Wet long grass
Wet in places. And if you’re off the fairway the grass is long Very easy to loose a ball
Nice Municipal Course
Very hilly , so difficult to walk for seniors like me , but pace of play is generally good , and course is kept in excellent shape , including leaf blowing this time of year .
Fun Easy Going Course for Beginners
Nice easy pace, pro shop has fair prices and good products, grass was cut well, greens were mostly well maintained. Parallel fairways makes for interesting “out of bounds” play options, but still a fun course all around.
Nice course
Decent value for the money. Pace of play was good.
Play this course as a 4some only
The gang at chedoke pair people up to keep pace of play....yay
We booked 4 ready to play. 2some ahead of us were ready too ...but we waited while the gang at chedoke tried to pair up the 2some with peope who were booked but neglected to show up. Not the first time this has happened to us. Chedoke is not augusta national ....i agree with sending out 4somes for pace .....but waiting for non punctual ghost people gets annoying when real people are ready to play.
Old Stanley Thompson course at the base of the Niagara Escarpment in Hamilton...long and challenging multi-faceted lies on almost every fairway.
Challenging par 5's with almost no differential between front and back tees. Lovely old city course with mature trees lining each hole.
Bad experience
Arrived at parking lot 1/2 you before T-Time and there was no available parking, so had to park offsite. Gave up after nine holes which took 3 1/4 hours to play. We had been told on registration that it might be 'a little slow' as we were following junior tournament. That was an understatement!!
The course was 45 minutes from our home, so an entire day was shot by the failure of the course officials to advise us when booking that there would be no parking and that it would be a very slow round.
Poor management and we will never return!
Too long for the ladies!
Both City courses are too long for the average lady player. They have placed new orange tees on the Martin Course but I don't know if they are rated and I only saw them on the front nine. The regular ladies' tees are hard work for enjoying one's round if you only hit your tee shot an average of 140 yards. I guess we have to be better chippers and putters than the guys!
There is almost a 1000 yard difference between the front and back nines! Granted, par for ladies is 39 on the front. Yes, this Course is certainly mean't to be a challenge but I wouldn't recommend it to the average lady golfer who would have more fun (like the guys) playing a Course around 5000 yards.
Had a good time
I remember this course never a level lie, good challenge. Just wish the rough could be cut shorter so you can find your ball when it just rolls in.
