Legends on the Niagara Golf Course - Chippawa

Enjoy playing this par three course

As a Golf Advisor "Top 500 Contributor", I feel obligated to share my experience, even if some feel it's minor.

I went to the Practice Facility at Legends on the Niagara, because they have the largest I've seen, and it's incredible shape.

I walked into the ProShop and was told a large bucket of range balls got me approx. 70 balls, so $10 later, I got 2 tokens. I filled my bucket at the dispensing machine and proceeded to the range. (p.s. the balls are all brand new, not a scuff to be found)

My practice plan was to warm up with 10 balls, work on hitting my driver straighter, and then cool down with 10 balls, before spending the majority of my time on the VAST chipping green. Much to my surprise, when I dumped out my bucket, I only received 55 balls. (see picture). After warming up, I returned to the ProShop to discuss my experience and was professionally dealt with. The staff grabbed 2 tokens, went outside to the machine and filled the bucket. Approx. 60 balls were dispensed. Because of my experience I was given another complimentary token.

I've spoken with one of the Manager's and they're going to investigate further, but I just wanted to warn the future guests, to make sure you get what you pay for. Range balls are expensive enough already. $10 for 70 = $.1429/ball. If you only get 55 balls, that price jumps to $.1818/ball. I would recommend counting your range balls immediately, and if you get shorted, bring it to the attention of the ProShop staff to see if they will rectify the situation for you.

Even after this minor inconvenience, I would NOT hesitate to return to Legends on the Niagara (Practice Facility or 1 of their 3 courses). Even though the Niagara Region has experienced a horribly dry summer, the course is in excellent condition, with green fairways, and healthy greens.

It is good to play golf at 9 course and has several long length to par three. This is best couse to practice golf for basic golfer and beginer.

Chippewa is a fun and challenging 9 hole course. There are plenty of challenges for the intermediate golfer but it is still fun for the less experienced players. Part of an excellent golf complex.

The chippawa course really delivers a great round of golf. Relative to other executive style courses this one exceeds expectations. The crew do an excellent job with the greens and fairways. The course offers challenging par 3s and 3 very enjoyable par 4s from the back tees. Tee it forward for nice relaxing round. The practice facilities are top notch as they are shared with the Niagara parks courses "Battlefied" and "Ushers Creek"

You can play the course twice for under $30 and have a very enjoyable round of golf.

I highly recommend this course for any golfer looking for a quality course at a resonable price.

Great little executive course with the same level of quality as the 2 big courses for less than a fifth the cost. Thoroughly enjoyed it!!

I had time for a nine so gave Chippawa a shot. To my surprise, I left delighted. Chippawa really does sport reminiscence of the Legends experience as advertised.

A par 30, Chippawa offers fully lengths par 3's and par 4's that utilized a variety of my clubs from short irons, long irons, fairway woods and even the driver from the tips. Furthermore, the course offers elevated tee boxes, raised greens, wind, strategically placed water, hazards, bunkers, treeline and tall fescue; truly surpassed my impressions of what a nine hole facility should be.

Also, the course was an easy walk with tee boxes and greens at convenient distances.

I will definitely be back with friends for twilight enjoyment and practice after work.

this course is fairly easy but is not a pretty course. Its pretty much all scrub & bullrushes . If some time was spent on landscaping it could be a beautiful course but the way it is now I felt like I was golfing in a farmers field. Because of all the high weeds & bullrushes it was a very slow game as golfers in front of us kept stopping the flow to look for balls (not there own) but ones other golfers had lost. Some were coming out of the weeds with 10 or 12 balls which made the golfing extremely slow as they did not offer to let golfers play through.
Driving in we noticed the big courses fairways were all nice & green but on the chippawa course there was a lot of dry brown grass. I will definitely not play there again.

The course is well maintained, and staff are very helpful. Great to practice your short game.

Great 9 hole track. User friendly for all abilities. Expertly maintained and seems to be underused considering the great conditions and value. Fairways were carpet soft.

took my nephew 9 year old beginner perfect little course for him challenging for practice of high loft clubs no shade so make sure you wear a hat and take water

The course was in great shape. Nice to see the sand traps groomed and raked. Best place to play nine holes!

This course is beautiful and very well kept. Staff is awesome they made my 10 yr old son feel like he belonged.

This small executive course is well laid out and in excellent shape. This is a challenging little track that allows you to use every club in the bag, including your sand wedge unfortunately (and ball retriever too). We have played this 9 hole diamond in the rough twice in the last couple of days and enjoyed both rounds. For 9 holes you cannot go wrong. For those true beginners, there is even a large hole flag on every hole. My wife will not let me use these but I certainly see the advantage for the casual player.

really good to hit some balls very good for new golfer has large and small putting holes good fun for afternoon or morning beats the driving range and close to same cost.

Couldn't find the yardage markers in fairway. Slow pace but course is challenging. Great shape excellent pro shop manager and service. Will definitely be back.

This is a very challenging course from the blue tee's plus they have large cups and small cups on each hole for the good golfers or just beginners .. Course is in excellent condition as it is run by the Niagara Parks commission , so it's well maintained .. Can be played under 1 1/2 hrs for 9 holes..

The 9 hole Chippawa course at the Legends on the Niagara was in good shape for this early in the season. This course is an excellent place to begin a new season or for anytime throughout the year. Great for all ages and levels of golfers.

Being part of the Legends course means the shorter chippawa course was still very well kept.

For the money, especially if you get a Hot Deal, you just can't beat it. I went over lunch time and while i had a group 2 holes ahead of me, I had nobody behind for at least 4 holes allowing me to play a couple balls a hole.
