About
Carved from 200 acres of mature forest along the Holland River just 40 minutes from downtown Toronto, Silver Lakes Golf & Country Club provides a scenic round reminiscent of those found in either Florida or the Carolinas. Neighbored by native wetlands, the golf course features water hazards on 12 holes. There are also treacherous, well placed bunkers coming into play on every hole. The par-3 third hole is notably challenging, in addition to being flanked by bunkers, it also requires a carry over a pond. Silver Lakes Golf & Country Club also features a unique seven-acre aqua driving range as well as three chipping and putting greens.

Forgot how tight the fairways are
The greens had been airated, found out at the starters shack, very disappointed so I can't comment on the greens overall pretty good

No surprises
Scenic and moderately challenging, this is a great course for novice and experienced players. Keep the ball on the fairways and you should well.

This is my first time to play the course. Good price. Good view. Excellent condition. Friendly staff...Every player is fast. I like this course. I'll come next time.

Bring your A game
Silverlakes is a great test. Narrow fairways on most holes, so you need to be hitting it straight.
Course conditions are always above average, and the greens are quick. Which is a good thing.
I paid 65$ plus taxes. This is the max I would pay for this or most courses.
Great round and beautiful course spoiled (somewhat) by disaster of a group in front of us...still a tremendous course!
It was so great to back at Sliver Lakes after so many years!...why did it take so long? won't happen again lol
Easily one of the GTA's best courses, Silver Lakes is a gorgeous tree-lined course that plays just beautifully! Unfortunately, the group in front of us was a disaster - taking forever, falling behind at least a hole or two of the groups ahead. you'd think they were playing for millions how long they were taking!...or maybe it was lessons on the course. What happened to playing ready golf?? these guys were all watching each other's shots and then going to the next ball and on and on. Course marshals apologized and offered that we play the front 9 again, but the back 9 is too good to pass on. They could have just gave that a group a friendly reminder or two - odd!!

Still a quality course
Starting to show it's use though.
Wish more golfers repaired their divots in the fairways and ball marks on the green. It would prolong the good conditions.
Took a sweet, sweet hot deal for this round but I wouldn't pay the full fair that they are asking on the site. There are better deals to be found
Thanks for coming to visit WStewart. Course is still in great shape but our efforts to have patrons help us keep it in great shape don't always have an impact. Played the other day myself and it's beautiful with all of the leaves changing colour. Hope to see you out for another game in 2015 perhaps! Play well!
Good course
Good course, played on a Saturday extremely slow. Greens were in great shape.

Walk in the park
Course is always in excellent condition! Marshall did great in keeping pace of play close to 4 hours. Rough is a little healthier than usual.

Great course but pacing problems
The condition of the course was immaculate, the staff were friendly and helpful. It's very reminiscent of nicer courses in Myrtle Beach in terms of course conditions, topography, services and staff professionalism. We played a wonderful round in the morning and opted for a replay. Unfortunately, there apparently had been a tournament (that we never saw any sign of) that had gone through earlier and there were enormous backups on the back nine even though the course was not crowded. No sign of a superintendent, I guess he was sent home b/c it was a relatively quiet Monday afternoon, but the result was 4 groups piled up on each hole and you can't expect people to leave entirely happy when they're waiting 5-10 minutes to take each shot.

A little longer than I am used to from the Whites, but no forced carry's made it acceptable. Hit it straight and this course will reward you.
Thanks for taking the time to post a comment "drgrafix". As usual straight helps at Silver Lakes. Choosing the appropriate club off the tee is sometimes more beneficial then opting for the driver but sounds like you are already well aware. Hope to have you back as a guest at the club again soon!
great course
Greater was nice carried my bag to the cart. Course was wide open. Great condition. Very challenging course for a beginner. Probably my favorite course so far.

A great golf experience
A beautiful course with great facilities in a wonderful location
We agree with your comments "simoncolla". The original mantra for the club was "Escape to the Carolina's without the airfare" and seems you agree. Hope that you come out to take another stab at the course again soon. Have a great rest of the 2015 season!
Poor Value
For $75 would expect much more. Fairways are in good shape but Greens are terrible. Very inconsistant and very bumpy. Played here last year many times and greens were very quick and smooth. This year it is terrible.
Traps are also terrible. Very little sand in them.

We have had positive comments on the course conditions this season but sounds like you have have fallen victim to following a group that was less than considerate when it comes to raking traps and fixing ball marks. Course is in fantastic condition right now and will continue to be through the fall when the leaves change colour. Please come and see us again.
Very Friendly Staff
As expected as I have golfed there many times. I keep coming back, that is enough said.

Great course great value
Course was in very good shape. Not overly difficult, but definitely not easy. Great value if you can find a underpar or golfnow discount. Staff were very friendly and accomdating.

Always a good time a Silverlakes
Always an enjoyable round a Silverlakes. Course is always maintained well. I've played here a dozen times over the years and pace of play is never an issue and course is always in great shape. Can't beat the golfnow rate for this pace. See you soon.
