Quail Valley Golf Course
About
Quail Valley Golf Course was opened for public play in May of 1994.
This championship links-style course is 30 minutes west of downtown Portland just off of HWY 26. The combination of a country setting and a meticulously maintained course will make your round comfortable and undisturbed by city noise. The flat open look may give you the impression that the course is easy to play. Think again. The confident golfer will be surprised at the many hazards throughout the course.
Several grass mounds and small trees line the fairways, but the main cause for caution is the water and sand. Fairway and green bunkers are everywhere and the stealth-like water hazards are well placed.

Haven't played here n a few years
Greens were perfect, fast but true, and hard to read little small breaks. Love it. Shot in the mid 80"s,had 3 three putts and one in the water. Ouch. "I'll Be Back!"
Slow slow slow
5 and a half hours. Terrible and inexcusable. Tou cannot get into any groove or flow at that speed. Three separate tournaments at one time and no marshaling whatsoever. Not going back anytime soon.
Great course to play in Oregon
The course is always in great shape. One of my favorite places to play in Oregon
Great course!
Very well maintained course with plenty of challenges for any skill level.
Windy Day in banks
Got a hot deal and invited a friend that had never been there. I had played it 5 or 6 years ago. The greens are memorable for Oregon. Some of the best I think. Not as icy quick as last time by my memory but they were still rolling quick compared to other courses I play a lot.
We got there early and hit the range. 5 bucks for what was more balls than I could hit ! Awesome !
Playing partner had a hotdog and said it was great.
It was very windy this day, but sunny and 70's. I am nursing a bad left elbow and will be till I shut it down for several weeks. I have nothing but a nice sweeping slice to play with.
Got around in 88 from the golds.
Made the 232yd par 3 but 3 putted for bogey ! dang darn it !
Partner said he had never played on greens that nice before. So he was delighted we made the drive.
One warning,: lots of hidden little pot hazards on your tee shots, be aware !
All in all a great afternoon.
Fun Course
Fairly straight forward course. There is water on several holes, both on the right and left which require pretty straight shots.. A couple of the par 3's are long which added to the difficulty. The course would be easy to walk as it is fairly flat. I chose to ride however. The fairways and greens were in great shape and the rough was manageable. I will play there again..
Going downhill
Fairways are in very tough shape. Many places are bone dry and other spots you can plug in the fairway. Tee boxes on multiple holes are void of grass. Most of the bunkers are packed wet sand. I have played this course for over 8 years and this was the first time this year. Very disappointed to see what was a great course go downhill. Also noticed small things like the men's room tile broken or missing and the place was filthy. My suggestion is to play Meriwether or forest hills instead
Great course for the money
Very fun, and relatively easy design. Greens were in great shape and very difficult (fast/dry).
Great course to play
We have played here but not recently and I would have to say I enjoyed this round of golf much better than when I played before. A good course for a beginner as well as an experienced golfer. Would suggest putting some snacks on the refreshment cart, considering you are limited what you can order at the turn.
Staff and conditions are excellant
Very much enjoy this course especially for the value.
rough fairways
This course is usually in better condition than most, but not now. Many of the fairways are rough around the edges. I suggest you establish a group rule that if you are in the fairway that the ball may be moved to the nearest spot of grass no closer to the hole. Should be a course rule at this point.
Great Course
Wind comes into play specially in the afternoon. But overall it's a great course. Great Staff and food is excellent.
Great all around course
This course is in excellent shape right now. Dry, fast fairways paired with forgiving and true greens made for a very enjoyable experience yesterday. Every criteria offered is 5 stars, but overall I gave it 4 because I believe the layout could be a little better, but that is not the fault of any of the staff involved, nor the playing conditions, nor the value, which were all as good as it gets.
great venue for variety and scenery
Played this course on a west coast trip. Booked after reading reviews online. Loved the course. Fairways were in excellent condition. greens were fast but true. Pace of play was somewhat slow at first, but picked up on the back nine. Some very interesting holes.
Great day for good golf
Course was in good shape. Pace of play a little slow due to group in front using phone app on every shot to get yardage, even from 275 yards out. Marshall tried to speed them along but to no avail. Greens were smooth and quick. This is a nice course that can challenge all handicaps. The par 5's provide good scoring chances and a couple of the par 4's can play long from the tips. I'll play this course whenever I can.
Soggy
It was very windy and the course was over watered.
best value in Portland
amazing course for the money. classic links layout and the wind is often up. plenty of water and tall grass to avoid but very fair overall.
fun day
course fun to play. greens and fringes in great condition. several fairways were drying up from the heat.
Above Average Course
Great greens, wide open layout. A great value for your money.
Great course on a hot day!
This is a fairly straight forward "links" type course that can be somewhat challenging if you've never played it before. The greens were in great condition and were fairly fast with a true roll.
