I play this course quite often.....great bang for the buck! My only disappointment was that when we got to the 10th green we found it was aerated! So the entire back nine was like that. Putting is such a big part of the game, and to lose that for the back 9 was very disappointing. Golf courses should tell us when this is going on and if you choose to play there you should get a discount. Some courses do, but most don't

Played this course for the second time and was reminded why I love it. It is challenging and fun!
Lots of hills and valleys! Very well maintained. No two holes are the same...keeps you engaged and excited.

Just a heads up that all the hills make it a tough walk. We rode and had a great time!

Really like this course but when you have to play the front nine twice its says there are too many people on the course. Very slow front nine, we saw a group of 5 playing and yet the marshals just ignored. I realize they need to make money but at what cost, people only put up for so long and then they go elsewhere.

Newcastle is a nice course with fairly wide fairways, the greens are fast and slope in many directions, overall a good course with a lot of elevation changes.

I know golf isnt always fair but man, the greens were baked , id hit the ball on a good trajectory from the fairway to the front of the green and it would end up 30 or 40 ft foot putt or over the green . . So i figured out early it wasnt going to be a good scoring day and thats ok. All in all this is an interesting golf course that is well maintained other then the fact the greens could have been watered more . . I enjoyed the elevation changes and the secluded from the world feeling that many golfers crave . Pace of play , was poor threesome ahead of us had zero business playing the back tees or waiting for greens to clear 280 ahead. Especially for what I paid on golfnow i would return for more bogeytrains in the near future!

this is an excellent course which is a fair challenge for good golfers and ok for more beginners.the course has a nice feel to it with many holes looking like you are in a secluded wooded area

First time in 6 years.
Staff not friendly probably due to tournament and what they said were double booking errors.
Teeoff delayed.
Nice layout with interesting holes.
Course is in great condition for fairways, greens. Easily the fastest& toughest greens in the area.
Sand traps not taken care of with weeds growing in some , no rake in one good trap, and not the best sand choice(confusing)

Other than the greens the course played very hard. It was uncomfortable to ride in a cart because the fairways were very bumpy.

The pace of play got slow on the back nine around the 13th hole.

The staff was friendly. Other than the conditions of the greens the rest of the course wasn't in good condition.

The clubhouse could have had better air conditioning.

Course was in excellent condition save for the 17th aerated green.
Plenty of elevation changes around the greens makes this a challenging track.

Great value for the money, had a little rain but beautiful day otherwise. Finished the round in under 4 hours.

tough greens , firm and fast , often domed . Bring a good short game and strong putting skills

Pristine greens and well manicured fairways, combined with changes in elevation and well placed hazards make Newcastle a must play course! Good overall experience.

The course is in pretty good shape and all but one green was in great shape. They greens have good speed and it does not take too long to judge their speed.
The marshals are on the course to guarantee that speed of play and are friendly. We were a twosome and we never had to wait very long for the foursome ahead of us. The day was well paced and we never seemed hurried either.
I would definitely play here again

Although all players in front were in carts there were wait times of 5-10 minutes on every tee and 5 minutes for shots from fairways. Not even remotely possible to have a momentum gain. Won't be back for some time...

There were at least 3 groups waiting at each hole after 7.

We tee off 2.05pm and finish 7.20pm over 5 hrs. round. We played on a weekday, compliant to Pro. shop after 9 holes and Marshall did nothing to speed up the pace.

Teed off as a single at 9am between 2 3somes. Basically not a problem but the group in front is slow and the one behind is fast. While I wait for the group in front at the blue tee, the group behind me rushed to the senior tee in front. Come on, show some respect and wait for your turn, please.
The course is with hard fast green that is going to roll 30 yards off the green if you try to land the ball near the flag stick.
This course has lots of mosquitoes, especially at th 6th hole blue tee. I can't even tee of there as there are basically 40 mosquitoes (maybe more) surrounding me. I did spray "OFF" right after but I still have 15 mosquito bites all over, even on places covered with clothes.
I will not go back until they have the mosquitoes problem solved.
