About
Ballantrae Golf Course is an 18-hole championship course with a classic links layout reminiscent of those found in Scotland. The golf course has undulating greens, many of which are elevated, and the player-friendly fairways are quite generous. The layout is challenging with more than 50 acres of water hazards and treacherous greenside bunkers. The front nine gently eases you into the game, but the back nine is where the golf course truly shines, especially holes 11-14. Ballantrae Golf Course boasts interesting risk-and-reward opportunities combined with shots that will appeal to long hitters. There are also three tee decks for golfers to choose from.

A really good course
Challenging course for the average golfer. Very well maintained with good practice facility

it was a best course I've been in GTA.
Flat and boring, with very long walks between holes.
A course I won't play again. Its not worth the money, nor the hassle to get there. If you are walking the course, the walks between holes are very long. The course was in decent condition, for early in the season, but all in is flat and somewhat dull.
Hidden Gem
Tee times don't often show up but when they do, we try to grab it while we can. Even though this is a real estate development, it's not like most where it feels like they plunked a golf course within a housing complex or crowded a course by putting up houses everywhere. This is actually a very nice course that plays well and you only feel like you're in a housing development on a few occasions.
We played on a very cold and wet day so the round was lightning quick (no one ahead of us). Even in such wet and cold Fall conditions, the course was in fantastic shape with greens still true and fast.
We actually don't want to write this review or tell anyone about this because getting on is hard enough!

Just played in cold rainly afternoon. Fairway condition is very good and not wet at all. Green is not aerated even during end of season. Very good pace and finished less than 4 hours (may be due to weather condition)
Quality Carrick course in the GTA.
Carrick has designed Eagles Nest, Angus Glen,& Copper Creek in the GTA. Ballantrae is half the price.The course is challenging with Carrick's signature bunkering, and greens that are like inverted ceramic bowls.The back nine is more challenging than the front and more enjoyable especially 11&12.The club house has a decent restaurant and bar overlooking the 18 th green and its large water hazard.
The course is very quiet and well managed.
This course has wide fairway and well managed green. Above all, they kept fairway condition very well. Bunkers around green might give players a little challenge. Course encourage the players to keep the course nice, and respect other players.
Fair Course
I enjoy playing this course because it offers a fair test for the average golfer. It is a fun course to play because you can miss fairways but still play the ball. Fairways are generous and the greens are tough but fair. The food is excellent. Ballantrae offers one of the best golf courses and food experiences at a reasonable price. It is also always in excellent condition. I have played here many times and I have not had a negative experience.
1st time out. Look forward to playing here again
Got hung-out on a couple holes for lack of local knowledge. Beautiful design, can't wait to get back. Awesome deal for this caliber of course.
