Mystic Golf Club

Mystic is one of the most beautiful and challenging courses I have ever played. Hole variety and conditions were excellant. Because of the difficulty, pace of play is always the issue at Mystic. There are many on-course marshalls available but it would appear that their main focus is to put their hours in to receive their free golf. Between a two-some in front of us holding up the entire back nine and the group behind us hitting into us, they backed off once confronted, the marshalls just stared into oblivion planning their next free round.

don't consider playing here if you cant hit the ball 200 yds in the air off the tee. Half a dozen holes have long carries (150-200 yds) from the tee box. If you miss the fairway more than 10 yds you are likely in deep fescue or woods. Course was full on a beautiful Sunday which meant 5+ hour round.

Course conditions were very good. Tee boxes were used but find a piece of grass and it was fine. Not a course to just bang away and hope but have to look and plan your shots. Great looking course. will be back.

I really like this course, it is a great challenge for a single digit handicap from the golds. There are really unique layouts, with some great risk reward. Chance to find your ball and pitch out/take your medicine. I was disappointed and surprised about 2 things, this my 4th time at Mystic. 1 - the greens were not rolling great, as previous trips. 2 - IMHO the course marshall could have done a better job, in spurring on the 4some, 4 groups ahead. All groups waited on every tee and fairway, while the 4th group ahead was clearly taking their time, with open holes ahead of them. Irrespective of the long weekend and mid morning tee off, marshall could have moved them along. Painful 5+ hr round, which we have easily played in less than 4.5 before.

Clubhouse staff was great, starter was funny and accommodationg, course was in beautiful shape but the marshall was very unprofessional. we were the second to last group of the day and he followed my group and the one behind us(last group) from the 3rd hole on. We knew with a 5:40pm tee time we wouldnt get in 18 holes but the marshall kept suggesting we end our round after 9. i realize you want to go home but i am a paying customer. he finally told us after the 14th hole we didnt have a choice and we had to leave. This "gentlemen" will probably deter me from coming back, which is a shame becuase everything else about the course, facilities and staff were 5 star.

Mystic is a challenging course but not unfair. The course is generally in a good state of repair. Pace of play is slow due to the layout of the course.

Tee time was delayed by 25 mins. My understanding from one of the employees was that someone didn't open the gate on time so they started the day 1 hour behind schedule.!

Very good layout of holes and very challenging.

Good value for quality of course design and maintenance conditions.

The course was in good condition, however the twosome that they put us with made the round less than enjoyable. Talking continually during my shot's, walking out in front of the line of play while looking for their ball, etc.
Other wise the course is a great play.
Will play again in the future.

Great course, will play more conservatively next time around..

-Spectacular course layout
-Great condition with a few exceptions
-A must play again
-Not a lot of facilites (club house, washrooms, etc) so don't expect a lot of of course experience.
- Bunkers are a little suspect.

Difficult for the first time, but to play again the second time will be a real treat now that I know the course.
Make sure to play the correct set of tees - choose one set less than you think you would otherwise play.

Bring lots of balls. Please don't look for your balls, just drop and play - otherwise it slows play down considerably.

Staff was great. They also had a ball spotter/marshall on the course to help speed up play. Our play was a little slow but because of the blokes we got paired up with.

I played Mystic for the first time this week, and it was quite a treat. The course has a great variety of holes, but does tend to be quite difficult. You have to constantly be thinking about every shot, or you will suffer and scores will be high. Overall this is a fantastic course; conditions, staff, and location are perfect.

This is an amazing golf course and as challenging as any that you'll play.

Our outing would have been very good except for the facts that they try to squeeze as many players as possible (impossible) onto the course. AND...THEY DON'T SEEM TO CARE ABOUT THE COURSE CONDITION...or, the patrons enjoyment of what should be a memorable day.

I have raved about this course to all my golfing buddies, for years. I won't be doing that anymore...it was very disappointing!!!

The Course is a real bargain. When you drove up you question what you may be in for but they obviously put all their money into keeping the course in great shape.
The course is challenging but fair. Hardly anyone was playing so the pace was great. The only issue was the marshall had little to do so for a while he was following us around like a fore caddy. Can be a little unsettling as you think you are being watched for pace of play or something even though we were playing quickly.
Only complaint would be the beverage cart showed up on the 7th and 17th holes only.

The course is ok but i have played better.
There is nothing like being rushed or being watched by the course range on multiple holes to throw your game off.
I talked to other friends that have played this course and they have also have had the unfortunate experience to be rushed. What's changed between this year and last year. Gried
There are too many courses around that i do enjoy playing so i am done with this one.

Probably the best property that golf north owns. I would definitely recommend it to average to better golfers. Probably not the best choice for a new golfer

Would love to play this course everyday, very well kept and a good test of skill with great greens!

The course is beautiful, well maintained and very difficult. The tee-off at 18 is daunting unless you are a long hitter. There are a lot of blind shots and forced carries, so get a yardage booklet to get a better idea of club selection and landing areas. Unfortunately the clubhouse facilities are minimal at best and the only thing holding back a 5 star review. The course is a "must play" in my mind.

Great piece of property. Out their alone with mother nature. Other than holes 5,6, and 8 (straightforward, cookie cutter par 4s) there was a good variety of hole designs. A few middle of the fairway bunkers, fairway carries over gorse led to some well protected greens and fun holes. Lots of carry off tee, depending on the box. But mostly fair t shots and very fair par 3s.
I played the silver-gold combo.
Tough course to walk. Cart paths in good shape.
Nothing fancy about Clubhouse, T boxes etc. Who cares??
