Fair value and test for the money
Lakeridge Links might be the best full-length golf course of the Bruce's Golf series of course. The scenery is beautiful and shows up the Oak Ridge ravine to it's full effect. It's an fairly open course, with only a few holes demanding accurate tee shots. The greens are somewhat tricky but slow. They do stay true and consistent from green to green, though.
The pro shop was friendly and booking was very easy to do. I would definitely recommend giving this course a try.
Sat. tee time
Course fine. Sat. tee time typically slow round......4.5 hours.
A DAY A LAKERIDGE LINKS
A PARTLY CLOUDY DAY WITH MODERATE TEMPERATURES. COMFORTABLE FOR GOLFING. OFF ON OUR ROUND ON TIME. GOOD PACE THROUGHOUT. COURSE WAS IN GOOD CONDITION. COURSE FAVORS INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED GOLFERS. SCENIC VIEWS & LOTS OF BIRDS & WILDLIFE. THE ONLY DRAWBACK IS THE PAVED CART PATH THROUGHOUT IS IN BRUTAL CONDITION. HANG ON TO YOUR HATS.
Fun Course... worth a test
Had a great time... the pace of play was steady... staff were great...
course was in good condition, and they continue to work on it... there is a little construction going on 16 (looks like they are rebuilding a bunker or something)...
anyway, this course is worth the drive north of the city.
It's a fun course to play
The course is in good condition! It's fun to play plus good value
Always a good time
Lakeridge is a challenging and well maintained course. The greens are in good shape. The staff on the course are friendly but the proshop staff needs to step it up a bit. The pace of play was a little slow but the course Marshall made adjustments to keep the pace acceptable. Overall it's always a good visit.
Great condition and pace of play
Maybe it was a holiday weekend and playing as a twosome, but pace was great. Course conditions were great, especially the greens. And the rough was kept playable for intermediate players.
course should have been closed to allow drainage
The course could be promising but the course conditions were very poor. Fairways and greens had little to no drainage causing the balls in the fairways to plug. Ample casual water on and by the greens meant gambling with putting and chipping. Only the conditions made the course challenging and the "lift-and-place" rule came into affect often. The cold windy weather should have been our hint to stay indoors.
STARTING TO IMPROVE
ALWAYS ENJOY THIS COURSE. THE TEES,FAIRWAYS AND GREENS ALWAYS IN GREAT CONDITION. THE CART PATHS AND LITTLE THINGS (SIGNAGE,PATH EDGES ETC.) HAVE BEEN QUESTIONABLE. HOWEVER THEY HAVE BEEN CLEANING THESE UP A BIT. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
Lakeridge links is challenging for both men & woman
the course conditions were great, the staff on & off the course were very attentave and friendly, they make you feel like your a member there. I like the fact that the forward tees are placed so that those who are not long hitters can still reach the greens in regulation.
Good value from golf now
The course is in very good condition, considering the harsh winter the area has just come through. The cart paths are HIDEOUS!!! They have been in terrible condition for years. One feels one could lose vital organs bouncing and umping over terrible ruts and pot holes! A challenging course, but enjoyable.
Playing Lakeridge
Good course to play for the medium handicapper, extremely long and difficult for a beginner.
Lakeridge Links north of Ajax.
A beautiful day for golf, but a bit breezy, so that added some challenges. Back 9 has a bit more difficulty then the front 9. A course that you may not always go for the driver, a well thought out plan of course management is required to get around the numerous slight dog legs the course has. The greens were in great shape compared to others at this time of year. They didn't get beat up by the extremely cold winter we had. can't wait to try this course again and a great deal from Golfnow to boot!
Pace of play
Teeing off at 3:50pm should give you more than enough time to finish 18 holes of golf
Especially since sundown right now is currently 8:45. But to our utter frustration and anger we only got in 15 holes. Ahead of us was two junior groups of kids lead by a coach. They averaged at least 20 minutes a hole and we waited on every tee shot and every approach shot.
We paid $60 for a full round but was unable to do so because of the lack of professionalism in the lakeridge links golf operations. We saw two marshall all day, 1 drove across our hole and did not speak to us and the other was on a different hole and just waved.
I will NEVER recommend this course to anyone as this is now my second time here and the first time was a horrible experience as well. In fact, anyone asking where to play, my first comment will be not Lakeridge Links.
I would like to get a rain check and be guaranteed a full 18 or my money back. I like using golf now but now I'm less one course to choose from on the list.
Sheer and utter dissapointment and frustration. Those feelings should come from your own play on the course but not the operations of the facility.
Soooooo Sloooooow
2 hr front
2 3/4 on the back
Borderline unacceptable.
Lakeridge
Course conditions really good. Greens rolling well. The cart parts are horrible though. Need redone badly. Good thing we usually walk.
Fantastic first round of the 2014 season!
As always the staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. The course was in really good shape considering all the wet weather we have had. We always look forward to playing this course.
