A circus
Golf Now and King's clearly do not communicate about what you've purchased.
I showed up ready to golf for my 1 PM tee time at 12:50, and was given a hard time about being late by the staff at the parking lot entrance. During the booking, there was no instruction to show up 30 minutes earlier than normal. The staff were all agitated and I got the feeling I was inconveniencing them by golfing.
I did not have the option to get a power cart, and while the pro shop was trying to get me a pull cart our tee time was delayed 10 minutes. The two carts I was paired with were angry and left. I was left walking between two cart groups, the one behind hitting up on me multiple times.
Course is in great shape, weather was perfect, but the brutal attitude of all the staff put a damper on the day. We're all stressed, suck it up and be pleasant.
Awesome municipal course
We try to play KF at least once a year to enjoy the challenging layout, despite it's slower pace of play (especially in the summer) and course conditions. Fabulous course design at the base of the Niagara Escarpment - it would be 5 star in my opinion if they had the ability to put more money into additional TLC of the course. Being a municipal course it obviously doesn't get as much as it deserves. Very challenging layout with large greens and plenty of elevation changes. Signature 11th hole is a beauty from the tee deck! No driving range which is a bummer but good putting green near the first tee. Not much in the way of amenities here so you basically come for the golf. Being a municipal course right in the city and a reasonable green fee, it gets a tremendous amount of play so pace of play becomes an issue and that's the biggest reason why we don't play here more often.
it was raining we we showed up at the course, the proshop said the course was still open, but there was n starter, no people on the course and the lady refused to give us a rain check. after two holes we were very wet, I asked the lady in th eproshop if the course was shut down she said no. our golf balls were leaving rooster tail wakes on the green. she still refused to shut the course down.
we had t call godnow who talked with the pro shop then issued us a refund after the pro shop admitted the course was not playable due t weather.
Frost delay
Round was delayed 1.5 hours because of frost.I thought the delay was too long. Then the tees were all moved way up to speed up play turning this fine course into a 5500 yard joke
A challenging course
King's Forest is one of the best public courses you can play and it is always a challenge ,especially on a windy day. Course layout is superb, and the upgrades the City of Hamilton have done in the last few years are impressive.
Unfortunately pace of play was slow, and I've found this a continuing issue on this course..Marshals are needed to speed up the high handicappers and enforce etiquette effectively.
A great challenge
This course is a great challenge, if playing this course it’s BEST NOT to check in until your tee time, the city worker STARTERS ARE HORRIBLE for sending you early when you’re not ready to play or still warming up.. they must have some hidden agenda or get a bonus for squeezing in groups
The tee boxes are in BAD shape and pretty hacked up
The greens are in very good shape tho and the fairways were just as good...
Change the city worker starters and it’s a decent course!!
Tough course
Had a great day at the King tough corse if you stray from fairways a lot of hills so club up greens were beautiful soft yet still some speed
Overpriced and difficult
Golf now advertised ot as hot deal for 55 but no cart was included. Its too much for this course if you look for deals. Difficult course for high handicapped like me and well maintained. On labour day the pace of play was terrible, way too slow.
Beauty course
Loved it. Challenging with lots of level changes and narrow holes. Very scenic track.
5 hours
The course was wet. Ok. Expected. The grass wasn’t cut. They could have the night before. Other courses have. Water was pooling in the greens. It was very much like fall course but with summer rates. Was a big fan of the place till yesterday. Over 5 hours. Longest this year.
Not sure I’ll be back or brag about the place after yesterday.
I think they should have offered something for such terrible conditions charged a summer premium.
Sunny day
We weren’t disappointed with the course, fairways were great, greens were in great shape, a little disappointed with the tee boxes they weren’t good shape. But I will play there again
