Southbrook Golf and Country Club
About
Nestled in the quaint village of Binbrook, Southbrook Golf & Country Club has a charmingly idyllic yet convenient location that is only minutes from the QEW, the 403, and the Lincoln Alexander Parkway. The club first opened in 1969 with a nine-hole golf course, which was later expanded to 18 holes in 1972. A renovation of the golf course resulted in a redesign of five holes on the front nine and a new irrigation system. Southbrook Golf & Country Club now plays to a 6,560 yards and its new challenges demand precision and keen course strategy. The meandering Welland river snakes through the golf course as well, coming into play on 13 holes while also enhancing the natural beauty of the course.

A green isle in a drought plagued summer
My first outing at Southbrook with my playing partner was only marred by one incident when one of the two golfers playing ahead of us blissfully talked on his cell phone while we waited behind the tee. This was obviously no fault of the course or the staff who were most friendly and helpful.
SB is a challenging layout which is in immaculate condition despite the dry summer. Both the fairways and greens were lush and the greens held well and putted true. Unfortunately, a few of the greens had been top dressed and some others were in the process. A creek runs through the course and comes into play a number of times especially on the shorter back nine.
My one negative observation of the course is the lack of bunkering particularly on the par fives most of which were very bland to play.
Both my playing partner and myself are looking forward to returning to SB on another GN Hot Deal.
great course to play
I booked on golf now the morning of. It was wide open and they allowed me to tee off right away. I played 18 holes with a cart by myself. I played 2 or 3 balls at a time. It was great until I hit the 10th hole and they allowed 2 women to jump in front of me and that was the end of my fluent round that was going great. I got frustrated because of this. They should have waited until I passed and then let them go. But overall the course was in great shape on the front and ok on the back.
Great time
Everything was perfect I would highly recommend attending this course
Good walking course
Good walking course ...slower pace on weekends
Great course for all types of players
The course was in really good shape. The only suggestion to Southbrook is that they need to water down the tee off blocks as it was difficult to place a tee! Other than that, everything was great.
Southbrook Golf Course
The course layout has improved over the years but it was very dried out - tee boxes and fairways were rock hard.
There was a very slow foursome in front of my two-some (my wife and I) and there were two (2) two-somes behind us.
Slow Day
Played on a Tuesday afternoon. Senior's Day was in front of us and pace of play was extremely slow. Had to wait on almost every hole. Other than that it was fine.
Good day of golf
The course was very enjoyable. The staff were very helpful and friendly, well worth the price. I will be playing there again.
Michael Steele
good variance of different holes
Hot dry day lot of roll in fairways, greens slow but with some subtle breaks, keep it in the fairway lot of trees on sides
Good family day out!
It was early for the greens but they were in decent shape. The weather cut our round short. We will return again. They had a great Mother's Day Special.
Good Course
Good value. Nice condition. Food was excellent. Will return for sure.
...first time at the course.
For a first time at the course, the course was just fantastic. It challenges you all the time. You need to play smart golf otherwise the so easy looking holes can get you :)
All par 5s can be reached in 2 making it for fun scoring day.
All and all, the course layout is great, the greens for this early in the year are great!
I would highly recommend at least trying it out.
Southbrook is the best deal going!!!
Haven't played here in a while but I hear they are under new ownership and it shows. New owners must know a little about golf and customer service. Despite being late in the season, they are still running a tight ship with the course maintenance and show great appreciation for their customers. The course itself was well maintained and no leaf rule was necessary!!! I'll be back.!!

There is more to golf than the course!
All round this course is just great. It's not just about the wonderful course itself but the staff and regulars who make you feel like family: welcoming and encouraging. It is a favourite.
Enjoyable course
Nice course. Greens are challenging..friendly staff.
Friendly service, slow play
Booked a tee time, course then moved it 35 minutes later which was fine. Ended up following a group of seven playing as a foursome and threesome, played very slow and would not allow my threesome to play through. The round took over five hours although there was no group ahead of the foursome slowing them down. The course advertises a 4H15M expectation at the first tee, but no one was out enforcing this. Fairways were inconsistent; some crab grass that was more like rough, and other baked earth patches. Need to water more.
The clubhouse, restaurant, and drink cart staff were all extremely friendly.
Great day
Just loved the way the course was maintained. The tee boxes were great, the fairways were mostly a nice layer of grass, but the greens were surprising, in that they were a near excellent shape. The course was challenging - whites over 6,200 yards, creeks, hilly terrain, with some long par 3 and par 4 holes. Enjoyed the company which were strangers and the round.
great shape
Course is in the best shape it has been in the last few years starters guys r great enjoyed playing this course
Good Course
Course was in very good shape for how dry the area has been. Greens were in good shape and rolled pretty well. Staff is friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back and play
Course maintenance
The only thing to gripe about was the maintenance staff holding up play. Just my thought, cutting of the greens should be done early in the morning not during the prime time of the morning or at least move off the greens and allow the players to play through, not make them wait on the tee block for 15 minutes and slow the play on a busy Saturday morning.
