Extremely fun golf
This is a quality course for golfers that like to be challenged or want to improve.
Good deal on golfnow
the price above was only because I used a "free round promo". The actual rate with golfnow was $46 walking then another $18 for cart. This was the hotdeal rate !!
This is a muni 1
I enjoy the course but the regular rate of $85 riding is way too steep.
Hard
Course has dried out a bit. Hard to take a divet. It’s been dry so I understand. The pace was very slow
Still a great golf course. Can’t wait to see the king again
Need to open on course washrooms
Love the course, however you need to open the on course washrooms. It's easy for guys to use the bush to relieve themselves but not so easy for us ladies unless I want to get poison ivy in a bad spot. Also not healthy to try and hold the bladder for too long.
Kings Forest
This was my first time playing this course. Although it has plenty of elevation changes, it was a great course to play. I really enjoyed the variety of picturesque holes.
Tee Boxes
The only issue I have is the tee boxes were terrible, uneven and full of divots. On a par 3 I had to tee off on the grass beside the tee box it was so bad.
No stater had confusion on the first tee on who’s on the tee. Pace of play was very slow .
A beautiful walk
The golf was great, but the walk through the escarpment was absolutely beautiful. It’s hard to get mad at a bad shot or score with the scenery of this golf course. Well worth the play.
Great Hamilton city course
Played for the first time today. Really interesting course. Challenging but fair. The back 9 really ate me up until I was rewarded with a late birdie and 2 pars. Fairways and greens in great shape and as long as you keep it straight you can score well. Guess that was my problem!
Was a gem, now it's a pebble
I have been long for playing at the course as it's so famous and highly rated by the ScoreGolf.
It's not easy to get there: There was a road construction, I have been detoured and GPS wasn't helpful, not a good start.
The condition of the course was fair, I was warned as the hot and dry weather has been haunting the course for days. The fairway was OK, but the green was extremely SLOW, like 6-7 I guess.
I like the layout, the pace was good as well. The staff were busy but friendly and helpful. I appreciate the opportunity of playing at the course, but with the ranking I definitely hope it was in a better shape.
Covid 18 golf
Best course for value for the money in southern Ontario in my opinion. I love playing here, every time.
Big and bold.
It’s such a big course. Whites for most. Blues are powerful and the views are outstanding. I love playing this place.
Needs a little TLC
Great layout for the course, but it needs more upkeep. The course as a whole is dry and hard right now. The rough is fairly thin in most places and shows a lot of wear from cart travel. Overall the fairways are okay but are a mix of grass and native species of clovers and a few weeds. If the course conditions were greener and the grass thicker (not to be confused with longer), this would be a true hidden gem. The weather this year has been hot and dry and I'm sure cities are strapped for cash to maintain golf courses, so I'll be back another year to see what things are like then.
Also, can't remember seeing a drink cart today if that's something that's important to you.
A Gem that needs some work
This course is a beauty. The layout, views and challenge are top notch. The greens and tee boxes could use some work and it needs some water. It seemed like there were added tee boxes for white and red. Marshall asked us to play a little quicker yet we finished in 4:10... reasonable I think? I’ll be back for sure though.
Two Days prior - Carlisle GCC, not dry
Three Days prior - Indian Wells GC - Dry
Aug 6th - TPC Toronto (North) - Immaculate
Aug 2 - Black Bear Ridge - Immaculate
I have played other courses. King's forest is not in good shape. The ball runs out 20-30 yards in the rough, sometimes more, because of the dry conditions.
Your nuts. Have you golfed around. They are all dry. The king is in great shape. They are not cash strapped. Lol.
