Quail Valley Golf Course
About
Quail Valley Golf Course was opened for public play in May of 1994.
This championship links-style course is 30 minutes west of downtown Portland just off of HWY 26. The combination of a country setting and a meticulously maintained course will make your round comfortable and undisturbed by city noise. The flat open look may give you the impression that the course is easy to play. Think again. The confident golfer will be surprised at the many hazards throughout the course.
Several grass mounds and small trees line the fairways, but the main cause for caution is the water and sand. Fairway and green bunkers are everywhere and the stealth-like water hazards are well placed.

Greens always quick and consistant.
I play Quail regularly and am always happy with the conditions of the course. It is set up fairly and the greens always run quick and true. It provides an excellent variety of holes that will test all your skills no matter what level.
Always a good experience.
Grass driving range, and great practice areas for pitching and sand practice. Interesting layout, friendly management. This course is a fair test of ability for all levels and a pleasure to play.
course was in good shape and the greens were fast
it was a nice day and we really enjoyed are time out on the course
This course has great features
Good course , need more improve add more difficulties hole.
Tough Greens
This course was a great purchase. The fairways were constant and the greens got faster the more they dried out.
Greens Are fast!
The cups were in very challenging locations. If your not spot on for putting length you were in trouble. Bring your best game to this course.
Good course for average golfer
Good course for average player. Not many bunkers. Water on some holes can be challenging.
Keep your ball dry and you can score here! This was my second time playing here - and it is becoming a favorite. Nice alternative to Pdx city course.
I tend to get locked into a rotation of 3-4 courses - Quail Valley is a nice change of pace at a reasonable price. Friendly , not too crowded, and our threesome cruised through even with traffic. Plenty of water if you need it - and the trees are growing up on this relatively new course. Highly recommend checking it out!
Great staff and course in good condition
Good course , anytime I have played it has always been windy so makes it challenging
Moderately challenging well maintained course with good value.
I've reviewed before so I won't repeat myself. Suffice to say, I play this course twice a week during good weather.
Windy course with trouble seemingly everywhere.
Very good greens and overall in great shape. Flat course makes walking doable. Wind was a killer on the day I played. The only drawback is the distance from home.
A fair test at a fair price
Quail Valley Golf Course allows golfers of all abilities to have a great golfing experience, I played in a group of three on a Monday morning. The fairways, rough, and greens were well defined and well-maintained; the greens were in especially good shape for spring and had enough breaks and speed to require thought on each putt. The course wasn't crowded, so we played at a very reasonable pace. From the back tees it would have been a stern test, but the middle tees were perfect for my 85 mph swing speed. The staff was great, and the pro shop was well-stocked with reasonably priced supplies and equipment. I was also a fan of the hot dogs at the grill. You can pay more to play golf at several course in this part of Oregon, but I doubt you will find one where you will enjoy a round more.
The greens were in excellent shape for this time of the year
I was very impressed with the condition of the course, and the greens were rolling better than most courses in the valley for the time of year. Good job team Quail Valley!
Great Course
The Course is in great shape! The greens were plugged a cpl weeks ago and already healed and rolling great. The Tee boxes were just plugged, But know worries there. For April the course is in great shape, Bunkers are raked, Fairways are pretty dry. Definately would recommend this course, You can score well there.
Congested on the weekends
My round took over 5 hours. Looking around the course there wasn't a hole that didn't have a back up. Makes me wonder if the tee times are too close. I'd be willing to pay $10 more not to wait. Frustrating because it is a nice course..
A bombers course
A pretty wide open, bombs away course with holes that vary from pretty easy to very difficult. With a breeze that seems to always be in your face, the long par 4's can be very challenging.
Excellent pin placement on greens.
Greens were recently arreated so there were a bit slow. Great course otherwise.
This is a great walking course
Quail Valley is one of my favorite courses in the Portland Metropolitan area. Some holes are easy with wide fairways; others are challenging with tight fairways, water and bunkers. The course is in great condition considering the amount of rain we've had. In the summer it is a glorious course to play. The wildlife is phenominal. Staff are friendly and helpful. Just a great experience.
Good course. Soggy in winter
This is a links-style course. It well outside of the Portland area but not which make it less enticing unless you already live in Beaverton/ Aloha/ Hillsboro, etc. The course is well maintained and has a decent practice area. In the winter, drainage is definitely not as good as some other courses. The ground is boggy and very soft on and off the fairways. The greens were okay, though.
nice greens
Typical winter mush as with all Oregon courses right now but the green play was well kept ,clean, and enyoyable.
The bunker on the 4th only had about an inch of sand at the bottom
I took 3 beginners there (3-16-13) and we couldn't have had a better time.
