Cypresswood Golf & Country Club

The course is in a retirement community, so there was a lot of seniors … even when there was no one in front of them they would not let faster players play trough!! I believe they do not like visitors … so if you’re not in a rush and do not mind waiting for a long period of time and maybe a 4-5 hrs round.

I played here in January 2022 and it was quite good but played here Monday October 24, 2022 and it was in rough conditions. Can't really complain with the price I paid.

I’ve been going to this course for a long time now. Been there at least 10 times. It is one of the closer courses to my home fairways in pretty bad condition overall crabgrass greens in really bad shape would not suggest currently visiting. Don’t know if it has more to do with overall maintenance issues staffing issues but hurricane is not really the main factor. I had a good time pretty empty had the course to myself overall, but would not spend more than $20 to play.

The rate was only $13.00 but the course was not worth that. There was a number of slow groups on the course and we waited on almost every shot. With no one behind us we even tried to play multiple balls and shots and still the group in front of us never got far enough ahead. We quit after hole eight as there were 4 groups playing hole 9. Since we were only playing 9 holes that was fine. Greens were awful and the rough was like a cow pasture. Fairway was full of weeds and hardly playable.

Greens had crab grass growing all over it, All of corse in terrible condition and not because storm passed through 2 weeks prior, restaurant’ not open, they did have mediocre premade sandwiches in club house, driving range was closed, bare spots on greens. Will never go back nor recommend. I used Gold Now app so at least got it cheap but the duped us by posting old photos of the club house and corse. . Mosquitoes EVERYWHERE.

Do not go

The course is in really bad shape. Rough is way too tall, ball won't roll on the fairway, patches of new grass on the greens. Workers on the green while you are playing. Too Many carpath only holes, At least I got a full raincheck due to the conditions. They won't tell you the real condition at the club house. Love the course but someone drop the ball big time. By the way, they started to mess the course even before the hurricane.

The rough is not rough, it’s brutal. 5 feet off the fairway your ball is unfindable. Course would be marginal if they resolve the rough issue. Cart paths are very hard to drive on due to broken concrete and pot holes. Fairways are playable, greens are in need of help. Course layout is its best feature.

An enjoyable course to play with excellent facilities at a reasonable price.. present challenges with strategic bunkers and water hurdles. The greens were well kept and and some were challenging.

Thoroughly enjoyed my game with help from the friendly staff.

Wait a week as the course is flooded at this point, high uncut grass. Hopefully better next week

With all the rain recently, the course was almost unplayable. Water was a problem on the fairways, with little to no roll and drives plugging on the fairways when the ball lands. The rough was out of control and is the course is in desperate need for cutting. Hopefully, when it dries out,the course will return to its earlier state.

The course was in terrible condition. They told me when I checked in for my tee time at 11:00 am that the greens were aerated the night before and they didn’t have a chance to water it in. From what I could see they didn’t even drag them. There were places where the sand was 3/4 of an inch thick. You just couldn’t putt on them. I also don’t think they have mowed the ruff in a month there were spots that it was 2 feet tall right off the fairways. The fairways were cut to what the ruff should have been. Tee boxes weren’t cut and loaded with weeds and goose grass. While playing I only saw one crew member working on the course trying to cit ruff and leaving clumps of grass everywhere. The only thing missing was goats and cows! Don’t waste your time or money to play this course.
