About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2018 and transformed into Disc Golf Course.
Kayak Point Golf Club is one of Washington's most popular courses. It was named one of the "Top 50 Public Courses to Play" by Golf Digest, and the Seattle Times called it a "must play" course. Located in Stanwood, Kayak Point is less than an hour north of Seattle. The layout was carefully carved from an old growth forest of firs and cedars. You'll enjoy scenic views of the Olympic Mountains on several holes. The layout will test you with sloping fairways and large, immaculately manicured greens. There are more than 30 greenside bunkers at Kayak Point, but water comes into play on only two holes. The spacious golf course doesn't have any parallel fairways and it's not short on length at over 6,700 yards from the back tees.

Great course, good layout.
Do not recommend walking. Lots of elevation change and blind shots.
4.5 stars!!
OK, I really like this course. The fairways are not 100% pure, but they are fair, and the greens are pure. When you miss putts here, it's you, not not the greens!!
I like it because when you play here, it's like stepping into a wilderness, and there just happens to be a golf course.
In the immortal words of Arnold, I'll be back...
Lots of Elevation Change
We went for the first time on a Saturday Morning. There were 4 of us. It was busy and we chose to walk with push carts. They were finishing up a tournament and so we were slow for the first 12 holes. The whole time we were pushed by a two some behind that rode in a cart. There are a lot of elevation changes so the ups and downs make the course interesting and challenging as you often cannot see the pin or know where your ball landed. The hills and distance between the green and the next tee box makes it necessary to have a cart if you want to keep up on the weekends. The staff was very kind and gave us a ride up to #15 I believe. A long steep uphill. There were others like this before this hole but with the slow play it was not too bad.
County Course??? More Like Daily Fee
Pleasantly surprised with Kayak Point. Very good course conditions, good pace of play, (two slower groups allowed us to play through) and a very nice layout. Not overly long and a good test of golf. The course required playing both draws and fades. Fun. Much better conditioned than a municipal course.
The green are in great condition
The tee boxes could use some work, but the fairways are ok and the greens are great
This course has its unique specialties.
We enjoyed playing in this golf course with comfort, relax, scenery
and quietness.
Kyak point nice course. Little over rated, quite a drive. Should offer discount on carts. when you pay $20.00 for a round and the cart is $14.00.
Kind of rediculous. Golf now used to be better. No longer use for free rounds. Just the discount.
lots of variety
Course conditions OK but the fairways over the years have become very bumpy creating lots of bad lies and a very rough ride in the cart, many tee boxes have become unlevel. Very slow the saturday we played.
love this course
This course is pretty sweet, challenging and fun. One should try it it's very north west . Totally recommend it
Excellent time
I suggest taking a cart. Yes you can walk the course but the round might end up being more of a workout than your golf game can handle. Our next game here we'll be riding. The greens are a little slow compared to other courses that we play but the round was very enjoyable. Cut out of the woods you rarely see another fairway. A fair amount of blind shots. Nice to play with someone who has played the course before. We will be back for another round soon.
This course is not a waking course, lots oh hills and valley's.
Fun, Challenging, and make sure you have a cart. It was kind of damp when we played, the greens were sticky.
This course has great features
I like Kayak but I was upset our par 3 kp hole had the flag in the wrong position. It was supposed to be a back Right but was center Right. I think it is very important for the flag to be in the quadrant their score card indicates. Otherwise the pace of play was better than I expected for the amount of business that day.
Raining hard the entire time on the course so only played 9 holes
Standing water on all the greens; course very wet. Probably sh have asked for a refund or at least rain check for back 9 since we paid for 18. Beautiful course and would go back when weather was drier. Drove about 50 miles to play but weather disappointed us, not the course.
Absolute MUST GOLF
Appreciation of golf and quality at a good price! Beautiful, friendly staff, and awesome conditions...good is pretty good too. Folded today with a husband~wife team (experienced & not as much) and we all enjoyed our round and I made some new friends that will come back and visit Kayak some more.
It's only getting better!
Had a great time playing Kayak Point.
The course was surprisingly uncrowded. I had heard the greens were in poor condition but they were very playable. The rate we recieved through Golf,Now was a steal! This is a great track with challenging lies, elevation changes, gret variety from hole to hole in design. I will drive up there again this Summer.
very challenging but require lot of maintanace, especially the greens
Course is challenging but require quit bit attention. Green were patchy and very slow. Fairway were damaged, have lots of big holes. Tee box were not level.
PNW Golf
Kayak Point is what PNW golf is all about. Trees, trees, and more trees. Its a course that will not be forgiving if you are having an off day. Slight doglegs and elevated tees are just a few reasons of why this is such a fun course. Plus the course is laid out very nicely as the holes do not parallel each other. Just wish the greens were in a little better condition.
NW classic suffering from poor greens
Course conditioning of greatest concern, most particularly with the greens. Greens were very slow, lumpy and patchy requiring us to employ a 2-putt rule. Fairways were very firm (not surprising given the two week dry spell we've had), but shaggy. Pace of play was reasonable for a municipal course.
Great Value on Nice Course. 50+ Membership = $1 / Hole walking + $6 Large Bucket on one of the Prettiest Courses in Area - hard to beat !
The Fairways are dry and Bouncing out like Mid-June. The Course is Beautiful and Still one of the Areas Very Best. Yeah the Greens got hurt this winter and re-seeding got flooded out by 2" of rain. But they're coming back and the value still cannot be beat and No 5 hour rounds during the week. I play 2-3 Xs/wk and keep coming back to Kayak every week. Got a second Eagle on #14 Going Right in April.
