Continental Country Club

When I booked this course I wondered if the course would be playable. It was very playable. It was setup for play during the pandemic but the greens were in great shape and very quick in pace. Fairways and tees had good grass given our dry winter and the layout is both fair and challenging. Highly recommend it. Very enjoyable to play as a twosome in less than 3 hours and only pay 22$ for both of us using golf now discounts. You just can’t beat it. Thanks for a fun round of golf.

Low on rain this year. Down 6.5 inches per TV weather but course was in good shape and greens were pretty fast and rolled well.

Excellent pace of play, great course with the hot deal price.

Layout is nice, fairways were so so. Ruff was not grass but mainly dirt. Greens were ok but needed to be improved. Felt like hard stone and not greens as are at other clubs. Although not expensive price was high for what you are playing on.

First time playing Continental. Nice layout. Exceeded my expectations. I plan to play the course again.

They have been continuously improving this course for a few years and it definitely shows. Greens are in really nice condition and fairways are mostly good with over seeding. Cost to play has gone up some but it is definitely worth it.

Greens are too fast for high handicap players..good layout.need to soften up all of the Elevated greens..Very Challenging !

Really like the course. Pase of play was a little slow.

We had seven golfers and the gal in the pro shop was so helpful in setting up our group to be able to play close together. She went above and beyond to make our day so enjoyable. All the staff we encountered from pro shop, bar/restaurant, and the starters were very friendly. The course layout was fun, the greens were in good shape except for a couple that had some issues, fairways were in better shape than most of the courses we have played so overall, a great course.

We arrived at noon for a 12:30 time. We were informed that the club runs a 1 p.m. shotgun start. so we had about an hour to kill. Fortunately we did not have any time constraints at the end of the round.

I wanted to put some beverages on the cart, so I went into the grill and was informed there was no take out sales.. There was plenty of water on the course, but if you want something else you better bring it. No beverage cart.

Pace of play was horrid. We were stuck behind a slow foursome. By the second nine there was two full open holes in front of them. No marshalling whatsoever.

Course conditions were fair at best. Fairways and tees were ok but get just a couple of feet off the first cut and there was plenty of bare spots and hard pan. Leaves had not been blown in a while making it hard to spot your ball. Greens were ok, but several had significant bare spots which had been brushed in with green sand to look ok from a distance.

My general impression is this club is run to serve the internal membership and is on a shoestring maintenance budget. We paid $30 and that is what it is worth, even in the high season.

Course layout is weaved through a manufactured home subdivision. If you live in this community, and play for free, it’s worth it. Fairways are not great, greens are ok. The shotgun start is good as keeps pace of play smooth. All in all it was just ok. In the photo attached with this review, you can see the course conditions. If you didn’t hit fairway, you were hitting off of hard, packed surface.

Fairways and greens good off the fairways very thin. Good value for the coat.

The fairways are clean, clear, green grass, beautiful landscape, good mix long and short, only negative is typical Florida greens hard and fest. Certainly not bad conditions. Highly recommended.

Really wanted to rank this course higher based on the quality of the greens, but just couldn't with the courses lack of thick grass on some of the fairways, but not all. Edges of fairways were not very good when we played it. Greens rolled true, were very smooth and held shots hit into them. But, hey roll the ball to where the grass is or hit it straight down the middle and play on!

Layout was enjoyable with dog legs, good water shots and distance especially from white and blue tees. Par 3's were a challenge in the wind the day we played. Clubhouse has lots of merchandise for sale including golf shoes and shirts.

Playing this course on a hot deal rate was a bargain. The history of this course and connection to Mickey Mantle made it a little special. Go play and enjoy Continental Golf, worth the drive and golfing experience.
