Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2018 and transformed into Disc Golf Course.
Kayak Point Golf Club is one of Washington's most popular courses. It was named one of the "Top 50 Public Courses to Play" by Golf Digest, and the Seattle Times called it a "must play" course. Located in Stanwood, Kayak Point is less than an hour north of Seattle. The layout was carefully carved from an old growth forest of firs and cedars. You'll enjoy scenic views of the Olympic Mountains on several holes. The layout will test you with sloping fairways and large, immaculately manicured greens. There are more than 30 greenside bunkers at Kayak Point, but water comes into play on only two holes. The spacious golf course doesn't have any parallel fairways and it's not short on length at over 6,700 yards from the back tees.

Surprising Kayak
We are new golfers and this course is somewhat challenging to us, but because of its beauty,
well kept greens and wide fairways with
towering trees we are hooked on it.
Challenging track
Overall this is a very nice course with tight fairways and undulating greens. WARNING - walking this 18 is difficult due to the many hills you must navigate. There is also lengthy walks from green to tee. My only negative was that they had watered the greens too much and some of the fringe areas were so soft you could not walk on them.
fun round
Course was in great shape, I plan on playing there soon, Recommend getting a cart, a few people walk and it slows down the pace of play some but course layout super cedes any issues
Course is getting a bit tired
While I understand it is August, the course is getting a bit tired and needs some attention.
Beautiful course
This is my home course I live about ten minutes away. The conditions were really great on that day (as they are most days) and as always the staff was friendly we had a couple slow groups in front of us but we still finished in four hours. The scenery on this course is something special and if you can keep your ball near the fairway some low number can be achieved. If you haven't played it check it out!
Bring Patience
Unclear why the rates are so high here. Course is generally in good condition. Tee boxes not even close to flat/uniform and greens are very slow. Pace of play is even slower; nearly 5 1/2 hours.
Kayak showing it's age!
Kayak for many years was a poor man's Semi'Ah Moo. One of the hidden gems that truly represented golf in the Pacific Northwest. Now almost 40 years later the course is showing it's age. The greens, fairways and tee boxes all need to be rebuilt. Will Snohomish county find the money to restore the course? It could be to the county like the Gold Mountain Olympic course is to the peninsula. I would love to see this course restored and added into the rotation of the Snohomish County Amateur.
Until then, try and find a deal and play during the week to avoid some of the slow play.
I really miss the all grass 18 hole putting course. That was a great way to introduce people to golf and a cheap way to spend a nice evening with the family.
Quiet and leisurely walking in the forest.
It was a quiet and leisurely walking in the forest with my wife. No push or stress from any others.
Affordable price and great staff
Booked through Golf Now for $24 per person. Great value and beautiful golf course.
Hidden gem
An incredibly beautiful course that meanders through dense emerald forests. Surprised by the dry and tight fairways considering the rainfall here and my only complaint was that signs/directions to the next hole were very poorly marked which makes it easy to get lost if you haven't been here before.
Busy Sunday.
it was a beautiful warm sunday afternoon following the 4th of July which brought out many golfers and while we were able to get on at the right time there were several two somes going back to back to back which caused the rate of play to be very slow.
Gonegolf
The course is in great shape though there was a few wet spots. I think I would ride next time going down the hills was tough on my knees. The greens rolled very well and true. Friendly staff.
Worth the drive
Definitely a classic course for the NW. The greens rolled true, the fairways are narrow but fair, and the challenge of play was goo from every tee. A must-play
Beautiful golf course!
This course requires accuracy and the ability to work the ball off the tee, very few straight holes. A couple holes were a little too tricky but very fun overall. Lots of severe slope and large gaps from green to tee made for a difficult walk. Very unique routing, each hole seemed to head in a different direction. I would highly recommend this course and I will definitely play it again.
Bring your A GAME
This course has it all. From Hard doglegs to huge bluff shots, long bending fairways wide enough that you can stlll be agresive, but with enough diffuclty that you need to think out every shot. The green are starting to smooth out nicely and have very little browning. The staff there are great and always very friendly. It's a great place to spend the day..
Nice course
Nice course, a bit more money than I like to spend and you need to have a cart because it has a ton of hills and that adds to the price tag. Will golf there again when I feel like spoiling myself.
Tests your ability to hit a draw or fade.
Fun corse with a lot of draws and fades. It seemed to have a couple of blind shots to challenge you.Tee boxes could use some work, but over all fun round of golf.
OK but not great
Haven't played this course for years but overall condition seemed so-so. Just a few nits, no benches to sit and wait on the tees (I was walking), hard pack sand in the bunkers. Caterpillars alive & dead everywhere but I suppose they can't spray due to environmental concerns.
Great course and staff
Tee time was at 252pm I was hoping to be there but an earlier engagement lasted longer than expected. I called them and they said to come on over when your done and they would squeeze us in when we got there!!! Very very friendly staff!!! I always love going there. Great course challenges of all types. Will continue to go there.
Kayak Point - an exceptional course
Everything about this course is great even though a few of the tee boxes were closed off (I'm assuming they were under repair), and some of the bigger pine tree's on a few holes are gone. The greens were in great shape, but there was this fivesome that we caught up with on the 13th hole; they were very slow. I got my two worse holes after that! All in all, I'm very happy to have played this course and will play it again sometime soon!
