Good course - same management
Golf course was wet but in good shape although the rough was really deep. Still disorganized at the course. Groups waiting to tee off but no carts available. After being open this long you would think they have this figured out. It is not the first time. Great course to show where your game is at. Tenth hole is still the hardest par 5 there is.
"So Dissapointed"
Where do I begin..... At scheduled tee time there were 4 groups of 4 waiting , practice greens had two holes on each green , course was covered in dried cut grass , rough was not cut properly in many places , bunkers were hard and had crevices in them , was cart path only course was still soggy in places , green we're very messy and lots of dead spots ' round took 5 hrs 20min , seen the cart girl after 12th hole . What a. Shame for such a tough track . Reminded us of some off the beat and track course in the middle of nowhere opening for the first day at $20 . P.s we had not played this course in about 10 years since it opened , they still have the same clubhouse. " a mobile home trailer "
Very challenging track
I am writing this to those who have never played Mystic, I have played here at least 50 times and it is never easy. It is a true challenge and as many have already mentioned play the tees that suit your handicapp. Many carries are just to long for the occasional golfer and if it gets windy, it makes it that much more of a challenge. The 9th and 10th holes are where you can really blow up and care should be taken on both. Bring lots of balls because there is a good chance you will need them. If you like a fantastic layout, good fairways and greens with a variety of holes, then Mystic is for you.
Keep it in the Middle
Loved this course. Lotsa long carries. Unfortunately my driver wasn't cooperating and it cost me in strokes and lost balls. Cart path only really slowed things down. 5.5 hour round. I was surprised that the par 3's weren't longer. Definitely play it again when it dries out. Not a beginner friendly venue.
The one of a kind 6 hour round of golf
Course was okay but the pace of play was horrible. 6hours was way too long and people behind us were leaving because of it. They could book less tee times and have a marshall hurrying people up. It felt like forever. Course was okay conditions, for some reason they don't cut the rough and leave clippings all over the fairway. Seems as though the standards have changed since last year when I golfed there.
Nice but Slow
It was a beautiful day but started out by all tee times in the morning being 40 minutes late??
took 6 hours to play 18 holes and we were not being held up nor were we holding up players behind us. Everyone I talked to said it was difficult to find balls and play out of the feskew.
Course is extremely challenging with tight fairways and feskew? more like extremely long grass and weeds. The pros would die if they got into this stuff as you cannot find your ball and if you do, it is not really playable.
The course was wet so it was cart path only which also made it very challenging. The course is hilly and with the long rough I found it difficult to play having to bring 2-3 clubs to where I thought my ball might be.
I love the course however and it is not for the intermediate player and not for cart path only. The conditions of greens were excellent
If we are experiencing a drought play Mystic!
The course was saturated with water everywhere! We had to play "cart path only" golf. At Mystic that means driving all over the place but never anywhere convenient to play the holes. On most occasions you have to guess where your shot ended up, grab several clubs and go for lengthy hikes while you try to find your ball then orient youself to what kind of shot is next. If you are going over the river and through the woods to find grandma, the paths are great but, for a golf course they are ridiculous!
Great Spring Conditions at Mystic
I was apprehensive about playing golf after hearing so many stories of golf courses that have many temp greens and water, ice damage. I was pleasantly surpeised that Mystic was in exceptional shape. Yes, there was lots of soggy fairways ( cart path only for the whole course, understandable) the tees, greens, and fairways were in great shape. I was most impressed with the greens. I will be back this year for sure.
Nice course
The golf course itself was very nice...greens and fairways in excellent condition. My only negative was it was extremely over booked and play time was long. It took us almost 6hours to play 18 holes.
Great Work on the Maintenance
I say kudos to the groundskeepers at Mystic. Despite the terrible conditions lately after a rough winter, the course was in very good shape. Great work.
Excellent this time of the year!
Terrific shape....great company....some very challenging holes....not into weed control on the drive in......never did get a decent clubhouse....greens awesome shape.....soggy, but terrific....more a man's course than a ladies.
Has many good features
Nice track with many challenging holes. Some long carries so be sure to play the tees that suit your handicap.
Great course.
Love the course and will play again, soon.
Some tough carries and long par 4's. Make sure you play the correct tee blocks.
Beautiful fairways and nice greens.
Course was in great shape for this time of year.
Thanks.
Great Day To Play
Excellent day to play, love this course, very challenging for an average player like myself. Greens are perfect, soft sand in the bunkers, overall course in very very good condition.
Mystic always a challenge
Considering our spring weather, Mystic, as compared to many other courses, is in good shape. Was fairly wet and soggy so Cart Path only, which on this course is a real pain. It was real windy so a very challenging outing.
We did front 9 in 2 hrs and the ran into 2 slow grups so back 9 was slow and lots of waiting.
A great Challenge, but not for everyone.
Excellent, challenging layout designed by a former Nicklaus Design associate. Always in great condition and usually not very busy which means rounds under 4.5 hours. Some long carries from the tee and on a few approaches. Course requires every club in your bag. Some great risk reward holes that look easy but will destroy you if you are marginally off line. Give Mystic a try. You won't be disappointed.
Bring your A through A+++ game
This course is target golf at its best. Long hitters have an advantage on some holes. MAKE SURE YOU PLAY FROM YOUR PROPER TEE BOX. Tee box choice makes a HUGE difference here. Lots of risk v reward opportunities. 9, 10, and 17 are favorites. Each very challenging, but playable. Highly recommend playing the course at least twice to get an understanding of the course. Greens rolled fast and true though a few had bare spots on the fringe. The bunkers were not in great condition. Pace of play was slow 1 out of the 3 times I visited the course (5 hrs) . Plenty of opportunities to build frustration and boost confidence. Bring balls and enjoy the ride. *Playing this course on a windy day is punishing; our group saw deer crossing the cart path @ 18*
This course has tight fairways, lots of bunkers and plays long.
This course has tight fairways, lots of bunkers and plays long. IT's very challenging!
Great course, but 2 holes need ajustement
It is a great design, lots of really nice holes, especially on the back nine.
I have played this course twice this year and both times the course was in a very good condition.
It is a tough course but holes 9 and 10 are unfair!
Number 9 is a 426 yard par 4 with a huge fairway bunker in the middle of the fairway at 220 from the tee box leaving you about 15 yards each side of that bunker to land safely.
This hole is tough enough without that fairway bunker!
Number 10 is very long par 5 even though you hit a really good tee shot, on your second shot, you got to hit at least 210 to carry a creek; most of the time you are forced to lay up and play for the boggy.
The tee box should be closer to the creek.
Mashall driving around was great!
$60 for a end of season golf when Greens are aerated and in rough shape is not worth it. Staff is nice but the manager there is rude an could care less. Would not return on a perfect day at half price.
