Lowville Golf Club
About
Tucked away in the scenic Niagara Escarpment, Lowville Golf Club offers scenic views of the greater Toronto area. The layout blends seamlessly with the natural landscape, creating a picturesque golf setting that the Toronto Star's "Bogey Man" has touted as the most scenic in the area. The golf course has also received top honors from the same publication as the most improved club. This challenging, 18-hole course features several downhill tee shots that can really carry, making it a fun course for long hitters. Lowville Golf Club's 12th hole is notably entertaining. It is a long par-5 that requires a long carry off the tee to a tricky green.

Greens need work
Lowville is a challenging course with great scenic views. For the amount of traffic they let play (overbooked) and what they charge, major improvements need to be made to the greens, which are bumpy, slow, and not cut properly. On the plus side, some great driving holes.
This course has great features
I was truly amazed with the incredible views of the Niagara escarpment!!
Lovely Mountainside Course
Excellent course conditions but be prepared for long uphill fairways and uneven lies. You'll feel like a pro teeing off from elevated tees on downhill holes however.
Great views and scenery.
Cool day and we walked. Good exercise. I would recommend taking a riding cart next time. Course is in a good shape and challenging enough.
Lowville
The course is quite scenic, however the pace of play was slow second 9. Holes were quite challenging, but could be a longer course to make it more enjoyable. Pond surroundings in poor shape.
Always play well here
The course has some challenging holes that can get you into trouble. 16 is a tough par 4 that plays like a 5 and the par three 8 can cost you big if you go long or right. The escarpment makes putting tricky as breaks on the green will sometimes fool you. Played one of my best rounds ever on Sunday. Shot an 81
challenging, fun, unique
Love the course. Would come more often but find it a little overpriced. Need a martial to control pace of play.
Outstanding
Beautiful course carved in to the side of the Niagara Escarpment. Panoramic views looking north east. The course has some challenging holes. @ suggestions. I wouldn't play from the tips unless you're a 6 handicap and I would 't walk it. Friendly staff and my son and I played the course in under 4 hours.
Lowville review
Course in good condition. Traps were true sand traps, which is a good thing when you end up in one. The vistas from different elevations are gorgeous. The only complaint was the greens were pretty woolly... would have liked them faster and truer like they have been in the past. Perhaps they just needed to be rolled and cut - it was a VERY hot day - so that could be why they were not cut. Overall - I enjoy playing Lowville and usually score true or better to my handicap.
Great day
Course is in excellent shape. Back 9 roughs were a
little longer and made for nice challenge if off the fairway. Greens were medium fast and firm. Traps were soft and very playable. All in all wouldn't change a thing.
Never Disappoints. Great Value!
Other than some of the greens being a little banged up as a result of the long winter, the course is in excellent shape. Interesting layout keeps you visually entertained and the views in the plateau tee blocks give you a nice look at the escarpment. I look to golf now for the deal to play here, and I'll certainly do it again.
Fast pace
Played this course on a weekday, the pace of play was great and the course is great for biginers and intermediate golfers. Lots of great views from the tee decks.
Greens have a lot of challenging slopes
Scenic Serenity
If you enjoy the view as much as the course than the hoile itself Lowville takes some beating. Built on prime property on Niagara Escarpment the views are eye catching. Overall conditions were good. We played 9 holes starting just before 5 pm and finished in just under 2 hrs with no waiting and nobody pushing us from behind.
Great Value
Great course with gorgeous views. Amazing value for the money!
value
Excellent value for quality of this course.
Beautiful vistas from all holes
Beautiful cut holes
I really enjoyed playing this course again, it's been 9 years between visits and the condition has not changed. Very good! Two small downfalls that I would like the staff to look into are: 1)the bunkers on the front 9 are a little sub par, but that could be fix if I didn't hit in them so much. #2) the signs that Guide you to the next tees are extremely poor, this was not a problem because of the amazing Marshal helping us out, but without him, "CONFUSING"!!.
All in all, a recommendation to all handy cap golfers out there.
Fastest 18 played
We have played Lowville before but this time was great. We went out at 7am and finished at 10am. The Marshall asked one group to get us through (after 3 holes) and our pace of place continued. The course is in very good conditions. Greens are getting better after a tough winter. We will defiantly play again!
Nice views, friendly staff
Had a 7.33 start. Starter moved us ahead of a four ball which enabled us to finish in 2hrs 40 mins. We played off the blue markers but should have played off the Gold. Plays very short apart from a couple of uphill holes. Nice layout and look forward to playing it again.
Good Golfing Experience
Except for the wind that was very high at times the game was good and I enjoyed it.
beautiful scenery
The day we cplayed was very hot. Even on the best of days it's a must ride. Very hilly but the spectaular views make op for it. Would definitely retutrn.
