About
The Classic Golf Club in Spanaway sprawls across rolling hills blanketed with towering Douglas firs. Located just 30 minutes south of Tacoma, it is one of the area's hidden gems, offering not only a beautiful natural setting but also a challenging round. The layout features elevated greens, tree-lined fairways, and ponds and wetlands that come into play on several holes. The greens are the most challenging element of the golf course. Some are small, which is tough enough to maneuver as it is, and most are framed by mounding. Sand bunkers also provide contrast against the smooth and fast-rolling greens. The Classic is a challenging course but still playable for all skill levels.

They finally put sand in bunkers, if they charged a little less I would rate it a 7 or 8
Nice and Friendly
Great course, staff was friendly and welcoming! Price can be a little steep for the quality of the course but with no issues at all and as mentioned above the friendly staff, it makes up for it!
Definitely will play again!
Very nice
Nice fairways! Greens very true and in good shape!! Thank you
Ready to build houses
I went to the golf course and 70 feet from the clubhouse was a brand new house being built. They changed the entire golf course putting in several hills and it was very confusing finding the next hole to play. I was exhausted after nine holes due to all the extra walking. I told the guy at the counter I couldn’t go anymore and he just said OK. He didn’t careThat I spent $31 to play he just looked at me like get the heck out of here who cares. I will never play this course again and they might as well put in the houses because I think it’s going to sell and the place is gonna be housed very soon.
Good condition
The course is in good condition, especially the greens. Bunkers are in decent shape.
Great attention to detail
Beautifully manicured. Designed to keep your attention. A bit too short for my taste, but that doesn’t take away from the experience at all. You have to think your way through it and hit precise shots into greens surrounded by trouble. Rolling hills and subtle details will bring me back. Number 18 under renovation due to houses being built. Putting/chipping greens are top notch. No range. You can tell Ryan Moore had some input on the structure of the course. It definitely has the touch of someone who wanted to give us common folk a taste of the tour.
