Lowville Golf Club
About
Tucked away in the scenic Niagara Escarpment, Lowville Golf Club offers scenic views of the greater Toronto area. The layout blends seamlessly with the natural landscape, creating a picturesque golf setting that the Toronto Star's "Bogey Man" has touted as the most scenic in the area. The golf course has also received top honors from the same publication as the most improved club. This challenging, 18-hole course features several downhill tee shots that can really carry, making it a fun course for long hitters. Lowville Golf Club's 12th hole is notably entertaining. It is a long par-5 that requires a long carry off the tee to a tricky green.

Maintenance
Every time this course has some maintenance issues that couldn't play 18 holes.
Same as yesterday front nine closed due to maintenance.
So couldn't play due to golfers lined up to play back9 twice.
Disclosure on Playing conditions not provided
Normally love this course and have played before, but disappointed this time - when we arrived, found out that there were only 9 holes playable, and this was not disclosed on golfnow.com when the booking was made - course was in poor shape with airated greens - feel that disclosure of the course conditions should have been provided - rating provided is specific to this particular day, not overall, as mentioned, prior to this particular date of play, would rate the course as excellent
A great day of golf at a wonderful course
Don't bring anything but your "A game" for this pretty and challenging test of skill and nerve! Nestled on the edge of the Niagara escarpment, Lowville is a course full of undulating greens, elevation changes and beautiful vistas! At no point on the course can you allow your attention to lapse, and so this all makes for a great day of golf! Totally worth the drive whether you're a beginner or a scratch golfer! :)
DMc :)
Great scenery
The day I played, the course was very wet with a lot of leafs on the ground and the rough was a little too long making it difficult to find your golf ball. Would enjoy playing this course under better conditions
Great view of the Escarpment
Good value, fair way in good condition as well as the green
Spectacular scenery and elevations
Would like to play this course in warmer, calmer weather as we had to pack it in after nine holes due to the cold and wind.
Although not long from forward tees, each hole has its challenges. Cart path rule gave us our exercise just getting to our balls. This was only in effect due to the soggy conditions. The staff were super friendly and there were some great deals in the pro shop which I definitely took advantage of. We got a rain check for the cart for nine holes which was nice. I will definitely go back again. The greens were running true and were tricky due to their sloping nature. Unless you are in great shape, this course requires a cart!
.
This is a very challenging golf course, not suitable for players only playing a few round a year.
This is a very challenging golf course, quite hilly and some greens seemed short with steep slopes. Your accuracy is tested every time. Although the course is maintained, they could have done a better job keeping the tee box in good shape. Anyway, it is a great golf course for above averages players.
don't like it
The marshal always push," quickly! quickly!" it is golf not a running race. Never play there again.
Great value
The course was in good condition and even though we followed a tournament, play was fairly well paced. I liked the view, the terrain and the overall feel. It plays a bit more difficult than the slope rating would suggest given the ups and downs on the mountain. Overall very happy with it and will play it again.
The course is forgiving. The Carts need servicing. Food and Beverage offerings were over priced and the hit water foe tea was not available
Overall I will go back there again. The setting is awesome
Scenic, challenging, memorable.
First time played. Very impressed with the course by all standards. Extremely challenging from the back tees. The only negative thing I can say about the course is there were no information available about the pin placements and all flags were yellow, so we had to guess a lot.
You need a Cart
On an incline ,which would present a challenge to the mature folks, although I like to walk ,this is definitely not the one to do it on.The backdrop is pictureques and the staff vry helpful..all you need is a nice day.!!
Great Course But take a cart!
Love the course but was let down when I played just once this season to see that green fees were the regular price and the course was in bad shape. Mind you it was May. Course went through huge construction and I was not told about it when booking. Temporary greens, makeshift tee boxes and a lot of mud. Will not play again in 2013. Hopefully by the end of the season everything is back to normal and I look forward to playing again. Green fees are just too expensive to not have great conditions.
Fairways and greens were great.
This is a nice course and great value for the money. It is well maintained and has some great views from some of the elevated holes.
course is great shape, nice tees and greens; beautiful escarpment views
Awesome course, great views and felt like a good deal the whole round. Thank you Lowville GC.
Thsi course has stunning views and some very interesting holes.
I always enjoy playing at lowville. The pace of play is good and the variety of the holes make it fun.
Great course - good value
Very scenic location. I've played here many times and it's spectacular when the fall colours are out. The course usually is in very good shape. Lots of fescue and very lush rough when they let it grow, so it can play tough if you're not hitting the fairway. A couple of the par 5s (#1 and #11) really ought to be par 4s, but of course it's nice to tell your friends you were on in 2 ;-). Carts are a must unless you're in really great shape. Only real complaint is lack of a driving range.
Great Course
I have always enjoyed this course.
It easily has the best views of any course around and that does a great job of distracting you if your game is going south.
Greens and fairways were in fantastic condition when we played.
I usually walk but would advise against walking here as it goes up and down the side of the escapement.
For a Saturday morning it did not feel busy which was fantastic.
Great course
I have played this course for many years and it continues to get better and better.
