About
The Classic Golf Club in Spanaway sprawls across rolling hills blanketed with towering Douglas firs. Located just 30 minutes south of Tacoma, it is one of the area's hidden gems, offering not only a beautiful natural setting but also a challenging round. The layout features elevated greens, tree-lined fairways, and ponds and wetlands that come into play on several holes. The greens are the most challenging element of the golf course. Some are small, which is tough enough to maneuver as it is, and most are framed by mounding. Sand bunkers also provide contrast against the smooth and fast-rolling greens. The Classic is a challenging course but still playable for all skill levels.

Need a driving range back.
This course ins really fun, much harder than the Executive 9 at High Cedars, lol. My wife and I enjoyed it and plan to return soon. Wish they could do a driving range somehow again. Need that for the complete package. Great practice greens and chipping areas, yellow tee boxes felt like after thoughts.

A layout this tough should be in better condition.
Dry conditions are understandable. But plastic sheeting seen coming thru the bunkers with rocks. Random pot holes in the fairways. Amongst plenty of other things.
Sad really. I suspect it’s going the same route as other courses that have sold out to developers.
Greens are good though!
Good course for us
This course could use more directional signs and repair leaking sprinklers, but it was good for us. Rough is not unplayable, much of it mowed. Greens in good shape. I like it and will play again

It has been many years since I last played this course and some changes were made which made things different and unfamiliar

$30 course that charges $50 plus cart. Short track only pulled driver out 3 times
Hidden Gem
This course is better then all other courses within a 15 mile radius. I love playing here! It’s challenging with many elevation changes and few truly flat spots. The greens are tricky at times but fair. The staff that works here are very casual and friendly Joe and Neal are awesome! They have a nice little pro shop with great gear and everything you might need for your round. The price is very fair for what you get and cheaper then some neighboring courses. This course feels very secluded when you play it. Very few houses on the course and lots of trees… but way less then 10years ago
Great price
This course was great value for the Seattle area. There is no driving range which sucks and didn't see a beverage cart on course. Couple different practice greens. The deck at the proshop needs work. Greens were in great condition. Otherwise a very enjoyable round of golf.
