Bellmere Winds Golf Club
About
Situated in the center of Kawarthas on the northern shore of Rice Lake, Bellmere Winds Golf Club offers scenic views of the water from every hole. This 18-hole golf course features plenty of elevation changes and a few doglegs added in for more challenges. The topography causes a few uneven lies, it also makes the golf course very difficult to walk, and there are also natural ditches around the narrow fairways that can be treacherous to any errant shots. All of the par 3s have a pond and there are strategically placed sand bunkers throughout. Bellmere Winds Golf Club is conveniently located only 25 minutes from Peterborough.

THE ONLY REVIEW YOU NEED!
Great course, with beautiful views!
Challenging holes which will test every club in your bag!
These holes are made even more challenging with some of the hardest greens to read and putt on! Especially with all the ball marks, some of you lazy people don’t want to fix!
Bring a few extra balls, and maybe put away those Pro V1s.
Everything about this course is great except one thing
THEY BOOK WAY TO MANY TEE TIMES!!!!
Seven minute gaps are not long enough and If 2 bad groups of four people go out back to back... 5 hours or more of poorly paced golfing awaits you!
Waiting at every tee block for 5-10 minutes!
It’s been like this every time I’ve played this course which has prompted me to write this review!
Anyways
Have a safe summer... CHIRP CHIRP
Need to address pace of play
On a very hot and windy day, the course played tough. Not surprising that the condition of the course has suffered in the recent drought. If you are used to playing 5h rounds of golf then you likely would not have been bothered by the pace of play today. However, a marshal was needed to encourage groups to keep up with the group in front of them. Also, single players and doubles should be asked to join to speed up play. There was a lot of standing around waiting.
Hidden gem
It’s a must play. Lots of elevation over looking the lake. Friendly staff. Great price.
Always a challenge
Com=nsidering thebdry weather we have had, the course is in great condition
Can't wait till they get their amenities fixed
Great that prices are relatively cheap but that means backlogs waiting for carts
Always a challenge
Thanks for the wind
Course in good condition despite the dry weather
Gorgeous course
Very scenic and well maintained. Course was very busy which slowed us down but still a great experience.
Very challenging picturesque course.
Course very long and some Tee to fairways Very long also. Not a course well suited to beginners or those with big handicaps. Course in excellent condition. Very picturesque with stunning views. Did not score well re masks and social distancing around club house and outside patio areas.
Great course but terrible pace of play
The course was in good shape but the pace of play was terrible. We have golfed this course for many years and typically the course is relatively empty late in the day and therefore a decent foursome can complete their round in under four hours. But, this year is different. The course is most definitely catering to their cottage owners and renters by providing free golf. This clogs up the course at all times with a bunch of non golfers having fun. And that is great for them, but, not so great if you are trying to get in a quick round to end the weekend. On we go. There are many other options in the area.
Good Value
Course is priced right. The views of the lake are really nice. The only bad part of the day was a 12 I put up on hole 10.
A gem overlooking Rice Lake golf course.
From the 1st tee up to 18th green is breathtaking scenery overlooking Rice Lake.
Always a challenge
Scenic course with lovely lake views and welcome breeze off the lake
Course in remarkably good shape given the hot, dry conditions
Challenging, long course
I’ve always enjoyed this course
Very scenic course on the edge of rice lake. Due to a very hot afternoon and following a foursome(new golfers)... that wouldn’t let us play through, had there been a Marshall on the course I’m sure he would have informed them of etiquette play. I’ve seen this course in better conditions. I’ll go back again before seasons ends. I’m a member of another course moving around to stop boredom
