Always a good day on the course!!
Always a pleasure to play this course. Great staff, course conditions....will definetly play again!!
Good course
Enjoyed playing this course. Well maintained and well laid out. I would definitely come back.
Don't play on a tournament day
Our tee time was 2:05pm. We got off at 2:40 . And started on the back nine as the front was rammed. We waited at every shot and hole. Our round was over 5hours for two of us. We did book a hot deal and great price for the course. Maybe shouldn't book people after tournaments or keep them on pace . Chris
had fun play in raining day
Wife and me had fun to play the course in raining day. It was first time to play the course. it's first challenge playing in bad weather and walking four and half hours for the whole game, felt tired, but we were very happy with course's good condition and friendly staffs. the place is little far from Toronto, but on Sunday, it's not too bad on highway traffic, we will go back.
unfair cart fee
we had an excellent rate through golf now for 18 holes walking. we decided to ride the last 9 and wee charged $30. for the cart for 9 holes.
when I suggested this was rather expensive I was told that was the rate evn though a cart for 18 holes is $38.00
felt extremely overcharged for the 9 hole cart rate
Not the Best
Staff was disorganized did not get my booking right and seemed at a loss in computer knowledge Play was very slow Marshal seemed unwilling to get involved 2 foursomes behind us complained to know avail. Will not be playing there again.
Newcastle GCC
Course was good value. Tricky greens. Some challenging holes. Greens could use watering. Overall good experience.
Dry
The greens were rolled but air-rated probably late last year.......so they kind of sucked......they can't hold a shot and don't putt true.....what can I say? Water your greens!!! Is usually a good coarse......it is early in the season.
Very ghood course
We played this course for the first time. Wide open and well maintained. Busy but your not rushed. They don't book people every 5 minutes like some places. I would not want to walk this course as the back nine would be a challenge. Highly recommend.
Nice golf course
Easy checkin, good pace of play, course is kept pretty good for this early in the year and us having a late winter. I will definitely play again this year using golfnow.....
This course has great course design
Each hole has various design for high-level golfers, but pro-shop was no good for foods & drinks.
newcastle revisited
I had played the course before but only in late October. Playing it for the first time under normal golf conditions was a different feeling. The course played friendly with greens holding and fairways than the ball actually rolls. Newcastle does have some of the old style greens with the false fronts on them. You need to know where you are hitting the ball to score. The layout has a good assortment of different holes, with very few flat holes. I will be back again for sure. The staff was very friendly and right there when required to answer any questions.
good value for your money
Course in excellent condition and good value for your money.
Good course
Pretty good course, some tees are pretty dry but overall well-maintained fairways and greens. Some greens are really fast. Would be challenging for beginners for its lengths. Didn't eat here so couldn't really comment on the food.
nice layout
course is too long for average golfer to get on in regulation, unless they can drive 250+ or use the red tees.Greens very undulating ball can roll right off if not hit to to target
good course
good course for the price. Group before us was slow. No marshall on the course a little weird for me
Good course for the money
The airways are a bit bumpy and the greens quite hard but overall it's a playable course and having booked through Golfnow I certainly felt like I got my monies worth. Didn't eat so I couldn't evaluate the food but the staff in the pro shop were very polite and friendly.
great value and fun
good balance of risk reward shots makes it a fun course. playing the blues adds enough challenge for better golfers. fairways are lacking otherwise it would be great but still the best by far for the money!
fun course needs work and the grounds crew were awful
An oftenoccurance when you play a flat traditional parkland course is being lodged under trees chipping out with you hands halfway down the shaft backwards back into the fairway. Its fun...I guess relatively speaking, and we'd all rather be doing that then being at work and Newcastle is a fun course a cheap price tag to do that in. What it isn't is a place you will find consistant greens, good bunkers or well manicured grass by polite groundcrew. I was there in the afternoon and the fairways were still being cut by a crew of two young men. Understandable but not common that late in the day unless there were weather conditions that dictated that. The proshop boys were great but overall dont go here if you are looking for an 8 out of 10 or better in conditioning or you are used to playing a private course. With that said good value you cheap golf and a viable option in the area
