Heron Glen Golf Course

The staff here especially the starter and rangers are awesome, easy going people. The fairways and greens are in great shape and if you find a hot deal, you can’t beat it. Rivals Neshanic but easier to get on.

Enough said. The only shortcoming was the lack of a clubhouse and now they have a beautiful one!

Course is in excellent shape. Cart attendant on a Monday is awesome when so many course only provide the service on weekends.

First time playing this course and it is in fantastic shape!! Wonderful fairways, greens and bunkers. New club house was open and if they had locker rooms, it would be top notch.

Only complaint would be a few of the par 5s with environmental hazards. They are rather intrusive and you have to lay up on your tee shot at times. Perhaps a casualty of a first time player. Otherwise very enjoyable!

I enjoyed my afternoon here. A must play. Staff is great, course is in fantastic shape and the new clubhouse should make it all come together!

The course is moderately challenging and pleasant to the eye. Was able to locate a hot deal so the price was great.

Heron Glen has always been a favorite of mine , but it can be a bit pricey for a non resident.

With the GolfNow discount, this course is a gem.

Low handicappers will have a great day and a great test from the tips.

Mid to high handicappers will enjoy the the course conditions and diverse layout.

I have wanted to play this course for the past two years because of the great reviews people give it. I finally had the opportunity yesterday and I was not disappointed. The club has a range and practice green. They are currently operating out of a trailer but the new clubhouse is almost finished and will complete this 5 star course. The tee boxes and fairways were in excellent condition while some of the greens still had some sand remaining from previous aeration. Challenging course but I played well with 3 others that knew the course well. So yes this course is everything the reviews say it is. I look forward to playing it again!

This is a great challenge for a single figure handicap if played off the tips. The rough is very thick and one has to be accurate off the tee. The condition is excellent and the layout gives a real feel of spaciousness. It’s a tough walk without a cart as some of the tees are quite a stretch from the greens. I paid $40 to walk and that was great value compared to most courses I have played for the same price. Well done Heron Glen.

The weather has finally warmed up and the aerations have healed at Heron Glen. Despite significant rain in the past few days, the course was in excellent condition; HG is probably the best municipal course in NJ. Im sure the friendly staff is anxious to move from the trailer to the permanent clubhouse in the next 10 days or so.

I always enjoy playing Heron Glen. It has no bad holes and a number of great ones. Very challenging without being unfair. Course was in great shape, greens were very good and the pace of play on this day was less than four hours. Never disappoints.

Great challenging course when there is substantial wind. Conditions are above average and consistent. The new clubhouse was not open as yet, but i am sure once open it will get 5 stars also. A must play course where you should keep it in the fairway.

Greens were IMPOSSIBLE to land any club on. Wedges were bouncing like rubber balls. Other than course was immaculate. Pace of play was great (Marshall’s actually do their job and don’t just pretend).

Trailer is the only eye sore on the whole course and once new clubhouse is done it will be great.

Great municipal course and friendly staff and members.

Played in a three got round in just under 4 hours.

Course was a very interesting layout with some very strong par 5’s.

Would love to play it when greens have fully recovered and new clubhouse completed

I have been wanting to play this course for quite a few years now, glad I finally did, this is a great course , Great layout, challenging, yet very fair, you can score here even with a few errant tee shots, greens are quite big and roll very nice, you can use every club in your bag, staff is extremely friendly, and let me go out 2 hrs early, which most course will not do if you book through golf now! I plan to go back again this Friday, that’s how much I loved this course!!

Played in a scramble tournament. Conditions were excellent throughout. Greens were especially smooth and quick. This course is a must play.

Nice course, 5 par 5's, 5 par 3's - round ran about 4 hours 15 minutes - course was in good shape considering it was February - naturally cart path only. Will play again.
