There are better options our there...
I'm not a fan of writing bad reviews but would like to share about this experience.
Lakeridge Links apparently has a policy different from the rest of the world of golf.
They don't have a starter and have a policy on the first tee box to "wait until the group ahead of you is putting or finishes putting before tee'ing off"
I am not aware of this rule in the game of golf and decided to call the pro shop to inquire. I CALMLY asked the gentleman on the phone, was not rude, did not use any foul language or anything.
Just asked the simple question of why the 4 some at the tee box is not tee'ing off? there are 8 people waiting, the group ahead of them is putting and these 4 are just standing there talking and laughing.
His response was rude, snappy and "thats the way we do things here" attitude.
"we wait for the group ahead of you to finish so they don't bottle up later"
Well sir. your theory doesn't work! I still waited at more than just a few holes inside the 18 and there's no excuse to be rude to your guests!
Because I booked through GolfNow, I was stuck there and played through the round. Although, any other circumstance, I would have instantly got my money back and left the course.
I DO NOT recommend this course to anyone under an 18 handicap. It is a great course for beginners and for the type of people who enjoy the game and THINK they can play. Cheers.
This course has good challenges for players of all level ofplay
This course can play very tough if you play the blue or black
Tees
Very well layed out course
Nicely designed course and in good condition. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had a very good time playing this course for the first time
Course is in great shape and very playable.
I have always liked this course but don't play it very often because I find it to be too pricey. Good deal on Golfnow though. A couple of the par three greens were a little beat up but overall the course was in great shape. The greens are fast and undulating which presents a good challenge.
well maintained
I found that they have pretty fast greens. Fairways are well groomed.
Way too slow
Course is in good shape however, pace of play is slow with Marshalls driving around and waving, as if they are actually doing something. Five hours is too long to play a round on a Thursday afternoon. Won't be returning
Good Course
It was a good course. The front 9 is a little too open, but the back 9 makes up for it. I had fun and the it's good value for the money.
Probably wouldn't be my first choice next time I'm on golfnow.com, but I would definitely consider going back.
Not worth the money
Greens were in nice shape & lightning fast for early season.
The fairways just ok. Off the fairway terrible. Patchy and many bald spots. You can tell they are not spending on the course.
$80 with a cart is not worth it at all. Could be a good track but not yet there. Watson's Glen or Deer Creek are much nicer in the same price range.
Cheers
Course is fine, pace of play not so good
After 4 1/2 hours still had 4 holes to play and left. Playing partners couldn't hit the ball (10-15 shots per hole) and even if they could have - there were groups in front of us. Frustrating round.
Lakeridge is steadily slipping
After arriving for our tee time 25 minutes before our scheduled time, we were then forced to wait for another 45 minutes to accommodate a group of 15 players who had arrived late for their tee time. As we were only 3, the starter and the clubhouse should have communicated to each other and let our group get out first. We were held back all day by the hackery going on in front of us, including a 5some that the starter let out, who after playing the 1st, then split into a 2some and a 3some. Did not see a marshal all day. Got a good deal on GolfNow but it was not worth it when you consider the poor service and no control of the course.
set in the country, this course has beautiful scenery.
The course was wet the day we played - cart path only. The weather was good for November which made for an enjoyable round at Lakeridge Links.
Course was in excellent condition for this time of year.
Had a great day and would definitely play there again.
Staffs are not service minded!
Staffs at Club house are not polite to customers especially when you play with any discount coupon. I played there in 2011 and 2012 season a several times. - the lady staff was the worst one.
Drainage was poor, especially on the fairways!
Very disappointed as I booked a tee-time of 11:52am. At registration was informed there was more than one 11:52am booking. Further frustration upon arriving at the starter to be advised a 25 minute delay which caused us not to complete 18 holes. No Marshall to enforce groups to play from white tees. Group in front of us played from blue tees and was very slow and not very good players causing delay on every hole!
fairly difficult
the course was soggy after 5 days of rain so was cart path only...greens were excellent...still quick...like this course alot
Nice lay out, some holes forgiving, some not so much!
Recently played Lakeridge Links. Course is in great shape. Staff attentive and quick to help. Nice facility .Driving range balls not up to par!
Good course and decent marshalling
Like this course. Pace is pretty good. People are generally nice. Some really interesting holes.
