Doon Valley Golf Club - 18-hole Course

Course layout is poor. The Marshall working was very rude and made my time even less enjoyable. Also you have to walk after 3:30. So you most likely won’t finish If you start after 4.

Not happy with the service. No chance to purchase beverages during a 5.5 hour round.

Course over booked trying to get money due to Covid lost revenue, waited on every single hole. Minimum of 10 minutes every hole.

Considering is was a very very hot and humid day, did not see drinks cart till going to 16th hole.

Surely the idea of a drinks cart is to drive around So patrons can purchase drinks and/ or snacks.

Management need to fix this quickly as this heatwave is not going away.

Played 18 here. Course is nice, very dry but it has been very warm and dry conditions for the last week or two.

Waited on every single hole for usually over 10 minutes. Marshal did nothing to manage log jam of players. Course over booked and was very frustrating.

Also over 4.5 hours on the course didn’t even have one opportunity to purchase beverages.

Experience could have been much better without changing conditions...

Was treated horribly by individual providing carts, the people in the pro shop and the starter.

My tee time was not on their list, despite having booked and paid for it. The starter threatened to kick me off the course as I warmed up on the tee deck, despite having just paid for my round and arriving on time for my tee off. His approach was far worse than the mixup with the tee times: he stated “have you played this course before? My response was no. He then told me that if I’d like to play today that I’d exit the tee deck immediately. This was my first dialogue with him. I was 15 minutes late teeing off because of this mixup.

I was told a beverage person would be on the course on two holes and that wasn’t the case. We needed water badly. The course was littered with empty beer cans and the greens were fried. They may need a new irrigation system... or new staff. Regardless, I wouldn’t pay $3 to play this course. .

Booked a tee time for the first time at Doon Valley. Paid for a group of 4. My partner and I arrived 10 minutes early and were told to wait for our entire group to check in. We explained our other two players were running late and we’d check in for them and get our carts ready. We were denied which was strange and we were told to come as an entire group. When they did arrive, less than 2 Minutes after our tee time, we were denied entry to the course for being late. Made no sense that we wanted to check in for them 10m early and expedite the process, then turned away for being late.

Anyways, the female staff who actually turned us down were quite polite but the greeter, who asked us COVID related questions and told us to come back as a complete foursome, was rude and a sore to talk to. Honestly, wouldn’t want to deal with him on a daily basis. For that, I’m not even going to try this place ever again.

depth perception is very difficult, some holes look very far but are close and some look close but are very long.

personally I'd recommend another course but this is a bit cheaper if you're desperate to get out.

Unique course with a lot of large mature trees. Not the most walker friendly course ever as the gap between certain holes is very long.

Clubhouse was not serving any bottled water or Gatorade which I had not seen at any other course this year.

A little slow pace of play wise but not the worst I've seen. Some.of the fairways needed to be cut and the greens needed work.

For the price and the look of the course it is well worth your money.

Any other year where the staff has more time to prepare the course and serve beverages I'm sure this is one of the best deals out there.

Greens are ruined fairways and rough are poorly kempt

Horrible conditions grass clippings left behind thick rough yardage not disable deplorable greens.

Very disappointed with our round today. Considering the course was closed for a week longer than the other courses in the area, it is not in good shape! Rough is REALLY rough. It has not been kept up to be ready for opening. Where it is cut, it has dead cut grass lieing all over the place. The fairways are yellow because they waited too long to cut them. The greens are really slow and have been aerated within the past week. Not a good value for your money. They have no drinks on sale at all and we were not advised of that until we got there with NO drinks!! It was way too hot to play with no drinks! They should have at least had bottled water for customers. The customer service was non-existent. I even returned the cart to the usual spot and was told to take it to the maintenance shed. I don't work there! Not a good experience. Every other course is selling drinks! Won't be back for a while! Too many other good courses out there!

Course is in good shape. Pace of play was excellent. Some long stretches between holes- not very user friendly for walkers
