Pace of play horrendous
Fun course, however, pace of place was absolutely horrendous. Played here for the first time today, 1/22. Literally had to wait on every hole and on hole 13 there were 4 groups waiting to tee off. Only ended up playing 14 holes and left after 4.5 hrs..
Very nice course!
In spite of heavy rains earlier in the week, the course was in good shape with few limitations. The only real frustration in playing was the terrible player unwillingness to repair divots on greens! Most I've ever seen on a public golf course! After repairing 8 - 10 or so per green for the majority of the round, I finally gave up on others and only repaired those I made. Come on people!
But, it is a fun course, no doubt.
Great Course, Atrocious Pacing
MM is a great public course for the money with really solid amenities, but they continue to suffer from pacing issues. We were stuck behind an incredibly slow and poor playing foursome today but the “ambassador” wouldn’t talk to them. If you’re not okay with waiting avoid MM.
That being said the course is always really well maintained.
Great staff and course layout
hole no 10 (wtih a big tree in the middle left and a bunker to its right and a very small grees, 12 (they need to open up the left side ore to help pace of play as all slicers will be looking for their balls in the right ditch like area and 13 is unplayable especially which is over 200 yds against the wind always blowing towards the canyon.
other than a joy of a course
Excellent course.
This is a pretty course with challenging narrow holes and elevation changes and fast greens. First time playing for both me and my playing partner. The course was in excellent shape and despite the difficulty and our average scores, we really enjoyed our round and would definitely return.
Course conditions
Very good course. Greens are a bit fast but hold very well. Beer cart was all most non-existent!!! Pace of play was decent.
Very slow pace with 2 groups of people cutting in
The pace of play was quite slow. The group of people in front of us had to wait for the group of 4 people in front of them. The group of people in front of us eventually had to skip holes. Then a new group of 3 appeared from nowhere and cut in front of us. Some time before this, we saw a new group of 4 appeared behind us instead of a single player who was behind us from the beginning. This random order of groups of players and the slow pace seemed quite unpleasant.
Great track
I was never able to play here until a spot opened up on Golfnow. Great course greens were rolling nice and fairly fast. Fairways were nice. I would definitely come here again. Hope to make back there soon.
Fire Ant Problem
I was bit by fire ants from the pedal of cart on my right foot. I had about 7 bites and took 2 weeks to heal. I noticed after my tee shot on 1st hole I was getting bit. I looked down and there were about 100 ants coming though the cracks near the pedal. I jumped out the cart and threw the ice from bucket on cart to get rid of the ants. I am glad that I notice this right away or it could of been worse. I hope this course would clean or make sure the carts are ok for the players. This reason alone I probably would not play here again. Fire ants bites are no fun at all.
Slow Pace
FYI, On Monday mornings a women's golf club saturates the course. It was about 50-70 of them. Pace of play was very slow. Conditions were so/so. Not terrible but could be better. Some brown spots, divots on the tee box.
I can’t remember which holes but it was on the front 9, the tee boxes face each other, just slightly offset, so if you slice, you may hit someone on the other tee box.
Must be a great greens keeper
Another great American golf managed course. San Dimas greens are always fast and smooth, and so is mountain Meadows.
Their greens are the best I've played in terms of conditions regardless of price.
I don't particularly like the course design,, with some fairways very wide and some very narrow, without a consistent reasoning behind it. The roughs were a bit long, and it'll be difficult to find the balls if you're in them. But overall the conditions were great. The tree bosses needed a bit more of a trim, but with the traffic out here it's more than reasonable.
It's one of the good ones out here. By the way, this course has improved tremendously from 10 years ago. It was never this week kept.
MM with Friends
The course does not have marshall to monitor and manage the pace
