clay Creek is a premier course for this area. Course was in good shape and the greens rolled true. Staff needs to be aware that the water provided on the course runs out during the course of the day. I played on a hot afternoon and was disappointed to find at least one water cooler empty and another nearly so.
I also played with three players (with whom I was randomly paired) who had never played the course and were not aware how difficult the course played. They got a good deal through GolfNow, but were not prepared for the challenging course. This resulted in many lost balls, three dispirited golfers, and a slower pace of play than I typically enjoy.
Beautiful course and long - but as a newcomer to the game, I found it very challenging.
This is a beautiful course and is excellently maintained in pristine condition. As a newcomer I found the natural hazards - lots of water - streams, creeks and gorse/heavy rough very daunting. Hit a loose shot and reach for another ball. I love the course and think I could play it better playing a forward tee, rather than playing the white tees. I'll be back when I've bought some new balls!!
A must play course
The course was in great shape. Staff were super friendly.
Great course! Had a great time.
Best course in New Castle County.
Great course. Long, challenging and beautiful. Requires shot-making but also is set up fairly for the average golfer. It will test you. Play twilight, if possible. That's when it is quiet and peaceful enough on this course's secluded holes to really appreciate the course. .
Best course I've played in N. Delaware
I'd have to say this is the most challenging course I've played in the Delaware area. Water, Sand, long holes etc. This is also the nicest I've played. You're met by staff & they take your bag down to the course. You get a free large golf pyramid of balls to warm up with before your round on the driving range (as well as a chipping/putting area). The course is very scenic & plays long. A great deal of GolfNow if you can score one for under $50.
Great course for pro's
White Clay creek is a beautiful and challenging golf course. Sculpted through wetlands with scenic holes it plays very long.
Forced carries on about 14 holes, water on every hole and many blind shots require some course knowledge. Huge distances between holes make walking impossible. Greens were good but hard to read. This course ate me alive, but I have to say it was really good and I would play it again.
Nice course...would play again
WCC has a neat and challenging layout. Its quite difficult and can't imagine how anyone above a 15 index would enjoy playing here. You can tell the course has had issues with all the rain this year with some real patchy areas. I was told by then started they've flooded six times this year. Don't let that fool you. There was plenty of fairway to hit from and the greens were rolling better than any course I've played in the northeast this summer. Catch a deal on golf now if you can.
Nice course with a great layout, but we encountered several issues.
I've played the course before and loved it, even if a bit pricey. However, two things stood out about our round that were not good. First, the greens were being aerated and that should have been disclosed prior to booking the tee time. Additionally, we had a major issue with one of our carts that was not addressed quickly even with very few carts out on the course. After the first hole, the reverse beeping sound could not be shut off even after taking the key out. By the third hole, the cart would not move at all. We used the GPS system to alert the pro shop after the first hole about the beeping. No one came out. We then found a maintenance worker on hole 3 and had him call in to the pro shop. It was not until after teeing off 3 holes later that someone came out with a cart. It made for a disappointing experience for a course that sells itself as a "country club for a day."
Very challenging and humbling course.
this course will test every part of your golf game. The Rail (19 Hole) can turn a bad day into a happy ending.
