Whirlpool Golf Course

Whirlpool Golf course is a challenging track. There are windows and holes that look easy on the card but then there are protected pins and protected greens to deal with. There are short par fives that are tight and long par fours (often back to back) that both demand precision with a tee shot and a wood or long iron to the green.

Over the last few years, Whirlpool seemed to have become the Cinderella to its two bigger and newer sisters, the great courses down the road on the other side of the Falls at Legends (Battlefield and Ussher's Creek). There was a tough winter a few years back that required severe maintenance to repair some greens that complicated this as well.

I am happy to say that the course is now completely recovered and that it is in absolutely wonderful shape.

Play here often whenever you are in the WNY Area or Niagara Region of Canada. It is worth the money and you will be challenged by the course.

Old style tree lined golf course

The good. Greens in good shape. Staff are friendly. New Carts. Long par 3's a number of par 5's. Good pace of play

The bad. The (non stop) helicopters. No driving range. Fairways very wet

This has always been a terrific course and it is in extremely good condition. Weather was perfect, a great golf day.

we had a great round even though it was very hot , would have liked to see the beverage cart a little more often. Nice course , fairways good and greens run true.

We had a wonderful game on a very good golf course.

My wife and I played this course a few years back, enjoyed it then enjoyed it now. Course was in good shape, play moved fast, and rangers were constantly on the move.

Great course for the money which included a cart. Tees are nice , fairways nice, Greens are a little slow but easy to read, Sand traps are pretty hard, they need grooming . Lots of helicopters overhead but for the real golfer that focuses on ones game they wont even phase you.

Great experience on this interesting parkland course. Much needed tree removal/maintenance has taken place and the course is in great shape. A good test of golf from any tees. Only area for improvement: consistent receptiveness of greens to approach shots.

It was a very nice and fair course with lots of ambience. A nice mixture of hole types and a good test of your golf game. It was right next to the falls in Niagara so there were helicopters overhead most of the time. But that was a small distraction.

Beautifully maintained course. Great location on the Niagara Parkway at the Whirlpool.

This course has a good layout but the noise is unbelievable. Helicopter tours flying over the course every 5 minutes sometimes we could not hear each other for that reason only would not return. still have a headache from the noise....

Course I very good shape. Bit tough from the blues though.

Wonderful layout by Stephen Thompson; lots of varieties; greens excellent condition; good pace of play : 4 hours 10 minutes.

The only negative were the two or three helicopters above making a non stop racket.

Grounds keeping stands out making the course one of the very best on the in the population of courses resident on the Canadian Niagara escarpment. So don't spend all your time in the casino get and play this wonderful course.

Course extremely busy, which was slow playing however knew this from start, did not let this affect a good day

Played with my wife and friends. The staff was extremely friendly and the course was exceptional.

The fairways were a little shaggy (played preferred lies)...but the greens were in great shape...always a pleasure to play this track...

We found the course was in great shape....a bit toooo wet in some places. We found, as other reviewers have noted, that there were many, many ballmarks on the greens. We tried to fix three or four on each green. We found the bunkers had very little sand in the bottoms but plenty on the side slopes....so it was hard to make a good shot.....something for the superintendent to think about.....work on those bunkers.

The Stanley Thompson course was a joy to play...
