Good value for the cost but pace of play was slow
Pace of play could be significantly improved if marshalls were patrolling the course. I was very surprised to be playing behind a single golfer who was playing behing a foursome. I don`t feel single golfers should be allowed to play on weekends as they just add to the congestion. Because there were no marshalls, the backup did not clear up and the delays were from the 5th hole to the end of the round.
Tough course to walk, rent a cart!
This is a nice course, well maintained. There are a lot of elevation changes and is a challenge to walk.
this course will keep u woundering no matter how many time u play it.
this is a very old course the Canadian open was played there years ago it will keep u interested your hole round great for all levels of play.
NIcely maintained and interesting layout.
Nice fairways and greens, very hilly terrain, so challenging in area but not ridiculous. Cart paths could use improvement, but still great value for the price on this municipal course.
good
The greens are finally in very good shape..If it were not for the bumpy fairways this would b an excellent golf course. Also the Bunkers are terrible and could use improvements
Great day great course great value
Would highly recommend and will be back!!! The weather was great great course amazing staff and great value...
This lady golfer appreciated the shorter par fours under 300 yards which play into the new concept of "playing it forward"
The combination of shorter par fours and more challenging longer holes even out the golfing experience for a shorter hitter. But
most of the red forward tees are about five yards in front of the blue or back tees, making some holes too long for the average lady player. Par fours of 358 and 395 yards are too long for the forward tees. The final par three of 193 yards to an uphill green is also too long. To my knowledge, the red tees are rated as a men's rating making the rating too low for a lady golfer. This should be looked at and a more fair rating made taking the length of some holes into consideration.
Outing was good, but problems with website end
had to call in my reservation after trying for 2 days to book on-line
great for men and woman
The course is not long but well treed and quite challenging. We really enjoyed the round and it was nice to get through in 4 hours for a change. The only problem I had was that the fairways were not cut short and they were very bumpy. I have a bad back and have to take a power cart when I play and the ride was very hard on the back but I would certainly play the course again. My wife and I enjoyed it. Would love to see some cart paths though.
Course is in good shape
The course is in much better condition then last year.Just wish players would repair there ball marks on the greens. That is the only problem with municipal courses.
An old syle course, fun to play
An old style tree lined short course set on the side of the Niagara escarpment with tree lined rolling fairways, with small trapped greens. This is the older of the two Chedoke courses and the easier one with only two tee blocks playing too 5750 yds from the back tees. The course was in a good green condition with wide fairways, thick rough and slower rolling then average greens. Many changes in elevations as you go up and down, or across the escarpment. Average length par 4's , with 5's just under 500 yds. 5 par 3's from 127 to 260 yds make it interesting. Fairways are not all flat offering side hill,up and down hill lies. First time players could have trouble finding next tee due to lack of directional signage on some holes and no cart paths around greens to assist. Many tee boxes grouped together in same area with some immediately behind greens. A good course for high handicap and beginners with enough challenge to keep them interested and enjoyable, mid players to work on game or keep form up, with the lower handicap players, long irons and wedges. Pace of play could be better given the length however given the range of ability of the golfers that play this course, number of golfers booked to play, longer then normal rounds are most likely the norm, not the exception.
Waste my Sunday
No Marshall available on course. I never seen 5 groups waiting at a tee because a group playing extremely slow
rent a cart
This course is a work out, up the escarpment down the escarpment. I went there with my wife and some of the holes are short there is no forward tee's for her unless you consider 10-20 feet an advantage for the women. Some of the greens were in tough shape and the ride was very bumpy cart paths not maintained at all.
This course has great features and a good view of the city
The course is well kept and
The bathrooms were nicely renovated
Good course, fairly difficult
Overall the course is pretty good. Front nine is more difficult than the back nine. Lots of changes in elevation and no water hazards.
Older municipal course with mature trees
There is no 1st cut of rough to be found on this course. If your drive misses the fairway you land in 2" rough and there's a good chance your ball is lost. Greens require some attention as do the cart paths. There is hardly any signage showing where the next tee box is and several tee boxes are located in a tight area. Also, there is a walking trail between the tee box and green on one of the par 3's which could easily result in people being injured by errant golf balls.
On the plus side there is some very nice views.
A classic old course, fun to play
Fairways bumpy, layout not well marked, people jogging and yet a fun course to play.
Nice course
Got a great deal 1st time playing after years of driving past it on 403it was in nice shape good greens Iwill play it again
picturesque, built into the Niagara Escarpment
Fairly easy course, not very busy at noon on weekend, was able to start early, play in 3 hours
Good track to get out and swing the sticks...one unrealistic par 3, but overall decent layout
staff was very friendly and laid back. Course needs some work, pretty poor cart path layout and design, greens need to be rolled, a lot of really dry patches already after a lot of rain.
