Southbrook Golf and Country Club
About
Nestled in the quaint village of Binbrook, Southbrook Golf & Country Club has a charmingly idyllic yet convenient location that is only minutes from the QEW, the 403, and the Lincoln Alexander Parkway. The club first opened in 1969 with a nine-hole golf course, which was later expanded to 18 holes in 1972. A renovation of the golf course resulted in a redesign of five holes on the front nine and a new irrigation system. Southbrook Golf & Country Club now plays to a 6,560 yards and its new challenges demand precision and keen course strategy. The meandering Welland river snakes through the golf course as well, coming into play on 13 holes while also enhancing the natural beauty of the course.

a little on the rough side
fairways were rough.... greens were ok... good layout... fun course to play
An excellent course in great condition
The course was in great shape. Mature course with lots of trees. Small but well manicured greens
not a bad track for the value..
Track was is in okay condition despite of the heat wave it endured in the last couple of weeks. I recommend that u play the tips to get a better feel of its true yardage. Overall for $39 under golf now it's worth the drive and time.
Good course for beginners and intermediate golfers.
There are some challenging holes, Staff are friendly.
Great course for a quick round
I've played at Southbrook for many years. Not so often in the last 10-12 years though. The course is fairly wide open with trouble looming if you stray too much. The greens are great....receptive and very smooth. The tee boxes were a little chewed up on this day but one could still find an area to tee up their ball. What they really lack is a great irrigation system. Being out in the country, they don't have anyplace to draw enough water to make this a "lush" golf course. The fairways tend to be a little hard. However, for a short hitter like myself, I appreciate the extra 20-30 yards that I get on my drives!!. Like I said, the greens are receptive so it doesn't alter your game too much. It's a very decent track and it is fun to play
Nice staff, poor course conditions
The staff and clubhouse at Southbrook were both very nice. Unfortunately the same couldn't be said about the course conditions. The course had so much potential with beautiful lies, but unfortunately it looked like the grass hadn't been watered anywhere other than the tee blocks and greens. I know the rain hasn't been of much help but the conditions were unacceptable for the price.
Enjoyed it.
Great layout, great staff. Great value. My only complaint is the fairways were a little dry from lack of rain and watering. Ill be back for sure though.
The friendliest staff!!!
This is a great course, with a moderate challenge, however they overbook the times, and the game can move quite slow. The marshall needs to be out more on the course to tell people to move along instead of spending 10 minutes looking for a ball.
If we return for a twilight, I would do the back nine first, as that is where all the big trees are and it gets dark quickly.
nice course
Nice course to play! Very challenging greens, very slow round this day
Reasonably priced, friendly course.
Southbrook is rarely affected by rain or storm due to excellent drainage.
Staff is very friendly & very accommodating (something for instance sorely missing with Flambrough Hills -a course very comparable in difficulty & maintenance. Also SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than Southbrook).
Another nice feature this time of the year late in afternoon (when I like to play) -mosquitoes are not too annoying) esp compared to some other local courses.
All in all -solid course & excellent value. WE all enjoyed it.
great coarse for the $. Very accomadating staff.
Have enjoyed this golf coarse for a # of years. They changed around some of the back 9 holes to make it more challenging and I think to speed up play. I would recommend this coarse to anyone . Staff are very friendly and obliging. Don
Very Nice
Have played here many times over the years and enjoy the layout as well as the look many old large trees and water comes into play often. Excellent course.
Great Scenery
A beautiful course for a great price. Super friendly staff with well maintained grounds and fantastic greens. I'll be back a few more times this year.
Good shape, medium challenge, overall very nice.
Slow round, but it was a Sunday ! Generally faster on a weekday or twilight. Found more balls then i lost ;-)
Course in great condition.
First time I have played this course since they rearranged the back nine. Better layout now. The tee off on 11 looks a little daunting with the trees down both sides, a nice chute effect good par 5. They kept the challenging double creek shot (old #11) now just a par 4.
Greens seemed a little long but were still fast.
Very playable with some good challenges
This course has been a fave of mine for many years. There have been some ongoing improvements that have made the course much more fair to the average golfer
this course is quite a nice course.....
and the starter was friendly
but when we encountered a problem with the cart, the encounter with the marshal on duty causes me not to ever visit that course again.
chatted with the maintenance guy while waiting for the guys to tee off and he was great so he kinda made up for the behavious of the marshall.
pity about this as it is a great course but the game was over 5 hours!!!
But, I would still recommend the course cause that is what it is all about - the actual game
this course has some quirky holes
when I played this course it was very dry and hard almost impossible to stop the ball on the greens. If you landed on the green it would bounce and release to the back even on the holes when the green sloped from front to back. Not easy to run anything up to the hole as many of the greens are elevated
the pace of play was very slow lots of rough and a lot of time spent looking for your ball, sometimes in the rough even when you found your ball you go get a club and come back and you cant find the ball even though you were only a few yards away from it.
Average course for the money
The course is a standard layout that is reasonably maintained. It has number of holes with small circular pancake greens that detract from the rest of the course. It appears that there has been regular upgrading to the course... hopefully some more greens will be improved.
