Avoid Hidden Lake
-The pro-shop moved my tee-time from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. without my knowledge.
-When I asked the Pro-shop why I wasn't contacted they said that the incorrect phone number was on file, which isn't the case.
-Told the pro-shop that I didn't require a cart but they charged me anyways.
-Moved our two-ball from the New Course to the Old Course and forced us to play behind a Men's League
-Took 3 hours and 20 minutes to play 12 holes....Walked off the course.
Great condition for early season, well worth the trip, best bang for your buck in the area.
Always enjoyed playing at Hidden Lake pace of play could have been faster
Arrived for 4pm course was packed solid and pace of play was at a snails crawl. Club house allowed me out as a single and I quickly ran into a road block as pace of play fell off dramatically. Luckily the marshal allowed me to move to the new course where I managed to enjoy my round. Thanks to the marshal.
Hidden Lake Review
The course was in excellent shape for being one of the first courses open in the area. The layout is a bit confusing where all the holes converge so pay attention to the signage or you'll end up on the wrong tee but there were only a couple of holes where they needed safety fence or the tee and green were too close together. The designer put the trees and bunkers in all the right places so accuracy helps but the old course is fairly open so can be forgiving as long as you are not near the exterior of the course where it is all old growth. This course is usually more expensive then I like to play but this was a good deal for the early season and I can see that they spend money on their facility and courses so I might be back. The hidden lake was quite scenic and overall a pleasant atmosphere.
Played April 2bd. At this time of season, no complain. Good condition, good pace, even cart was ok. Beautiful weather too
traditional layout
Course was average at best. No signature or memorable hole....
Enjoyable round
Despite the greens being in pour shape due to prep for the next season, it was an enjoyable round due to overall course conditions. Pace was a little slow, but the weather was nice and so was the company.
Enjoyable Outing
Came out as a single. Joined a friendly group on a gorgeous day. Course was a pleasure to play.
I would recommend playing here.
Not worth the $
This is supposed to be a ClubLink course?
Very poor service.
Hidden Lake Golf Club Old Course
The problem with this course is only one thing. Pace of play. 5 1/2 hr round and teeing off at 4 pm.
great time
Had a great time, cart girl was great and the half way house girl was great
Unbelievable Value - too good to be true?
Couldn't believe that 18 holes with cart was $5 plus tax and online fees - under $9 all in. When checking in at the course I was informed that it was a mistake - their mistake and they honored the deal. Two other Golf Nowers (Peter and Dylan) also took advantage of the deal and we had a great game. Course was in great condition, great shots were rewarded, bad shots not severely punished. Pace of play was OK at just under 4hrs. One criticism is that the land available for 36holes is not quite enough and stray balls were a danger on many holes. Would put this course in the $40 including cart being well worth the money category.
Bad Greens
I have played approx a dozen rounds staring in March this year and these greens on the old course were the worst greens I have played on this year or for while. They were bumpy and slow like putting on the fairway. there was no sign of aeration. Typically Hidden Lake greens are good and quick but they were pathetic and ruined the round.
Nearby course
Although the course was a little dry, it was in decent shape. The greens were at a good speed for this time of year.
Awesome course
For this time of year the course was in great shape. The fairways and rough were in good shape, and the green were running true. Pace of play was excellent. I'd play there again and recommend hidden lake to other players!!
Temporary Greens
I booked this on Golfnow and both courses the old and new were listed. The new course had an advisory posted that they were using Temp Greens. This advisory was not listed on the old course so I assumed it was fully open. Not the case. There were temp greens that were not even temp greens just pins in the fairway in front of green. If I had known this I would have booked elsewhere. The advertisement by golfnow was misleading. However I think this would be a great course when fully opened.
Last Round of the year?
I hate temporary greens and that's what I got. Can't complain, green fee was only $20 + tax etc. Played New course as it was less busy, really deserted.
Hidden Lakes
Whole course was temporary greens and tee decks are set way in front.
If we knew it was all temporary greens we would not played this course
Hi Michael,
I would like to understand a little bit more about your experience at Hidden Lake yesterday. Did you book through Golf Now and tee of at 4:03 under Trauzzi? Hoping you could email me at grichard@clublink.ca and provide some further details about your round.
Have a great day.
