About
Located in a spectacular natural setting against the backdrop of the Niagara River whirlpool and gorge, this magnificent and challenging championship course was designed by the legendary golf architect Stanley Thompson. Owned and operated by The Niagara Parks Commission since 1951, Whirlpool is considered as one of the Top 100 Courses in Canada.
Directions: From Toronto: Approach Niagara Falls on the QEW. Just after crossing the St. Catharines Skyway, take the 405 exit towards the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge to the USA. Just before the bridge, take the last exit to the Niagara Parkway. Turn right off the ramp onto the Niagara Parkway. Whirlpool Golf Course is 4km down the road on the right hand side

Best ever
This is in the best condition ever. From years past with the troubles it had. It has bounced back as the jewel of Niagara Parks. Very enjoyable to play and look at .
Spectacular day!
Always love this golf course and today’s experience best yet despite limitation of some of services. Course in great shape, warm welcome and pace excellent. Nice to see traditional layout that rewards good shots and punishes bad. Generous fairways and greens in great shape! Will be back.

CUT THE ROUGH AS NOTHING IS MORE FRUSTRATING THAN A BALL ROLLING 6 FEET OFF THE FAIRWAYS AND YOU SPEND 10 MINUTES LOOKING FOR IT!!
IT WAS AT LEAST 4 TO 6 INCHES ON ALL HOLES...
and on the 2 or 3 holes the rough was cut, all the clumped grass was left.....
Maybe they could learn something from the crews at LEGENDS.....
Otherwise, I love the drive to Niagara

Old Time Favourite
The course was in great shape, staff friendly and attentive as usual. However the ruff was very long as others have mentioned which really slowed play down, even the first cut was too long, you could be right over your ball and cant find it. WP is one of the best layouts and courses in Canada as far as im concerned. There were plenty of carts for a mid morning tee off, and had good covid protocols in place.
Excellent pace of play
Staff is very friendly from when you register to when you are playing. We were walking today and didn’t wait. Pace of play was fantastic! Some challenging greens and layout... All in all great place to play!
Standby Never Disappoints
Old style parkland course is in excellent shape & always offers a challenge with it's strong par 3's; par 5's that offer birdie chances & mix of par 4's offering a variety of second shots. Course continues to stand the test of time.
Horrific conditions
Altough the course looked spectacular online. I must have not read the part that said I needed to bring my weed wacker with my golf clubs. This course is terribly maintained and I couldn’t see my shoes in the grass it was so high. If you are not a spectacular player this course will have you losing over 20 balls because you can’t find them in tHe Amazon grass. Rating: Trash, horrific, my worst nightmare.
Rough needs work
Course is actually in really good shape, except the rough. They've not just left it so long it's basically an OB, it's also causing non stop ball hunts if you aren't in the fairway. It might as well be fescue lining the fairways. Greens and fairways were nice as were tee blocks and staff were great as always hence the 4 stars. I'd normally give it a 4.5 but the poor state of the rough (long dead grass everywhere) knocks at least half a star. Hopefully it will get under control soon

Classical design
The rough made the course unplayable; come on - I thought I was back at SawGrass.
The green were really really slow.
CLASSIC course
This is a classic course in Ontario! At the moment there is US Open rough there, to be honest it was an extremely fair test of golf.
Only criticism is that for full price the bunkers should be ready but love the Niagara Parks courses!
Good Time
We arrived 30 min. early for our tee time but no problem. Rob in the Pro Shop and Terry the starter got us on our way. The course was wet so cart paths only but as it a reasonably flat layout, no issues.I really like the the traditional Stanley Thompson course and will play again when ever I can. The staff were great.
A terrific Stanley Thompson golf course
It is always a pleasure to play Whirlpool at any time of the year. Superb maintenance ensures a great day no matter how one plays. Our foursome really appreciated the reception we received from the pro shop.
Greens had been just aerated but it’s a beautiful course
Helicopters
Nearby helicopters taking off became an annoying during play.
Not bad
The course was in good shape but the halfway house was closed no beer cart and I was entertaining clients and bragged about Whirlpool but it was a big let down on the service side we couldn't get a sandwich or anything after 9 hole and did not see the beer cart once.My clients were not impressed and would not play there again.I took the same clients to Thundering Waters 2 weeks later and paid $69 riding and they all agreed they would play there again before Whirlpool which is very heartbreaking since Whirlpool is a better course but the customer service sucked
First time at this course and not disappointed. Classic old layout with plenty of uneven lies and hidden pins.
The rough at Legends Ussher's Creek is at least as long as you mentioned.
