Kayak Point Golf Club is one of Washington's most popular courses. It was named one of the "Top 50 Public Courses to Play" by Golf Digest, and the Seattle Times called it a "must play" course. Located in Stanwood, Kayak Point is less than an hour north of Seattle. The layout was carefully carved from an old growth forest of firs and cedars. You'll enjoy scenic views of the Olympic Mountains on several holes. The layout will test you with sloping fairways and large, immaculately manicured greens. There are more than 30 greenside bunkers at Kayak Point, but water comes into play on only two holes. The spacious golf course doesn't have any parallel fairways and it's not short on length at over 6,700 yards from the back tees.

Good course to play
I play this place and this is best designed
and price is reasonable to play
beautiful course
It was a little wet in places but it had recently rained so that was to be expected. Beautiful fairways, well kept greens, a good mix of wide fairways and challenging doglegs. Watch for specials to get the best value
Course Review
Always a great time playing at Kayak! I did like how they removed a few trees to make more holes accessible with fewer "spot" shots. I.e. number 9 Par 5 used to be a three shot hole, but now with trees out of the way you can now "go for it" pending a long accurate drive of the tee!
Great afternoon at Kayak Point GC
MY SON AND I ARRIVED AT THE COURSE AT 3 OCLOCK HAD A WONDERFUL MEAL AND A GREAT ROUND OF GOLF. THE COURSE IS IN AMAZING CONDTION AND WILL ONLY GET BETTER AS WARMER WEATHER APPROACHES. THIS COURSE HAS A GREAT VARIETY OF HOLES AND WILL CHALLENGE. GOLFERS OF ALL LEVELS. A BEAUTIFUL DRIVE AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND KAYAK POINT.
Tree lined on every hole can be scary if your not down the middle
They are leveling out some of the tee boxes so a few were closed but they had you tee from another one. They have taken out the trees on 9 and the tree on 4 which make the holes more open for your shots which makes 9 's second shot easier but it should speed up play some. Over all I think they are starting to spend some money back into the course and it will make it a lot better.
I recomend everyone should give this course a go....
this course is a lot of fun to play. There's some hard holes, some easy holes and some hard holes, some easy holes and some right in between. The staff is really great.
Winter Golf @Kayak
Enjoyed our round. A little slow for the amount of golfers on the course.
I am impressed with the way we were treated by the Pro and Pro Shop personnel. They made me feel like I was playing at a country club.
Hidden Gem
I travel for work and play all kinds of courses in all kinds of places. I love Kayak Point. I live 35-40 minutes from the course but still I consider it my "home course". If you like golfing in solitude, surrounded by big timber in the stillest silence, this is the course for you. It's tight and there are plenty of blind shots, but you can usually find your ball and there is not a ton of OB. The greens are not the best you've ever walked but they're adequate and the do roll true, if a little slow. If you had one day to play north of Seattle, this course would have to be in the mix, but if you live around here and you want the best value for your money, you can not beat Kayak Point.
Great experience
Everything was great but the green was too slow. The service was good and everyone was kind.
A good find north of Seattle
Kayak Point Golf Course provides the perfect Pacific Northwest golf experience. The old growth fir and pine trees tower over players. They block out the noise from nearby roads or homes, and deliver a secluded round of golf.
Kayak Point is a little rough around the edges. Some of the tee boxes aren't level and the poa annua greens run slow, but there are plans for major upgrades over the next three years, so check back often.
The side-by-side par 4s at the first and 10th holes fall off the same ridge to greens well below. Conversely, the finishing holes on each nine, the par-5 ninth hole and the par-4 18th hole, must climb back uphill to the clubhouse. Really, there isn't a bad hole in the routing.
Nice Round
Course is in good shape, pace of play was great. I will play here again
very fun allways a blast for dec 1st course was in good shape
course is one of the best for the money peacefull quite overall a must play`
Its a tring course, but the payoff is worth it!
The deal with the cart & food voucher is a bit misleading, they will only honor the cart, but not the food. They don't make any money on the booked times and won't allow any other FREE items.
great place to play golf when is a big football weekend
very relaxing pace of golf. Employees the clubhouse very polite and helpful will play again soon.
If you love undulating courses you'll love this one
One of my favorites. Tree lined old style course but with many holes featuring elevation changes. Pretty good shape for a public access course. One hole even has 2 fairways to choose from, left or right around a copse of trees to an elevated green. A 'fun to play' track though not a stroll in the park, opt to ride.
Beautiful course needs some work
Setup the twilight weeknight on a beautiful September evening. Looking forward to playing one of my favorite courses, was a little disappointed by the maintenance level of the course, lots of ugly lies in the fairway.
That said, I always enjoy the layout and the greens were good for the most part.
Biggest problem was the group in front of us, we finally went around them on the last par 3 as they were ridiculously slow.
Layout makes you manage from tee to score well
Green speed manageable and many pins were tucked. Fairways in really nice shape. Pace was good for a layout that seems spread over a large area. Lots of elevation changes places a premium on good tee shot management.
Beautiful course & great value
Great deals on Golf Now for this "must play" course. In the middle of a beautiful forest, his a course I have to play a few times every year. Got there early and played the front 9 in 1.5 hours with nobody in front of me. Small wait on back 9 but still finished in just under 3.5 hours.
Challenging Course with Great Design, Layout and Value!
My preferred golf course under an hour drive north of Seattle, mostly due to the interesting design and layout with lots of hills. Also, perhaps the best value for the money in the area — worth my 45-minute drive to get there! Much busier in the morning than afternoon, so I typically go as a single in the early afternoon and rarely have to wait more than 15 minutes to get paired with someone, and the pace of play is usually pretty good. Each and every hole has a distinctly different character and personality, making for an enjoyable experience (the "split-fairway" par-4 14th hole is particularly interesting!). Greens aren't particularly fast, but still challenging and fair. Only real negatives: quite a few tee boxes aren't level, sand traps are more "dirt" than "sand" and therefore more difficult to hit out of, and several fairways are extremely bumpy and can hurt your lower back when driving a cart (cart is recommended) if you don't pay attention. But the city of Stanwood will apparently be spending about $500k to improve the course over the next year, which should resolve some, if not all, of those issues. Otherwise, the course is reasonably well-maintained, there's great forest scenery, ZERO homes adjacent for a truly nature experience, and a friendly staff. All-in-all, I always enjoy playing Kayak (though wouldn't recommend it in the winter due to drainage issues; also, beginners might find the course too challenging)!
