Lowville Golf Club
About
Tucked away in the scenic Niagara Escarpment, Lowville Golf Club offers scenic views of the greater Toronto area. The layout blends seamlessly with the natural landscape, creating a picturesque golf setting that the Toronto Star's "Bogey Man" has touted as the most scenic in the area. The golf course has also received top honors from the same publication as the most improved club. This challenging, 18-hole course features several downhill tee shots that can really carry, making it a fun course for long hitters. Lowville Golf Club's 12th hole is notably entertaining. It is a long par-5 that requires a long carry off the tee to a tricky green.

course is great shape, nice tees and greens; beautiful escarpment views
Awesome course, great views and felt like a good deal the whole round. Thank you Lowville GC.
Thsi course has stunning views and some very interesting holes.
I always enjoy playing at lowville. The pace of play is good and the variety of the holes make it fun.
Great course - good value
Very scenic location. I've played here many times and it's spectacular when the fall colours are out. The course usually is in very good shape. Lots of fescue and very lush rough when they let it grow, so it can play tough if you're not hitting the fairway. A couple of the par 5s (#1 and #11) really ought to be par 4s, but of course it's nice to tell your friends you were on in 2 ;-). Carts are a must unless you're in really great shape. Only real complaint is lack of a driving range.
Great Course
I have always enjoyed this course.
It easily has the best views of any course around and that does a great job of distracting you if your game is going south.
Greens and fairways were in fantastic condition when we played.
I usually walk but would advise against walking here as it goes up and down the side of the escapement.
For a Saturday morning it did not feel busy which was fantastic.
Great course
I have played this course for many years and it continues to get better and better.
Always fun
Played here on Sunday July 14, 2013. Haven't played this course in about 6 years, yet it remains one of my favourites.
First thing you need to know about this course is that there is almost no such thing as a level lie. This is a very hilly course with some fantastic views.
New green on hole 14 that has only been open for about 3 weeks. This green was not in as good a shape as the others but it will get there I'm sure.
When the conditions are like it is now, which is well watered, this is a fun and challenging course to play. When it dries out, it is nowhere near as much fun to play. The reason for the new green on 14 is that they enlarged their reservoir from 1 million gallons to 5 million gallons. Now they should have better irrigation all the time.
Saturday Round
Got a good price it was very slow.Gave up on the back nine after 11 and played some more on the front No food as they had a wedding for a saturday afternoon this was not good as me and my son where hungry not even any sandwiches glad we got a good price
Very nice course with challenging holes and great staff
I come to Burlington to visit family once every year or 2 and trying playing a few courses each time. Played Lowville about 6 years ago and it was a bit on the dry side. They fixed the issues several years back and now the course is in great condition. Nice elevation on many holes with some great views of the city and surrounding areas. With few holes having OB, it is reasonably forgiving, however the rolling hills in the rough will give you some tough lies. Looking forward to playing the course again in the future.
Nice course, nice views...
I play Lowville at least once a year and enjoy the moderate challenge offered by the layout. I would offer that the course needs to look at maintaining the greens, in particular after the conditions southern ontario has had; no point having "rookie" golfers ruin a good course. Thanks to the closing staff member for accommodating my request for a towel & using the showers. I look forward to playing this course again.
Lowville
Course was in good condition. Greens were very slow due to the amount of rain the day before.
Great twilight round...
Booked last minute through Golf Now, got around the course in just over 3 hours. Course is in great condition. Was a fun afternoon/evening.
Always a fan of Lowville for the $$$
We booked our twilite time for 5:03. A shotgun tournament had just ended and a mens league was about to tee-off on the back 9. The starter insisted we wouldnt be able to get off right away though he did seem a bit harried. Finally, about 5:15 we went on our own to the 1st tee, no one there! Had to play the front 9 2x as the back 9 was backed up with the league, just an FYI for Wed twilite
Nice layout, good conditions & will be back
Course is picturesque and has nice playing layout. Some construction but not too intrusive. Staff were friendly and it was good to see marshall around monitoring play.
Great Value for the Money
Great Course Conditions. Hole #13 under repair, So u take an automatic 2 on mock green. But should be up and running soon. 2nd Cut and fescue tough...try and keep it in play or else will be tough to find the ball. Greens are in good condition.
My feedback
There are few holes are under maintenance and the course should have closed until it is fully open for 18 holes
Fine - not outstanding
The front 9 at Lowville are an attractive and fun set of holes to play.
The back 9 seem to have poorer maintenance and significant construction.
In addition the drink cart should come around more often
A decent course but not fantastic
Slow, drunkards, temp green?
To be fair, please note my threesome apparently started right after last group of a tournament. Marshall did drag one golfer off course around the 8th hole for either driving about 400 yds on golf cart in reverse, or for being smashed. Group ahead of us was slow (one hole open ahead of them for entire back 9 - I assume because the drunks got kicked off). Finally, i found it a bit upsetting that the 14th or 15th hole had a shabby temp green located on fairway, and that the course website, GolfNow, the starter and the pro shop didnt let us know. The course was fairly challenging however, and quite scenic, however, i wouldn't feel confident in recommending this course to anyone.
Temporary green on the back for another week
I played the course on a Thursday afternoon. I arrived an hour early. After stopping for lunch in the clubhouse ( 10..00 for a pre-packaged Tuna sandwich and sport water!) I proceeded to check in. A young lady checked me in and after finding my time and reading the HOT DEAL sheet went to another staff member. She said something to him about the cart. The hot deal included the cart and he mumbled about "We never include a cart in Hot Deals" After reading my reservation, he said give him a cart and i'll have to call Golf NOW!
Definitely NOT the best way to handle the situation, especially in light of wanting a golfer to return and feel welcome. I do understand that HOT deals don't provide the regular rate of return for the course, however, in light of the light play that day, it was better than having no income.
After leaving the club house a little more than put off, i grabbed my clubs and proceeded to the starters area and picked up my cart.
Both Starters were super friendly and suggested that if I was alone, (I was) that there was no need to wait the extra hour before my tee time. The Tee was free and clear and could tee off any time I was ready!
The score card on the cart was used from the previous players. No problem as they usually have scorecards in a box at the first tee.
The box was empty so I made do with the used card and tee'd off.
The round took approximately 3 hours and would have taken less time except I caught up to a two some on the back nine that figured they need 2 mulligans each on every tee and had no intention of letting anybody through.....
Staff on the course were super friendly, except the cart staff that seem to drive up at the most in-opportune moments.... Putting, teeing off it didn't matter she made everyone on the course aware that she was there driving her noisy cart regardless of what was going on around her.
After my stale sandwich and 4 dollar sports water in the club house I wasn't prepared to spend anymore money on an inflated menu.
The course has added a new extremely large irrigation pond on the back side to improve drainage. It is the primary reason for the temporary green and almost unplayable hole. The left side of the fairway has been torn up and sprayed with liquid grass seed to help but he area is roped off and I would be surprised if it is playable (fairway) before the end of the season.
While the round provided value for my HOT Deal, I will not return at any price based on the attitude of the Pro shop staff member and the cart issue.
I have played the course many times and at regular rates, however, there are many more courses that provide much better overall experience and will not subject the paying golfer to a challenge on something as silly as a cart!
Very pictureous setting.great clubhouse and excellent staff.good test for the average golfer.
Some improvements being made to the course which necessitated a temporary green, but overall the corse was in excellent shape. First cut could be a little shorter.Would certainly play there again & would certainly recommend to fellow golfers.
Very good experience
Very little (if any) savings using golfnow, but the course was fine.
