Whispering Ridge Golf Course
About
Whispering Ridge Golf Course is an executive course that was designed to complement its sister course, the nearby Lakeridge Links. Although it does not have the same length the championship Lakeridge Links has, it still offers about the same level of difficulty. The layout offers a different set of challenges, providing a compelling alternative to the other course. Its design is versatile enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. A few water hazards come into play throughout as well as several deep, strategically placed bunkers. The gently rolling terrain provides some undulations in the fairways and greens. The par-3 third hole is one of the most challenging on the golf course with a gulch along the right as well as sand and rough to the left, all waiting to swallow even slightly errant shots. Accuracy is a necessity on this tricky hole.

its ok
It is a very narrow course with alot of oncoming fairways so you have to keep your head up. Its a nice track the greens where aerated so not very true. Usually the greens are excellent shape.
Great value for money.
Had a very enjoyable time although the weather was not cooperative, rain most of the time. Course was in very good condition. Especially the greens. Played it in less than 4 hours. Was a very good day overall.
Fun course to play
Awesome round!
Beautiful greens, great price through golfnow.
decent greens
Course was in pretty good condition.
Nice greens, fairly quick and undulating.
Bunkers need some work.
Cart paths need resurfacing!.
Good course to practise iron shots which is why i went
Great Value in Durham
Good greens; cart paths need work. Good challenging golf course at great value.
Very nice short 18
Friendly staff & patrons on a well maintained well designed course provided a very pleasant round .. We would definitely come again ...
Great Course
Great intermediate course! Great staff friendly and always wanting to help!
Pace of play was terrible
4 of us played and liked the course but probably will not come back unless the management makes changes to speed up play. Having to wait at every hole spoils the outing.
The cart paths are in very rough shape.
Fun day
Love this course. Only problem was the slow play on this particular date. Otherwise a most enjoyable day with my hubby!
Golf day at Whispering !!
I'd enjoyed my day golfing w/ golfers never met before, they were friendly. Facilities were good enought.
Pretty decent executive 18 but the cart paths in rough shape.
The cart paths warrant some maintenance. Pretty rough shape!
Features
Very good condition and an excellent track to work your irons.
Use hot deals
The course was in great shape and we booked a hot deal for 30.00 with cart. It was a fair price. Would never pay regular price for this course
June 20 Fathers Day Golf
They over booked this day. There are line ups on every hole. Its a short course there are 8-12 players players waiting per hole on our first front nine.
large tree in middle of 5th fairway
With heavy rains in previous day some hole and fairways were very wet other than that very good.
Another great round at Whispering Ridge
Have played this course many times over the years and got out for my first round of this season this past weekend. The course was quite wet from the rain the day before, but otherwise was in great shape. Being a Saturday, the pace of play was a little slow at times, but I was still able to get my round done in about 3.5 hours. This is a shorter course, but still provides a good challenge due to it elevation changes and water that come into play. I usually find I use all the clubs in my bag.
Decent course
The course is a decent track - an executive course with 2 par 5s. The course was in pretty good shape from tee to green. The pace of play could have been faster for a more enjoyable round
friendly
Every time I play at this course or Lakeridge, I can never get over how nice and friendly the whole staff is. They will do what ever they can to make sure you have a good experience at their course. It is much appreciated and taken notice of.
Great shorter course
This is a great shorter course that also provides opportunity to play all the clubs in your bag. On the Wednesday I play the greens were bumpy and two groups were slow and did not wave others through. But overall, this was an amazing deal!
Need more courses like Whispering Ridge
Most surveys indicate that the reasons the number of players and golf rounds are dropping off are due to a) cost and b) takes too long to play. Whispering Ridge has both of these covered. I have moved away from the area, but greens fees were approx $35 and I could play in anywhere from 2-3 hours. It was great to be able to get in 18 after dinner, on a well designed course with great conditioning. The full sized partner course (Lakeridge Links) is a very under rated track, and a good challenge. I've played high end courses from Europe to Hawaii, and if I had to choose only 1 course to play until I'm 95, WR is the one.
