Quail Valley Golf Course
About
Quail Valley Golf Course was opened for public play in May of 1994.
This championship links-style course is 30 minutes west of downtown Portland just off of HWY 26. The combination of a country setting and a meticulously maintained course will make your round comfortable and undisturbed by city noise. The flat open look may give you the impression that the course is easy to play. Think again. The confident golfer will be surprised at the many hazards throughout the course.
Several grass mounds and small trees line the fairways, but the main cause for caution is the water and sand. Fairway and green bunkers are everywhere and the stealth-like water hazards are well placed.

This course is fun to play, the greens were in great shape
Play was a bit slow yesterday, but the course was quit busy. I enjoy the receptive fairways, as you don't get in big trouble for a missed shot. There were some soft spots where the ball plugged, but we have had a lot of rain, again, the greens were in great shape, fast & smooth for the conditions.
Great layout.
Course was in great shape given the time of year. Greens were smooth and putted true. Has some long par fours that were very difficult this tie of year.
The course is in terrific shape, and the staff are most helpful.
This course is kept in excellent condition, is moderately challenging, and is not overcrowded.
Fun Course, Slow Play
The course is fun but too difficult for the beginning golfer. Unfortunately many slow golters are on the course and the course doesn't have marshalls. The course has water and areas to hit over to reach fairways, both of which slow down play at times. I would play the course more often if the pace of play were better. Also they make no effort to keep the young 18 years old hackers to hit from the blues slowing down play even more.
The course itself is great with longish fours where you need to get off the tee because of a carry over water for a second. Also many doglegs and difficult rough. Bring a lot of balls with you When the wind blows you have all the course you can handle, The greens are usually in good shape,,. I have played it about a dozen times over the years.
Don't play this course unless you are patient about slow play.
great condition for December in Oregon
It was a balmy 34 degrees at tee off the course was well drained and the greens amazing for this time of year. I play this course all year periodically and it never disappoints
Great winter value
Quail Valley is always well-maintained and a good test with wonderfully manicured greens, rolling fairways and scenic backgrounds. While the fairways were wet on Friday and the ball plugged semi-regularly off the tee, conditions were still reasonable considering the amount of rain the area had taken in the preceding days. For the $21 we paid for unlimited golf — though we stopped after 18 holes — it was a great bargain.
If you like the added challenge of wind
Nice links style track that still is searching for identity with regards to the interest level of the holes. May be a tad overpriced, but staff is good, practice area is great and greens well maintained. Kinda far from my house so unlikely I will play any time soon plus I am not a great fan of the wind which locals tell me never stops.
Hard to be acurate as it was so wet and cold..... :)
Had a great day on the course..... Greens were very nice (read and hit a couple nice 30' plus putts. We had a great time...
wide open course
A must play course, you can play from the tips which makes it more challenging. but from the whites is plenty enough. Recommend to all.
Above average - one of my favorites
Quail Valley has all the amenities (including range, chip, putt practice), above average in every way, with a pretty casual atmosphere.
It's a very nice place to be ... few trees, nice valley-views, water (on several holes) brings a variety of uncommon birds.
Interesting course layout, a nice variety of holes, always well-maintained, great staff.
Fair course with just enough areas to get into trouble
Excellent and well maintained course. Very good rolling greens. Grass driving range. Grass pitching and bunker area.
Players of all caliber can enjoy Quail!
One of my favorite course to take friends for a relaxing round. From the back tee's there is not much difference in yardage to the white tee's with the exception of a a few holes. I like coming to Quail to work on my game. They have a great practice area with turf (no matts) hitting areas, chipping green, and seperate putting green. The condition this year has been very good. the course is flat and can be easily walked.
This is one of my favorite courses to play
This is one of my favorite courses to play. The pace of play is generally good and the staff is very friendly and helpful. It's a fairly forgiving course off the tees with wide fairways but has plenty of water hazards to make it interesting and challenging. It's well maintained and very scenic.
Just right, not to hard, not to easy
Quail Valley is a great course with its easy holes and challenging holes. The greens are always great whenever I have played them. If the wind is blowing the course can play very difficult. Mornings are the best time to play if you want to avoid the wind. Its worth the drive out to banks to play this very nice course.
Forgiving, yet challenging
One thing you can always count on at Quail Valley is the condition of the course. Greens are pristine, fairways are excellent. Bunkers are fair. They're are holes that give you a chance to score, and yet, there are others that challenge even the best of golfers. Try the blue tees, it is challenging and enjoyable. You can't go wrong at Quail Valley.
we had already played 36 holes that day,so we were a little tired which made looking for balls that were not that far of the fairway a bother.
nice course rude counter help, we had played 36 holes at 2 different courses earlier that day so we arrived with 5 minutes before tee time and the man at your pro shop mentioned rather rudely that if we were not ready to tee we would lose our tee time and not be able to golf......what ever
