excellent executive course
This is a very challenging course from the blue tee's plus they have large cups and small cups on each hole for the good golfers or just beginners .. Course is in excellent condition as it is run by the Niagara Parks commission , so it's well maintained .. Can be played under 1 1/2 hrs for 9 holes..
First swings of the year
The 9 hole Chippawa course at the Legends on the Niagara was in good shape for this early in the season. This course is an excellent place to begin a new season or for anytime throughout the year. Great for all ages and levels of golfers.
Thank you very much, glad to hear you had an excellent time. See you soon!
Can't beat this course for the money
Being part of the Legends course means the shorter chippawa course was still very well kept.
For the money, especially if you get a Hot Deal, you just can't beat it. I went over lunch time and while i had a group 2 holes ahead of me, I had nobody behind for at least 4 holes allowing me to play a couple balls a hole.
Thank you for the feedback and we hope to see you again soon!
nice short course with mix of par 3 and par 4
in very good shape nice greens super maintaince by the Niagara Parks staff
Thank you very much for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed your round.
Love this course!
Great course for beginner but challenging enough for intermediate. Very peaceful
Thank you very much, we hope to see you again this season!
Chippewa course on the Legends of Niagara
Course is in average condition, Fairways are pretty good for a 9 hole course, although some of the traps were under repair probably from all the rain this summer. In all the times there I have never seen a greens worker or marshall on the holes but most of them of course would be on the 2 premium and more expensive courses on the property, Battlefield or Ushers creek.
This course has good value with Golf now pricing, only average at regular $15 + tax for 9 holes as there are only 3 Par 4s. They should offer a lesser fee for repeating 9 holes like an additional $7. which would help fill the tee times and give a reasonable fee of $22 or 18 holes.
Thank you for your feedback. We offer replay rates for $10.00 if you're interested. We hope to see you again this season.
Good practise course
It's a little practice course you can work on your irons with. You can use your driver for 3 holes. A lot of people walk this course so the rate of play is a little slow.
Thank you for the feedback. We hope to see you again in 2015
A Golfing Gem
Great course, challenging and in pristine condition. A great value for all levels of golfing expertise.
Wonderful comments, thank you very much!
Fun course for a quick round.
Most enjoyable course for 9 holes of play walking, with some challenges and pleasant surroundings.
Fun to try out the larger cups on the greens.
Thank you for the feedback. The comments about our big cups have been very positive.
Chippawa Golf
Played 9 holes with my daughter. Coarse was in excellent shape...a bit of construction on one hole but improvements are always good. Great course for the beginner or seasoned golfer. Best executive course in the area, Very quiet beautiful layout. Highly recommend this course if you want to work on the short game....3 par 4's let you pull out the driver as well. Excellent price graet value
Thank you for the feedback. We were doing some bunker work and most of it has been completed for the 2015 season.
Nice Executive Course
Played with my son and his wife. Course was not busy and in good condition although the rough is deadly.
Would play again.
Thank you, we hope to see you soon!
Couldn't ask for more
This course is a nice mostly par 3 and overall great conditioned place to play with less experienced players. We played with 2 kids for their first time and it didn't kill their spirit but helped them to get the hang of hitting and feeling accomplished. Staff was super friendly and all people on the course were understanding of the young players and very patient. Thanks!
This is great to hear, we love comments about growing the game
Other than sand traps course was in great shape
Other than sand traps course was in great shape.. Bunkers were dirt.. Except the first hole.
Thank you for your feedback. We have topped up most of the bunkers on Chippawa and we should have them all completed this season.
A great junior course - perfect learning environment
A great junior course. I take my Special Olympic sister here all the time, she's learning the game and loves it. - it has all of the features found in a "Legends" quality course, only set for juniors and beginners. - greens are fair, but I don't think the junior 9 has been receiving as much attention to detail as the rest of the course. It's looking a little chewed up. (Tee boxes especially). Overall great value.
Well maintained, but narrow.
I am not a great golfer and found the course to be narrow. If you hit your ball into the weeds that outline the fairways you will likely need to take a new ball out if your bag. The fairways and greens are very well maintained, and they have a second, oversized, hole in every green to help those with putting problems.
I would suggest this course for those who can consistently hit the ball straight, but don't feel like playing a long game (the holes are shortish for par 4, with several par 3s.
Thank you for the kind feedback about our course conditions and the addition of our big cups for beginners.
Good value, could be better
I've played the Niagara Parks courses many times. Chippawa is a great 9 hole executive track that will have you using every club in the bag. Yes, some of the sand traps can use some attention. Here's the thing that bugs me though. The greens are shaggy. Somebody mentioned that they are the same as the championship course....they clearly are not. Same goes for the practice putting green outside the Chippawa clubhouse. Compared the the big course they are shaggy. They need to maintain them the same. Hole 7 is a nail bitter and toughest hole on the course. You have to contend with water if you decide to lay up or go for it. Par is a great score on this par 3. The last two holes allow you to grip it and rip it after you've warmed up your irons and short game on the previous 7 holes. Pace of play when I've been out there (Weekdays) has alway been good. Under 2 hours. I've never seen a cart girl on this course.
FYI, I'd rate my favorite Niagara Parks courses in the following order:
Ushers Creek
Whirlpool
Battlefield
Chippawa
Oaks
Thank you very much for your feedback and we're glad to hear you like our Niagara Parks golf course. The greens are in fact kept a little slower than our 18 hole courses, makes it a little easier for the less experienced golfer. We hope to see you on the courses soon!
Excellent Short COurse
Great little course. Fairways and greens are in excellent shape. sand traps could use some maintenance.
Thank you for your feedback. We have addressed the greenside bunkers and we'll be finishing off the top up of the fairway bunkers this season. We hope to see you again!
Excellent value and lovely course
Loved the course! Staff very friendly. Incredible price!
Thank you very much!
Great wake up round
Played the executive nine in the morning -- loved the condition of the course and the staff working on it were very friendly and welcoming ! Played the blues send found it just enough for a morning round. Two impatient people behind us were a bit rude but that was just bad luck the course wasn't too busy at 9 am
Would definitely play it again !
Thank you for the kind comments
Great for beginners and pros alike
The Chippawa course at Legends is groomed in the same manner that their two championship courses are. While the course is made up of 6 par 3s and 3 par 4s making it a par 30; the course from the tips can be challenging for a low handicap golfer with several par 3s > 175 yards and one stretching 200+ yards. The two hole system cut on the the greens (one regulation size and one two times the diameter) is a bit juvenile but I assume it makes for a more enjoyable round for the beginners. I would recommend this course for all beginners and advanced golfers looking to work on their short game and iron play.
Thank you for your great feedback. We hope the big cups didn't distract you too much during your round. They have been well received by our beginner golfers. Great way to grow the game!
Thank you for taking the time to review our golf course. See you again soon!
