Great course even though wet!
Always an interesting challenging Stanley Thompson course. Standing water was on the course due to previous night's rain but we were able to play in 3 hours 15 minutes even with cart path only.
Challenging yet tempting
Really happy with the course and the attitude of the staff. Keep it in the fairways if you want to score unless you are a nature lover because there is a lot of twists and turns. Hard to not enjoy your day here.
Must play locally
Greens are so smooth, well maintained, fairways great, very friendly staff, no cart beverage ,need one in hot weather, order wise great course
Terrific Experience
I thoroughly enjoyed this golf track. The staff were very friendly and charming. A "good bang for your buck" golf club! My father and I had a lovely lunch with a fantastic home made tortellini soup. A wonderful Niagara golf experience. Mike Piovesana
Second Time
Welcomed in the usual friendly manner, directed to the range while I waited 40mins for my time, others did not show and I was advised that the two members wished to play by themselves, so I was put out on my own, but I played a quick 8 holes before I caught up a 5 some, hoping that they would take a break at nine I stayed back but they continued onto ten, where I was joined by another single, I complained to one of the staff on 13 who instructed them to let us play thru, which they did begrudgingly on 14.
This spoiled what would have been an enjoyable round, but in spite of this delay the round was completed in 3 1/2 hrs.
It was the day after some heavy rains, what else is new this year in southern Ontario, so there where still some wet areas and sign's of damage, the greens where in good shape and putted well, because of my age I was advised by the starter to play the white tees but several of these showed signs of wear, when the young man joined me on the back we played the blue tees that where in much better condition.
Overall a good day for the price on Golf Now.
Nice layout!
Nice layout, wide open fairways and slower Greens, but true. Sand bunkers need sand. Grass clippings from the lawn mowers need to be cleaned up better. Great friendly staff and wonderful Restaurant manned by Sweet Sue!
Really nice course
This is a really nice course with an excellent layout. Greens were in great shape and very challenging with lots of breaks. Fairways were good as well, but a few patches need some attention.
Great Design
It's a classic Stanley Thompson Design.
Beautiful fairways , raised greens ,
Lovely use of the water on sight.
A must play !!
Bridgewater Golf and Country Club 2015
Fairways are wide enough for slightly errand tee shots
Green are large to roll and hold but they will accept a well placed high shot.
Played in 3hours and 15 minutes in a two sum in a cart .
Half way house staff very accommodating and polite
Lots of grass cutters out on course and they all accommodated are play throughout the day
Pro shop excellent facility and staff
would like to play again
good deal, good course
I got a last minute deal that couldn't be beat. it's often windy around here, makes for some longer-playing holes. I found this course to be a nice test of golf with nothing too stupid and some birdie chances if you're swinging well. greens are tricky enough to add a few strokes. well worth playing if you keep your eyes open for a deal.
stay for dinner
cart path only that day due to recent rain. You can walk the course if you are in good shape. Lots of challenges with water and traps, but love the course.
The food at the course is a great and reasonable. Nice to stay eat and talk about the game.
Late October Bonus
Played this past weekend on a 10 degree overcast day in late October, course was still in very good condition for this time of year. Greens were very good compared to other courses at the end of the season. This was the third time playing the course this year, the staff is extremely friendly, and the course has always been well maintained. I would definitely recommend playing this course.
Classic Course
Challenging and classic lay out that has passed the test of time and very fun to play especially with many risk/reward opportunities.
Every true Canadian golf enthusiast must play at least once and give homage to a Stanley Thompson design, why not a classic 1927 design?
Not an overly long course but does sport a high slope rating and hence an emphasis on course management, accuracy and precision.
Course was firm and fast. Tree lined tee shots puts a premium on accuracy with large greens that will stress your putting game and distance control.
Will definitely be back soon as course knowledge will be a premium on scoring.
Another Stanley Thompson Classic in Niagara
Anytime you can paly a course in just over 3.5 hours that is great. Interesting course and great condition. I would recommmend this course to anyone with lots of tee boxes to increase difficulty if you need that available.
Nice day.
Had a real good round. The course was in excellent condition. For 40 bucks and cart included I would definitely go back again. We played early in the morning and about an hour drive from Hamilton,we had plenty of time to cross the border and have lunch and watch a Bison's baseball game. Great day.
Wish it was dryer.
Played Bridgewater for the first time, easy drive from Hamilton. The staff was very friendly, tee time included range balls, hot dog and a pop.
The starter was very helpful, and what was better we got to play with two members. Which helped out with us first timers. The course was pretty challenging playing from the Blue tees, what made it a bit harder was it was a bit wet. They had a bad rain, plan on going back and playing it again when it dries out. I am sure the greens will be a little quicker and might get some roll of the driver. Overall a great course, recommend it to anyone.
Good Overall Golfing Experience
This is a private course near the US border, so it gets players from both Canada and the US. While it is quite flat, there are some very interesting holes. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The greens were all in great shape, particularly given a lot of recent rain. They also were very tricky and difficult to read.
Although this was a "Hot Deal", the additional fees were exorbitant.
Bridgewater Country Club
The course is a must play if you are in the Fort Erie area. The course was in great shape. I played with I believe two members Wayne and Joe. They both helped me a lot since I never played here before telling me about certain golf holes. I was grateful to them as sometimes people are not used to playing with strangers. I had a great time !
Great deal on a well kept, challenging course.
Great deal on a well kept, challenging course.
Played here before in a few tournaments and will definately be coming back.
