Southbrook Golf and Country Club
About
Nestled in the quaint village of Binbrook, Southbrook Golf & Country Club has a charmingly idyllic yet convenient location that is only minutes from the QEW, the 403, and the Lincoln Alexander Parkway. The club first opened in 1969 with a nine-hole golf course, which was later expanded to 18 holes in 1972. A renovation of the golf course resulted in a redesign of five holes on the front nine and a new irrigation system. Southbrook Golf & Country Club now plays to a 6,560 yards and its new challenges demand precision and keen course strategy. The meandering Welland river snakes through the golf course as well, coming into play on 13 holes while also enhancing the natural beauty of the course.

Very good value course
Course is in better than average shape with a nice layout. Back nine is somewhat tougher than front. Plenty of birdie opportunities with generous fairways and not a lot of bunkers. With most greens tilted and in good shape front to back playing short with a roll-up to a front pin works extremely well; with back pins add a club. Tees are a little worn and hard - you'll probably need a tee per hole. Staff is very friendly with good pace of play and typically very good value at the GolfNow Hot Deal price.
Great local course
One of my favourite courses to play! Course is well looked after.
Not the same Southbrook
I have played this course 50+ times in the last 5 years. However new owners this year have made this a horrible experience. Huge signs saying "no outside alcohol". I don't have any problem with that, but it doesn't present well to those who just want to golf. If you purchase a beer, you get a bright yellow label saying "proof of purchase as if the customer is a criminal. Right from the get go you get a sense of uneasiness. The fairways and greens on the front 9 were ROCK hard! Many yellow spots on the greens and fairways. I have never seen Southbrook without 50+ cars in the parking lot, this time there was less than 15 which goes to show people are finding better options. Used to be a solid course with average conditions, now it's nothing more than a below average experience.
Used to be a hidden gem
I grew up playing Southbrook and have many fond memories. I had not been back for some years and wish I hadn't returned. The course is in poor shape and is not worth the money
Great Course
Always enjoy playing this course, its a great course and fairly priced. Pace of play was excellent, didn't have to wait at any hole. Would recommend this course to anyone. Can't wait to go back
Nice course
Course was great, pace good. Great value for money. Got off early. Friendly staff etched.
Nice Layout
Course has a nice layout with lots of tree lined fairways. Front nine is traditional & nicer of 2 nines. Pace of play on back nine was slower but overall a nice day & under 4 hours play.
This Course Has A Good Variety Of Holes
The layout I find very enjoyable with a good variety of holes. The par 5s or reachable and water comes into play a few times on the par 4s. The speed of play was very good. We finished in less and 3 1/2 hours as a twosome!
Great Setting
Fun To Play..Good Layout..Will play again and recommend to friends
Always nice to play
After the winter and spring we had, it is nice just to see the ball bounce again. Conditions were good. Southbrook made it through the winter a lot better than most.
Staff always great and a fun day
Nice Course
This is a nice course but I had to wait for a good hot deal to play a little pricey for this course any other time greens were nice and enjoyed the round
Great course interesting layout, good shapes and great value.
This course offers a great challenge to all levels of players. It was in amazing shape including the greens. Played it two times in the last week.... Oct 11 and Oct 18.......a little water on a few fairways but it was from so much rain the day before. As always with this season in Ontario leaves present a great problem when landing it off of the fairway....With a variety of hole layouts it never gets boring. Many holes involve water hazards so be sure to look for them when they are placed directly behind the green. Pro shop staff were great but both times the dining room/bar staff were quite rude...first time she was texting and checking her phone while we tried to order, 2nd time a different staff member seemed like she couldn't be bothered serving us... with new bar staff this course could be five star....
Good Variety and Value
Nice course with interesting holes. Greens in great shape for this late in the year. Of course, like many courses this time of year, finding balls in all of the leaves proves to be a bit problematic but, expected. Over all though, no complaints!
worth the drive
We would very pleased with the course and the people working there. We were stuck in traffic, which caused us to be late for our tee time. They took care of us with no issues. We would golf here again.
coarse was very forgiving
i feel the greens needed more water, they were very hard and you couldnt hold them. cost me more money booking thru golf now.
Great course with good value for your $ s.
Loved the course....great variety of holes. Nice scenery and some definite challenges.
Unfortunately we had trouble checking in. They weren't set up for the tax portion and after 20 minutes of fiddling, we said we would just play and settle after. When we arrived at 18 green he was there. Still no luck...fortunately we combined our cash in our wallets and paid. Bad taste after such a great game!
fast and relatively easy
Good training round and somewhat forgiving layout, great value for money on weekdays at least.
Fairways that are fair
I appreciate a course that doesn't punish good shots, and this is one. There is trouble waiting, but you have to go and find it. The course is neither wide open nor punishingly tight, the greens were in good shape, the graphics on the tee blocks gave a good indication of what you were dealing with, and the terrain made for a good challenge.
Nice course close to Hamilton.
Enjoyed the day. Been a while since I last played Southbrook. They made sone changes to the back 9 that made sense. Greens and fairways were in good shape.
challenging for the average golfer
While there was no power at the course when we started, staff was very good getting everyone off and playing at their tee-time. Fairways are starting to see some weeds and need some work and greens have too many ballmarks. The tee areas need to be moved around as there are a lot of areas with too many divots to find a clear area to put a tee in. Although the course was booked up, there was no excessive waiting and there was no marshalls to be seen. Great course for play on the long weekend!
